Our contract stated all documentary and photography editing would be provided within six weeks after all shooting was completed! Biggest lie ever. Our contract also stated 8 hours of video, but afterwards a video would be extra charge. Why would I pay you to shoot for 8 hours but a video isn't provided?! We just received 1 album from our attorney which we hired because the owner kept playing pointless games. But what was promised to us was 2 albums which we have yet to receive along with a edited 20 minute video that the owner promised as well! But the round around with the owner (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) continues. It's embarrassing an adult can't own up to their actions and take initiative to make things right. That's probably why her marriage failed too. I want everyone to know that after posting my initial review, the owner woke up from lala land and started harassing my attorney demanding I take down the review. It's just one of those things you HAVE TO do and theres no avoiding it. Now what do you do when you're a strong 6 that looks like 3's in pictures? Get video. One of my bridesmaids who got married a few years back had hired a video crew to capture her wedding and the end results BLEW MY MIND. I knew right then and there to hire a videographer for my own wedding. Something to enjoy watching and remembering our most important day as I stow away the wedding photos in the attic. But I also remembered the steep ass price tag her vendors charged and made it my quest to find the perfect videographers to fit the budget. It wasn't easy.. I must've asked for over 30 quotes from vendors, watched close to 100 videos on vimeo, read through 200 reviews on yelp.. and it was seriously disheartening. If the price fit the budget it was pretty obvious from their quality. If their videos were amazing they had the price to match. There was also a certain aesthetic I was going for and too many wedding videos were on the cheesy side. In swoops By Design Films. I think I was just going down the list of videographers on Google but regardless of how I found them i'm just glad that I did. I watched some of their works on vimeo and they fit my ideal video to a T. I requested a quote with low expectations and was surprised that they also fell within budget! I booked them on the spot. I went with the premiere package with raw footage of the wedding as an add on. Day of, the cinematographer is beyond amazing as he documents everything discreetly, unlike my obnoxious photographer who's busy barking at us to stand in generic poses. It was with one photographer and she was professional and courteous. She was the lead photographer at our wedding, joined by other photographers and a videographer and a couple others. When we got our photos and video back, we did not think negatively. Some great moments were captured. We've reviewed our photos and videos ad nauseam at this point--our wedding was over 2 years ago. We've been to multiple weddings since then and had a chance to review photos and videos from other vendors, albeit from different states. BDF is, without a doubt, a sub par production. We had the lead photographer in several photos that should've captured only guests or the bride and groom. The lead photographer was also in video shots. Other people taking photos and videos were in shots. In retrospect, there was virtually no creativity with the shots that were taken. You will have no way of knowing what's happening with your vendor here. Not sure what could've prevented this. BDF's portfolio on their website looks much better than the product we received. The main complaint here is the price. For $7k, in Los Angeles, you'd think every single photo and shot would be magical. But it was not. This felt more like a $2k product. To top everything off, we had photos / selfies of the BDF crew. I'm all for having fun and enjoying your job. But producing a sub par product and then gratuitously including yourselves in someone else's magical day without their consent is just a slap in the face.

From the beginning, Emil was professional, responsive, and incredibly easy to work with. Neither of us is particularly used to being in front of the camera, but he made the experience comfortable and natural. On our wedding day, he did a wonderful job capturing not only the important moments, but also so many candid shots of our family and friends genuinely enjoying themselves. Looking through the finished gallery and seeing how happy everyone looked brought back so many great memories from the day.
