I wish there was a negative star option. Any 5 star reviews are either employees, friends or family. I allegedly received a call back from Anthony himself. Lord and master of this firm. I've seen reviews that call him rude, and they are all true! Doesn't even give you the time of day to hear out your case. If it's not a quick easy buttoned up and gift wrapped win he doesn't want to hear about it or even waste his time hearing about it. If he doesn't hear you tell him you have a slam dunk in the first 20 seconds of the call he will dismiss you and brush you off. I would give Anthony - 4 stars for his expertise. However, I am giving him 2 stars because I consider (and family and friends who have had an attorney represent them) many of his charges excessive and borderline ridiculous, which I will reference later. From extensive research I could only find a handful of lawyers within 50 miles of Medford, NY with knowledge in the used car lemon law. After countless phone calls to various lawyers seeking advice, direction, and inquiring about cost, I made my decision to go with Anthony because he sounded the most promising. After the first phone call with Anthony he said "he is nice and want's to help me out" so he will only charge me $395 for the demand letter to the dealer instead of his normal retainer of $1900. After speaking to few attorneys I can conclude Anthony wasn't being "nice and trying to help me out" because that is what all the lawyers charge for a demand letter, so if he didn't charge that he would be loosing out. One positive thing I can say is he was quick and efficient in sending the dealer the demand letter. After they sent out the letter, the secretary Dee asked me to sign a Retainer Agreement & Client's Rights. This is where I should have been more careful in reading, but at the same time I can't grasp how they charge for EVERY SINGLE LITTLE THING. A few days after signing and scanning the pages to them (which I was charged for, as well as Dee's phone call to let me know that I had to initial the bottom of every page, which I was never was asked to do in the original e-mail she sent) I received an invoice from them. When I opened it, I realized they were charging me $450 not $395 for the demand letter, because "the $395 did not include the time Anthony took to review all the supporting documents." I was never made aware I was going to be charged an extra $65. One would think in order to write the demand letter you need to look over some documents to gather your information thus including this in the demand letter charge. If I could go back in time upon receiving this invoice I would have made the decision to cancel his representation. After the dealer did not respond by the date on the demand letter I received a phone call from Anthony, in which he explained the next steps. Let me tell you here Anthony is a good sales person, he convinced me to stick around and was willing to accept half the retainer then the other half two weeks later. I sent Anthony $950 and within a few days the car the case was regarding was giving me more problems. I made the decision to trade the car in thus canceling the case. I called Anthony to let him know of my decision and he tried to talk me out of it. At that moment when speaking to him it sounded like he was looking out for my best interest. After receiving a refund check and the last invoice with all the deductions that were made from the $950 I am not sure if Anthony was looking out for my best interest or trying to keep me around to drain the few dollars that I make. If you made it this far in reading this, this is were I warn you to keep track of ALL your/and their e-mails and phone calls to Anthony and Dee because they will charge you for every single one. This is where I think it is excessive because I can recall a few phone calls in which Dee called me to let me know the letter was sent (a call that was about 2 minutes the most) and I was charged $17.50. Another time I remember I called to ask if the dealer had received the letter or responded (another two minute the most) and charged $17.50. I showed a few family members and friends the invoice and they have never heard of a lawyer who seemed to be as money hungry as Anthony is. Those who had an attorney represent them before said they were never charged for every meniscal phone call or e-mail like I was, if they were they would have not have been able to afford a lawyer. I say unless you have big pockets do your research on the other lemon lawyers out there. read more
