Antica Cappelleria caught my eye... as hat shops do.
The prices were fair but not all of the hats are Italian. I bought two hats. One of the hats I bought was made in Japan. It's still a great hat, but go elsewhere if you want local-only.
The employee (I'm not sure that he was the owner) did not allow photos, which is understandable, as my companion suggested he may be accustomed to people coming into the store to try hats, take photos, and not buy.
I wanted to see what I would look like in one of the hats. The mirror was warped and the lighting in the store was poor, so I'd wanted to see what I looked like on my phone screen and possibly text the photo to another friend to get her thoughts. Anyway, I made the leap and it's been good hat-wise. Maybe the owner used the proceeds of my purchase to improve the mirror and lighting situations.
He worked with me on the price. First he offered a cash discount, but when I needed to choose between those hats because I didn't want to part with all that cash, he offered the same discount with a card purchase. read more
