The staff here is fabulous and it gives off the best vibes. You could spend an hour looking through all of the different categories and getting lost in the pages. I appreciate the strange variety and the fact that books range from old to ancient to almost brand new. Always something to discover. The cats are an added bonus and the kind staff the cherry on top. I grabbed a book that had been on my "to read" list for the longest time and am so grateful this gem of an institution exists. Add it to your museum district itinerary with visitors or just go when you need a friend in cat or book form.

I ordered the chai and found it a bit too spiced for my liking. However it was good enough to enjoy and fuel a morning of working and reading, along with some pastries as a complementing snack. They've got an collection of Black books all around-- might be interesting to peruse if that's your cup of tea. I took it back the next day hoping for a refund(preferable) NIO or a swap for the one people can actually use. I was told they do not exchange open tech regardless of the circumstance. Manager was standing directly behind the cashier but would not acknowledge the transaction. There is no sign in the store or note on the receipt stating that there is a no return policy on opened electronics. Terrible customer service.

In past visits, they've helped me find a nice gift according to some vague parameters, and were helpful for returns at the counter. Yes the selection is great, nicely organized into the authors last names, there is a small dinky "new release" section and nearby a "0.85-1.95" bookshelf. They at least cost $7.95, the cheapest non sale books are $3.95, and it can go up as high as $17.95. In the future people will shop for used books on Amazon instead of coming here. Even the resale price for bringing your books here isn't worth it. Go to mostly books, it has a bigger selection that is much cheaper.

Now it's up in Old City, which probably isn't a bad place for it. It's near Big Jar, which I think is a MUCH better used book store. Book Trader is still pretty huge. It has a large selection of books but they are often very disorganized and not well filtered. It isn't that I need my books chosen for me but I wouldn't mind not having to weed through the real crap. Usually if I can't find what I need at Big Jar I'll hit up Book Trader.

They've got pretty much only the assigned texts for CCP classes, which is good for CCP students (although I'm not one, so my visit there was pretty useless for me). Also, the store is tiny, and I couldn't even get in the door at first because of the line of students. It's not the type of store where you can peruse the aisles of books yourself. Instead, you go in and go up to a counter, where you ask the person behind the counter for the book you need. They get it for you, and then you check out. I won't be going back here again, but that's because I don't go to CCP and, hence, don't need any of the books they sell.
