Worst customer service ever. First call was dropped, then I literally called 5 more times and could not get a human. The voice recognition system could not correctly interpret what I was saying despite being a native English speaker with a midwest (newscaster) English. I called back and asked to speak to a human and explained the situation. I was sent back into the automated system where the situation just repeated. read more

After over 15 years of coverage with this company, due to an economic crisis, I got behind on my payments by 2 months. I received a letter to pay by 1/30/20 to maintain coverage. I got the money together, but was unable to enter my online account. I called customer service to be told basically to bad. No consideration. Account cancelled. Thanks for nothing. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST health care company on the planet. Be warned!! They raise rates 30% to 40% every year!! You call to get in touch with an agent & the recording tells you the wait time is 54 minutes & 37 seconds. I received a bill for $1,000 for a hospital visit 2 years ago. This should have been covered 100%. I called the hospital billing office & was told Anthem DENIED my payment because they needed more information FROM THE HOSPITAL. So instead of pursing that additional information needed from the hospital they just billed ME $1,000. Calling to get this cleared up is ready to put me in the hospital with a nervous break down! What to say about anthem. Every year the company raises my rates and it's been about $110 each year. I pay a high prem and when I needed an MRI, a NURSE for Anthem told me that it was not necessary forcing me to pay from my own pocket. Why am I with Anthem? read more

The worst customer service experiences of my life have come at the hands of Anthem. They love playing games. Transferring you over and over hoping you will give up. They either hire the dumbest people imaginable or they are simply screwing with you. They refused to put me in touch with a supervisor after raising my rate without notice during the middle of my policy. My rate has already gone up 2 1/2 times what is was two years ago despite my deductible also nearly doubling. They have enrolled me in incorrect plans in the past and attempted to over bill me then. Three times in 1 1/2 years I have had to spend hours on the phone trying to correct something they screwed up. Today I had to call 4 times and speak to 8 people and guess what? No resolution to my problem. Stay away from anthem. If you want customer service find another health insurance company.
