I never intended to leave a bad review--I was honestly scared to do so--but after sharing my experience with others, they encouraged me to warn people, which in hindsight, I know I would've appreciated a warning myself, so here it is. I can't speak for the other artist at this shop--their work looks awesome--but I specifically went to Oscar because he was recommended for the style I wanted. My first tattoo with him started great--the first half was AMAZING. But the second half? Completely botched. I let it slide because the first part was so good, and at least the other half people wouldn't see as much based on its location. Since Oscar specializes in realism, I provided real photos of a lake scene for him to replicate. Unfortunately, the result wasn't even close to realistic. I later had another artist, who actually specializes in realism, cover it up. While Oscar's portrait work is incredible, his skills seem limited to existing photos of people and creatures--when it comes to scenery or original compositions, the quality just isn't there. I always wondered why he never posted any of my tattoos, but now I get it. At this point, every tattoo he's done on me has either been covered up or will need to be removed and redone. The biggest issue was my sleeve, which had problems even before the machine started. I pointed out three stencil mistakes, but he assured me they were fine. I didn't want to be "difficult"--especially after he told me I was his most difficult client--so I went on to trust the bad stencil/him. To this day that's my one life regret. The result was bad linework and sizing issues that I had flagged before it was permanent. Despite my concerns, I kept coming back (my mistake) and even tipped him (also my mistake), which sent the message that I was okay with the work when I really wasn't. When I finally returned for touch-ups--because his tattoos definitely needed them--he ended up making one tattoo worse to the point that it now requires removal. On top of that, he charged me for the session, even though he had previously confirmed touch-ups were free. If additional work required payment, that should have been communicated beforehand. I don't know if the issue was personal or just his artistic limitations, but I strongly do not recommend Oscar unless you're getting a straight-up portrait. His portrait work is undeniably amazing--I just wish I had received that level of quality for my tattoos. If you do go to him, stand your ground. I wish I had been more firm--it would have saved me thousands of dollars on the bad tattoos themselves, the cover-ups, and eventually painful removals that I've been dreading (currently looking for removal recs if anyone has any). read more

There are numerous Artists at Antidote that are extremely talented but if you are looking for realism tattoos, Oscar is the guy! As you can see in the pictures below, Oscar is a VERY talented artist. I've gotten 3 different tattoos from Oscar and he never fails to amaze me with the quality of service he provides. He is a super nice dude that will work with you on the design to make sure that you are getting a quality piece. I get compliments on ALL of the pieces he has done for me, especially the spartan warrior. The detail he is able to pack into a design is UNREAL. There aren't enough good things I can say about Oscar, he's got serious talent. I definitely recommend Oscar as an artist and plan on going back to him for more in the future! read more

lowkey my best kept secret but started this yelp page because I love Reesa! I have three tattoos from her, and all exclusively from her! I've seen her tattoos also improve over the past 2-3 years and I'm really excited to book more with her in the future! Reesa is great with fine lines and floral tattoos so I highly recommend her for black/white, linework, and floral. I was really nervous getting my first tattoo ever but she made me feel really comfortable and it was less painful than I anticipated! She doesn't have a super heavy hand like other artists, so I really appreciate that :P I've also met Oscar and Xenya and they're both really fun to work with! Oscar, @valdam.ink on IG did such a great job on this Death's Head Moth Hawk tattoo. Their shop is currently located in a barber shop in a back room. They said that they will be moving into a more permanent shop soon. He is very professional and very friendly. This place is still the bomb! Their new location is way closer to my house and I prefer this place on smoke ranch. They have a cute little lobby/waiting area, in the process was really quick. Xenya is truly so amazing!!! I had a flash tattoo done by her a couple years ago and decided to come back because I had a good experience. This time was even better! We chatted the whole time and her tattoo room is so cute. Plushies and anime figures all over and it has her own personal touch. Plus she was playing a show which helped me stay relaxed during my appointment. She asked me a lot of questions and checked on me throughout my tattoo appointment to make sure I was OK. I appreciate that she's not super heavy handed and the tattoo came out AMAZINGGGGG! I've always been a Kingdom Hearts fan and I really wanted a tattoo from the game, so I was so happy that she could bring my idea to life The prices are good too, I like that I went into my appointment, knowing how much it was going to cost (because apparently that's not saying that all tattoo places do) But yeah, I will only come to Xenya for my tattoos, and the other people at the studio are great as well. I have so many things to say about this place, and the artists. They are so easy to work with and talk to.
