This is a wonderful and welcoming synagogue. Rabbi Summers and his family are warm and welcoming, and the regular members are very friendly.

We made some new friends, and met new people as we did at all the other congragations. I always feel spiritually lifted and encouraged when leaving the buildings.

Rabbi Weinberg is also a Lawyer, and Rabbi Rosenberg is a very experienced Rabbi from New York which is always a good sign. The Cantor Brice Megdal was excellent--what a great voice and energy. And Dr. Sarah Sela, a Gastro. Probably the friendliest leadership you will find and very different than most of the Temples in LA that have elitist attitude and not very welcoming, especially if you are single. You will feel very comfortable here Single, Couple, or Family. Everyone is down to earth. What they are looking for are congregants that willing to be a participant as opposed to just paying dues--although they can certainly use dues. Instead of "build it and they will come," here you will help build it and participate. And they are open to all kinds of suggestions if you want to be a leader, a friendly open leader. Like a start-up. People come here from far away because of the comfortable atmosphere of collaboration and cooperation. All ages are represented from Teens to Seniors. If you email Rabbi Weinberg, get ready for a quick response from him--he is very "hands on." I personally had the opportunity to talk with him for the first time before services and immediately you will enjoy his company. He is not only well versed in religious rituals but experienced in law and life and very approachable. It's not easy to find someone like that in a temple in LA or really anywhere. The only thing is that at the Rosh services--too much Hebrew for me--I just don't have that skill, but I am eternally grateful that they invited me when no one else in LA would. If you can read and understand Hebrew--you will be right at home. BTW: If you have any social networking skills--they can use an update to their website as well as promotion to new members on Facebook. Facebook needs to be a key part of the growth of this institution IMHO. No problem parking on Crescent Heights--just watch for cleaning day. They also have their own parking lot. Nice building, great area.

Let me first say that I'm not a regular attendee of Temple. My husband goes every year for the…read morehigh holy holidays and that's about it. No regrets, that's what we feel comfortable doing. We've been attending Temple KI's services for well over 15 years and we've seen many ups and downs at the Temple which is typical for a small local temple. However, Rabbi Elias and Kantor Greenberg are both awesome and have been constant sources of wisdom throughout the entire time we've been coming here. The Rabbi's sermons are always filled with REAL information to help us in life with a little humor tossed in to keep everyone on their toes Cantor Greenberg has an amazing voice (and now his son is following in his footsteps). His singing of the Torah portions and his gentle voice during prayers are inspirational. The president (currently Harvey) and vice president (currently Stacey) along with the Rabbi's wife, Tina, have also been at the temple for as long as we've been going there. So there's a real great group of core individuals who keep the Temple running. The Rabbi even stays to answer questions and help anyone with Hebrew learning after services. The place is really very simple and unassuming. ANYONE can walk in and feel welcomed. The congregants vary in their Hebrew and Torah reading skills but no one judges. So everyone can feel at home here. The service is traditional conservative / reformed. No frills, just the basics. They don't ask for very much in return either. If you can afford a few bucks, they'll gladly accept it. If you can do more, it's appreciated just as much. If you can't afford a dime, IT'S OK. You can stay and participate regardless if you can contribute or not. I would recommend to ANYONE that would like to enjoy a guilt free day at Temple during the high holy days or any other time of the year to come in and check them out. You'll always feel welcome at Temple KI. Here's a link to their web site: http://www.templeki.org/home
