    My " Lovey"
    Terry G.

I want everyone to know how wonderful everyone is at the anthracite animal clinic! i recently had to put my bullmastiff of 15yrs to sleep because how very ill she was. and they handled it so compasionatly, and thoughtfully,It was if they were feeling just the way i was Horrible! they showed respect and a genuine caring nature for my girl "lovey" and for the grief and pain i and my family were exsperienceing.I had her cremated and when they called me to come to pick up her ashes they were not rushed or hurried they pulled me to the side and said again how sorry they were about my lose of her. They could have stopped there but they didn't they sent me a hand signed sympothy card by the doctor kate harnish and staff.I just cant thank them enough and i will never go to another vet or clinic! please trust me and take your beloved pets there for all their needs please! Thank you all again for your kindness and how wonderfully you treated my dear lovey her last minutes on this earth. The pain of my lose is still very much raw and fresh but they way she was cared for loved and treated at the end of her life was so much a comfort and touched me.Thank you all! We have been taken my puppy here since she was 4 months old. Our first monthly visit was horrible…read more Dr Ryan man-handled her and pulled her up to the table causing her to scream and yelp. Then we Ordered her 6 months flee and tick medicine that they claimed was never paid for. After that everything was fine until yesterday. My mother called to schedule her a nail cutting. During this call the lady proceeded to ask if it was for our other dog who passed 15 years ago... After my dog's nail cutting appointment today, they charged us $29 and claimed it was a level 2 nail cutting. Whatever that means. My family has had 4 dogs and two of them went to different vets, neither of those places charged us that much. And while on the topic of other dogs when my last dog passed back in May of last year they could not find his ashes and it took weeks for us to get them. Totally ruined the grieving process for everyone. I don't recommend this place to anyone with pets. I will not have my pets mistreated and I will not be squeezed out of every penny.

We were worried about an obstruction or kidney issues (this breed is known for both). Dr. Kaminsky took X-rays and did bloodwork. All findings were visually & verbally shared with us. She was terrific at explaining the results. Both of us are medical. My son is an ICU physician and I'm a PhD who taught pathophysiology to doctoral students. Despite this she spoke in laymen's terms which was helpful as we are all about humans and dogs are much different. We discussed a plan and made shared decisions. All this made us feel comfortable and heard. Our pooch is better now. Our animals are family. This facility and their staff recognize this. Highly recommend!

Cookie suffers anxiety with going to the vet and the way Dr Peterson handled Cookie was amazing! She talked to our dogs in a calm voice and showed such compassion towards our dogs. I would definitely recommend anyone to take their pets to see Dr Peterson. She takes the time to examine them and go into detail with us about their health. I have confidence that my dogs will get the best care when they go for a visit. Thank you so much for being so great! It is greatly appreciated! Thanks again! Kim Brown

My boarding bill was over 1K by the time I picked up my dog. The hospital charged, $9.99/day JUST to give my dog his pills. I would call to check on my dog and no matter who I spoke with, they appeared to not know what they were doing. Always had to check with someone else. At one point I was told there was an increase in my daily rate. I reminded them I signed a contract for the $23.56/day. When I picked up my dog, I received a final bill, which was paid but was later sent another bill in the mail for more money. Another $46 dollars. For refill of my dogs meds. Even though the bill was paid in full when I picked him up. The focus with this veterinary hospital is on revenue, padding bills, rather than good customer service and dedication to the welfare and health of animals. I have utilized many veterinary hospitals over the years, even Ryan Hospital in Philadelphia. Ryan Hospital is exemplary. However, I would never use Sunbury Veterinary Hospital/boarding again.

Absolutely not the type of Response you would expect from a professional veterinary hospital. I know five people in the area that bring their dogs to this facility so they suggested I come here as well... I have since spoken to those five people and explained to them exactly what happened and they will now be removing their pets from this facility and going somewhere else that actually cares about the animals. What a shame.

Dr Creasy, Dr Kielbasa and Dr Todd Brooks are the best there. I would steer clear of Dr Danielle Lehman. The deep dive for those that will read: Took my cat in for an emergency after noticing a bloody paw and swollen leg. I initially could not see two of his nails due to swelling and the blood clotting. I stated he may have ripped the nails and possibly more. That was pretty much shut down right away with the vet stating its more likely an abscess or cancer tumor considering he had his front leg amputated because of cancer. If it were to turn out to be cancer I would need to think about his quality of life. They took him back to do what I thought would be cleaning the area and x-rays like I requested. The x-rays were done but no cleaning of the wound only a "soak" was performed which removed none of the dried clotting. I was shown the images, and no cancerous formations could be seen in the chest or foot in question. The Vet said it appeared he had "damage" to two of the toe bones and could be due to cancer, (Confirmed false by different vet). She also stated he was missing two of his nails. He was given an antibiotic shot there and pain meds to go home (no pain meds at the visit), with a follow up in a week. After getting him home and letting him settle for a bit I decided to clean the wound up. The appointment was 7/31/24 and today is 8/2/24. I successfully got his paw shaved, cleaned completely out and discovered he has both nails and no tumorous lumps. It appears it was an abscess upon actually seeing the wound. Had the vet taken the time to actually clean the wound I wouldn't have been sent home with no explanation or idea what was wrong. I had taken my other cat to them for two abscesses in the past and Dr Kielbasa did an amazing job getting the wound cleaned and ointment to go home with. I have used them in the past for all my emergencies and anything I've needed including his teeth removal and aforementioned leg amputation. After this appointment it has showed me not all the vets there are worth seeing. To talk to a pet parent about quality of life without knowing what's wrong when they would have, if they just took the time to actually do their job. I will be cancelling his follow up with them and if I make any future appointments my animals will only be seeing Dr Creasy, Dr Kielbasa or Dr Todd Brooks.

He gets compliments and extra pets for being a good boy while he is there. I love that as a big dog he isn't made to stand on the table but they get down on the floor with him. He is a lot calmer that way and I feel like it doesn't bring another issue for him to get anxious over. We have been going to them for over a year now and have never had a bad experience. During the past year besides his annual exam, he has had a few ear infections and was cared for after dogs attacked him. They were compassionate without judgement and he received the best care there. We suspected it was an urgent situation, but we were not sure at that moment. Dr Levan identified the potential life threatening problem and performed an emergency surgery on our girl. She then called with updates on her and we were able to bring her home the next day(Sunday). When Dr. Levan called with the update for our girl, another one of my dogs seemed to have hurt her front leg. She allowed me to bring my other dog in when we picked up her sister after her surgery for an office visit. Dr Levan went above and beyond for my family, and for that I am truly grateful. Instead of sending us to an Emergency Vet, like we have experienced at other offices, she cared enough to help our babies. This is why we will continue to come back. A love for animals, compassion and kindness is what drives this business.
