I thoroughly enjoyed the classic hot chocolate. (I went with milk instead of water.) I just love…read morethe scent of traditional Mexican hot chocolate, and its presentation was lovely!
I also had the memelas (mixto) and thought the chorizo particularly tasty without being overly spicy, always a plus for me. My husband had the Aztec soup, also beautiful, and he enjoyed it very much.
There were pleasant tables outside and inside, and festive flags draped across the ceiling. We thought the potted plants were cool; one was cacao and one was vanilla bean. Service was excellent, very nice people. You can buy some chocolate products which would make nice gifts.
We would definitely go back.
PS: I did go back, and enjoyed the delicious cocoa again! And I also discovered "chapulines," salted crisp-fried grasshoppers, low in fat and high in protein, a proud traditional Oaxacan cuisine still commonly eaten.
