El Rinconcito Mexicano - Lehigh Acres, FL Phone: (239)…read more369‑6577 Today around 4:00 PM, I experienced one of the finest Mexican meals in Southwest Florida at El Rinconcito Mexicano in Lehigh Acres. The food was exceptional--fresh, bold, authentic, and clearly prepared with tremendous care and tradition. What truly made this visit extraordinary was the service provided by Alex, the owners' son. Alex is an outstanding young man whose character, pride, and dedication elevate the entire restaurant. He carries himself with professionalism, warmth, and genuine pride in his Hispanic heritage. It is clear he plays a vital role in helping his parents run the restaurant, working side‑by‑side with his brother to uphold the family's standards of excellence. Alex's hospitality was remarkable. He was attentive, respectful, and sincerely invested in ensuring I had an exceptional dining experience. His kindness, enthusiasm, and deep pride in his family's work make him a standout in the world of customer service. People like Alex are rare--he embodies the heart and soul of a true family‑run establishment. The meal itself was phenomenal, and the combination of authentic cuisine and Alex's exceptional service makes El Rinconcito Mexicano a restaurant I am proud to give a full five‑star rating. If you are searching for the best authentic Mexican food in Lehigh Acres, this is the place. --- Dr. Eliot Sherr, PhD, DPM, FACFAS Diplomate, American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellow, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Board‑Certified Foot & Ankle Surgeon Lehigh Acres, Florida Phone: 239‑266‑5237

The food was packed with flavor, the portions were generous, and the prices were honestly very reasonable for the amount of food you get. You definitely don't leave feeling like you overpaid or didn't get enough! The enchiladas/taquitos topped with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and crema were delicious, and the rice and beans were the perfect sides. The quesadilla was also HUGE and loaded with filling! And if you're children are a fan of fries and chicken nuggets, their crispy nuggets and fries were a hit too! What really stood out to me was that the food actually tastes homemade. You can tell they put care into what they serve. The flavors, portions, and prices make this a place I would definitely come back to. We walked in the restaurant to place an order to go before going grocery shopping at Publix next door. It was hot and ready in about 20 minutes. We tried the carnitas chimichangas, tamales, taquitos, and a wet burrito. I like that you can order entrees à la carte if you don't want rice and beans. Each dish had a good ratio of meat to other ingredients, and we found the carnitas flavorful and tender. We enjoyed both flavorful salsas, especially the verde. The pineapple agua fresca and horchata both tasted sweet and refreshing. We'll definitely be back to this great family-run business the next time we're in this part of Fort Myers.

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. From the moment we walked in, the…read morewaitress was unpleasant and not welcoming at all. There was no friendliness, no effort to make us feel comfortable as customers. We were brought chips that were ice cold, as if they had come straight from a refrigerator. The salsa served with them was also cold. I politely asked if the chips could be warmed, even suggesting the microwave, and was told they "don't do that." I've been to many Mexican restaurants, and warm chips are standard, so this was already disappointing. Unfortunately, it only got worse. The waitress said her name was Karen--which I honestly doubt, given the amount of negative reviews mentioning poor customer service. It felt more like a name used to avoid accountability. When it came time to order, I clearly told her it was my first time there and asked for guidance on what to order. She offered no help at all. When I asked about substitutions, I was shut down immediately without explanation or effort. Her communication was minimal, dismissive, and rude. The attitude throughout the night was very clear: "what you see is what you get." By the time the food arrived, we were so uncomfortable that we simply asked for boxes and left. That says everything. I can't say whether race played a role, but I can say the environment was unwelcoming, the service was terrible, and the food experience did not make up for it at all. Based on the many similar reviews I've since seen, this seems to be a pattern--not a one-off experience. I would not recommend this place unless major changes are made to both customer service and food quality.

Tucked in the shopping plaza at Winkler / Gladiolus in Ft Myers, this cute and cozy spot has easy access to and from the beach and close to Health Park hospital. There are booths and a few tables for seating and to-go orders were available and certainly popular on our visit. The decor was festive and soft Mexican music played in the background. Bottled Mexican sodas, can sodas and beer are available. We chose sodas and chips and salsa to start as we scanned the menu. Please note, this is not like going to a typical American Mexican restaurant were chips and salsa come complimentary; you'll pay for a basket of fresh, hot, crispy tortilla chips and a 3 types of fresh salsa : green, spicy red and a creamy green. All were exceptional and fresh. Hubby ordered combo fajitas; beef and chicken. It came with a generous side of beans, rice and tortillas. I ordered the chicken flautas which also came with a side of beans and rice. Fajitas; meats were juicy and vegetables were cooked perfect. The flour tortillas were homemade and perfect taco size. Chicken flautas were crispy with a nice helping of shredded lettuce and cream sauce atop. We both enjoyed the refried beans and rice. Although my only complaint would be a bit more seasoning as I did use salt. Service was friendly, swift and efficient. The restaurant was tidy and clean. Definitely an easy laid back vibe. Can't wait for our next visit; I eyed the chicken nachos and they looked divine!
