Once we were seated, we quickly looked through the menu and made our choices-- one friend tried the wild boar since it was a Tuscan specialty, but I saw truffle pasta and my mind was made up. It was a super simple dish, but done so, so well that I can still remember how it tastes today. Along with the food, the great (and inexpensive) house wine, the desserts, and the brisk but friendly service just created an unforgettable experience, without seeming geared towards tourists or catered to foreigners. Nothing classy, but nice, cozy and very enjoyable. They have been around for decades and have had the same menu ever since they first opened in the 60s. My suggestion is to get: antipasto (for everybody), tris di primi (4 people=2 servings is enough) and grigliata mista.
