I can generally get an appointment pretty quick. Her nurses are super friendly and the facility is clean and new. She takes time to come in the exam room and sits down and asks how I'm doing. What's troubling me, how I feel. She never scolds me but gives me useful suggestions. I feel she cares about my health. She doesn't throw a lot of medical jargon at me or make me feel unimportant or rush me out. I referred my co workers to her and even my mom. They all have had great things to say. If your looking for a doctor who talks to you like a real person then go with dr sandell.

I knew I shouldn't have gone to the ER today, but I couldn't breathe if I did any walking or moving and was so dizzy the last couple of days I couldn't ignore it. My legs were swollen and I was scared it was a blood clot or a heart problem. While waiting for hours and hours I had to call the nurse in five times to remind her to change my iv from one med to the other or that one bag was done. She never came in on her own! Anyways long story short...after the meds didn't work the doctor instantly got mad and acted like I was faking it. Instead of slowing down and listening long enough for me to tell him I don't metabolize meds normally he just sent me on my way feeling no better with my blood pressure way too high, feeling too dizzy to walk and not able to breathe. He was so rude it was crazy! He asked what our problem was and said to go to my regular doctor if I really wanted to know what was wrong. I don't know why I even went there because all I've ever seen/experienced with family and friends at Mercy's ER over the last couple of years is problems and rude staff. I had a extremely painful rash on my face, neck, scalp, armpit, and groin area. I had been seen…read morehere for these issues a total of 6 times for this issue. Going to People's for 10+ years with two of my children. This rash flared up on my face and was so extremely itchy and painful so I decided to go in to People's again. This doctor named Samantha told me it was acne again. I decided to use my god given right and leave her appointment to get a second opinion. This doctor here accused me of acting erratic and said I was on drugs because of scabs on my face. Later that night DHS and a police officer showed up at my house to tell me about these allegations made against me. I had to wear a drug patch on my arm for a week to prove I was not on meth. And now am anticipating a home visit by DHS all thanks to this doctor. I am so incredibly disgusted to find out this hospital would accuse me of such things. All because I exercise my human right which is free will free choice. Since then my drug test came back perfectly fine and I have been referred to a dermatologist who has classified my rashes as unspecified and also they believe it's eczema or psoriasis. I refuse to ever go back to this hospital again. Anybody that I talk to I will refer them and tell them to not go there according to my experience. It's truly horrifying what this doctor accused a single mother of when she knew the truth and she was just simply offended I did not take her diagnosis. I have already did an intake at another local hospital which is where I'll be taking my children also. I hope nobody ever goes through what I went through. Please if you feel a doctor is not listening to your symptoms and diagnosing you wrong please go get second opinion no matter what that is your right!
