If you're vegan or vegetarian it's novel and frankly amazing to be able to order anything with no worries. The food itself is very nice, truly enjoyed the sausage roll and the others enjoyed a pinwheel and the dumplings. They're a great proxy for the 'original' items too - if you're concerned about that sort of thing!

They were not the chewy type I usually favor. Moved on to stir fried ham ( soy, not pig) with green vegetables. Good! Smoked soy with vegetables. Also very good. #6 hotpot lemon and red roast noodles - sauce was more catsup and not lemony but the chewy gluten fake meat on top was excellent. Last dish was Beijing stewed something (#19). Excellent!

Assuming their website was the most up to date (I worked in a restaurant and google was never the most reliable), I came on a Monday and they were not open. They have a sign out front that reads "7 am - 4pm, 7 Days"... I came the next day at 8 am and they were just opening. Still eager to try the smashed avo toast and some of the delicious drinks I saw online, I was disappointed to learn neither were even on the menu. The menu was quite small and food wasn't available until 9 am. The only saving grace was the friendly waitstaff--I don't blame them for poor management. Overall such a bummer!

I appreciate when food has a unique twist to make it different than expected and that was key to making this place stand out for me. Also, the artwork around the cafe was a complimentary addition to make you enjoy your time there.

The flat white was of superior quality thankfully and staff was rather perky for a dark 7AM morning before the end of daylight savings.
