Always an easy drive. CHP patrol, so use your Waze app. I can get from Ave P to Palmedale Blvd. without any worries. Freeway is clean and I don't see graffiti all over the walls, makes living in Palmdale nice. You know your in the desert when everything is brown and beige. Gotta love it, to live here.

There WAS a MAJOR dip on the 14 South right after Palmdale Blvd. exit, BUT I'm happy to report that it has been repaired....YAY!!!!!! Now that's our tax $$$$ working at their best. I beg thee to keep it that way..... The only thing that the freeway could use are lights...

This freeway is heavily patrolled by the CHP. You are almost guaranteed to see one every trip. The traffic isn't usually too heavy. However lately because of all the cops people think they can't drive over 62. So sometimes when they pack together you get screwed. But usually there is enough space to kind of float through everyone with the massaging seats on.

Musical Road - The Musical Road in Lancaster, CA. It is a fail, unfortunately. :-(

Such a fun roadside surprise! If you're in the Lancaster…read morearea, the Musical Road is definitely a cool little stop. It's literally a stretch of G Avenue that plays music as you drive over it--yes, actual music from the grooves in the pavement. It's quirky, quick, and one of those "why not?" detours that always makes people smile. Super easy to find, plenty of room to pull over before or after, and it's a fun way to add a little adventure to your day. Definitely worth checking out at least once!

This road is actually named Honda "Civic Musical Road"…read more This is a unique musical road located in Lancaster on Avenue G between 30th & 40th Streets West. It spent less than one month in its' original spot in a residential area before being moved. The sound carried for about a half a mile away and nearby residents didn't appreciate it. There are grooves in the road that is supposed to play sounds making music when you drive at least 55 mph. The grooves look like a long version of the shorter rumble strips which you see running along the sides of the roads that let you know when you're veering off the road. ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/musical-road-lancaster?select=Esbtlv1NtNa_ifaPenUa-Q ) Make sure you are heading West in the far left lane and driving at least 55mph. No matter how you drive it, the musical tones are off. It's out of tune to say the least. The spacing of the grooves were installed correctly, but the width were NOT, so they didn't get the details completely right. Sad thing is is that they used the same exact plans twice (original location & here). They didn't bother to correct their mistakes! Anyways, if you want to attempt to hear the music, you should hear a bit of the finale of the William Tell Overture. All in all, it's a fun little activity that I insisted on having hubby drive over multiple times! **Take a side trip: There is another better sounding & lengthier musical road called R. Lee Ermey nearby in Palmdale. It plays the "Marine Corps Hymn".

Three Sisters Rock - This is the very first part of the trail; keep going straight until you reach the railroad tracks and crossover them onto the PCT

This stretch of the PCT was nice and had great vistas and you can scramble and play just about anywhere, although I didn't get to see it all because I was losing the sun faster than I expected, but I'll get back out there for certain. Once you reach the first rock, you'll need to take a side trail off the fire road that will lead you directly up to the rock and then follow the base around until a small crevice and climb your way up. Once you get on top you'll realize that you can't get to the others without climbing back down this rock and going either on a downhill adventure or back to the road and then all the way around to the base of the other rocks There are a couple branches off the fire road and trail that you will need to take, so I suggest you download the all trails app and follow those GPS Tracks PARKING: There is a big KOA sign welcome in PCT hikers right off the main road; park here and take the trail down. I pulled into the KOA to ask directions and the girl that worked there told me to go down to the back and that I could park there, but when I got back to my truck the manager (with her undeserved power trip) Had parked their big Duley in front of me and proceeded to berate me about parking there despite me telling her that her own staff told me where to park. So, do yourself a favor and don't even enter the KOA. Park on the road.

To view this impressive rock formation up close you will either have to hike from the west,…read morestarting at the corner of Agua Dulce Canyon Rd and Briggs Edison Rd, or from the south via the Pacific Crest Trail located off of Soledad Canyon Rd (opposite Indian Canyon). From the west it's a an 8-mile round trip hike. You'll start by passing through a locked iron gate with a sign that warns that you are entering a private road. Private land maps clearly show that the road runs through land owned by either Southern California Edison, Santa Clarita Watershed Recreation and Conservation Authority or Bureau of Land Management. The path of the road roughly follows power lines so it's pretty hard to get lost. Unfortunately, the rock formation and 100 acres of land surrounding it is located on private property so you won't be able to venture between the rocks or explore its caves. Never-the-less, it's still a fun hike and you can still appreciate the majestic pinnacles from a close enough distance.
