Highly recommend going here for a small wedding! Loveta makes the process really simple and for a reasonable price. My dream was to have the wedding at the chapel, of course. All that was in place, but considering we aren't in charge of the weather it was supposed to rain on Friday the 29th (and it did) and it was COLD. Wednesday the 27th, Loveta called me and says we should change the venue because of the rain. I, of course was flabbergasted. Loveta, being the experienced one was calm. She HANDLED EVERYTHING. My job was to notify the guests and have them switch. My wedding was better then I envisioned it would be. It was tailored and personalized to us as a couple. We can not thank you enough. We were married at the Annapolis Wedding Chapel on 2/28/18. Every single detail was thought of. I'm so thankful for Loveta. Our ceremony was absolutely perfect. She didn't even miss one single detail. Things I never expected but received: A personalized ceremony, that ceremony printed out for me to take home and read again. My theme is Maryland flag print, she came with her scarf in MD flag, the ribbon tied on on my care package was MD flag print. Not only is Loveta incredibly professional, she is extremely thoughtful. If you are looking for an alternative to the court house for a small wedding, this is the place. I can't imagine anyone giving the venue or officiant/owner less that 5 stars. My husband and I were married here on November 11th. Everything went perfectly. When we arrived the chapel was beautifully decorated and everything was set up and ready to go. Loveta was very well prepared for everything. Even if you aren't going to get married at the chapel, she would be the perfect officiant for any venue. Both my husband and I were very impressed with Loveta's service. Our family cannot stop talking about it. This is the perfect place for your intimate wedding. Loveta gets 10 stars all the way, however the photographer that was recommended was terrible. She was difficult to get a hold of, but it was a quick wedding, so no problem, that wasn't really a problem. We booked an hour and a half session. She kept asking us what we wanted to do, she's the photographer she should know. We paid for the hour and a half and she left after an hour. The few pictures she did take took forever to get back to us and when they did they looked like they were taken by a nice camera, but not done by a professional. Unfortunately I asked that no one else have their cameras out, so sorry I did, I may have gotten some nice photos if I hadn't. I didn't originally want to post this, but I have since talked to a friend that used the same photographer and she was extremely dissapointed. A second friend also had a disappointing experience with this photographer, so I felt I should warn the next couple. So I will start by saying Loveta is awesome. She is flexible, down-to-Earth, and she puts together a beautiful ceremony with a lot of love and a little humor (the perfect balance in my opinion). My husband and I were originally set up to have our wedding at the chapel itself in the garden, but unfortunately it rained on our wedding day and we had to improvise. Since the indoor chapel was a little small for our 24 person group, we asked Loveta if she would be willing to do the ceremony at the Maryland Inn and she was more than happy to make the change. Everything went beautifully even with the less than favorable weather. Loveta also put together a packet for us including the license, our ceremony, and all the paperwork I would need to change my name. It has been really helpful so far and I really appreciated that she did that. Even if your wedding is too large to have at the chapel, I highly recommend Loveta as an officiant. What a beautiful, serene setting in which to have a small, private wedding ceremony! The grounds are meticulous and the flowers are beautiful. The ceremony was very appropriately worded for our daughter and new son-in-law. Additionally, the folder given to them at the end of our visit contained their marriage certificate as well as instructions and reminders of all the things they needed to do and accounts that needed to be updated with their new status - very helpful! I found this place by accident and so glad that I did. My partner and I were set to go the courthouse route for our ceremony and have a more formal ceremony for family and friends later. The reason being, my partner's mother was terminally ill and it was important for him that we wed before she passed. I called Loveta to reserve a time for our main event. But when I explained our situation to Loveta, she told us to skip the courthouse and that she would marry us for free in a couple of days if we were still going to do the bigger ceremony later. Of course we took her up on her generous offer! The chapel is very intimate and she has it set up just right. We had four of our friends and family to witness the perfect words that Loveta had prepared for our ceremony. Words that spoke so perfectly to us. My sister had thought that Loveta was someone we had known for years even though I had only spoke to her on the phone for about 20 minutes before our day! The grounds are beautifully landscaped and perfect for pictures. After the ceremony you get your license, forms for ordering copies and a copy of your ceremony wrapped up in a bow-tied package. I HIGHLY recommend The Annapolis Wedding Chapel--especially if like us, you are a same sex couple. You will find that Loveta is friendly, organized, and professional-and a fan of pets! She will expect you to include your pet on your special day (even though we didn't due to our dog's advanced age). I came here as a guest for a wedding. It was very cozy and there can only be a max of 10 guests indoors. It was such a lovely ceremony, very personal, and you still get the wedding feel. I made 2 changes to my ceremony 2-3 before the ceremony and she had no problem accommodating us. If you're looking for a small romantic place, Annapolis wedding chapel is it! Everyone that we invited said the place was beautiful and they are still talking 2 weeks later :-). I've read reviews about Loveta being "rude" and I can't believe it. From the very beginning she was straight forward and to the point. Excellent! Lovita is very organized and made my day stress free from my walk down the aisle to keeping my guests in line when they were not allowing my photographer to do her job. All my guests loved the intimate ceremony with a few laughs thrown in. She is very prompt in returning phone calls and answering questions. If you want a small, but romantic ceremony then this is the place for you. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and looks picturesque. You dont have to provide any flowers for decorations because Lovita's seasonal flowers are in full bloom. read more

The weather and scenery was perfect - it was a chilly day but we gifted our guests blankets to stay warm. Unfortunately, Loveta was much more abrupt and rude to my guests, my mother and my husband than I cared for. This was my wedding day and it wasn't up to her to speak to my guests so rudely. My mother didn't understand the instructions of walking me down the aisle...I didn't care. That's such a small detail for such a beautiful day but Loveta spoke to her like she was a toddler not understanding instructions. Then, she spoke to my husband rudely, demanding that he hand over the marriage certificate NOW...as if the county clerk was waiting on us specifically. She charged us extra for moving the chairs back outside - even though I specifically told her that I want the event outside unless it's raining. She wasn't even the one who moved the chairs - my husband did. She ended up charging us an extra $120 dollars for that! We also specifically said that we do not want any religious tones in our ceremony and low and behold, she says something about us wanting God to bear witness to us on our special day. That was awkward and made the wedding lack authenticity the second the words came out of her mouth. I'd say for the money, this was a good deal. Unfortunately, after being charged extra and having to put up with someone else's attitude on MY day, it wasn't worth it. All of my guests were coming up to me commenting on how rude she was speaking to everyone...like our wedding was supposed to be run like some kind of military operation. It took away quite a bit of the magic and I just can't recommend this place to anyone else, despite all the other positive reviews it receives. read more
