So glad Thair is open again for haircuts. I got my haircut by Traci, the owner. She's amazing &…read moreI've been coming here for years. The new location is even closer to the subway exit at Ranleigh. They were at a different spot on Yonge street before. This location now is larger, on the ground floor & more open. I love it. The front of the salon has shelves with the products they sell. It also serves as the reception area with two chairs & a desk where their receptionist is. Then beyond that you will see the salon chairs where all the cutting & hair colouring takes place. In the middle of the first floor are the basins for washing peoples hair. There's a space behind the basins with a big long table where the manicures get done. Then at the back of the salon is a single bathroom. I've been told the facials & massages get done on the lower level. I haven't been down there yet but I'm booked for a facial in three weeks so I'll update my review afterwards. Traci cut my hair on this occasion & I asked her to cut it shorter than usual. She washed my hair & then the cut itself took about 40-25 minutes. We chatted during the cut. I haven't been to the salon since October 2020 because of covid. Traci did an amazing job on me as usual. Since it was super humid & hot the day I came I asked for no blow dry. So she just added some styling product to my hair & I was ready to go! I got some hydrating hand sanitizer to try & asked about the NuFace machines. They gave me lots of info on NuFace which is a microcurrent machine used to help improve your skin. They use it in their facials too. I'm going to save up & get one in the future. Anyway I really recommend this place as they are eco-friendly. They also have great service, great staff. Love the way their salon looks too. Expect to pay for quality. This is not one of those places that charges $12 for a haircut. For me their prices are totally worth it as my whole experience here from start to finish is golden. Their products being eco-friendly are pricier than drug store finds too. But if eco-friendly & non-toxic is important to you this is the place to go to.

I asked for balayage she gave me ombre and made me look like a skunk. the assistant hurt me when brushing through my hair so bad I was almost in tears she also took 6 hours to do my hair!! I was there from ten am until 6 pm. Weeks after I had breakage as I brushed my hair little pieces would fall out. when I asked to speak to the manager I was treated with disrespec. The owner Jordan was also disrespectful. They also have a new online system where they make you pay your deposit before hand and tell you the total is 315 only to tell you it is actually 350. They are rude and all they care about is your money not your hair and have no human decency of how to speak to people on the phone. they scammers there is no option to cancel online your appointment after they receive you deposit they don't answer the phone and then purposely will tell you the manager isn't available so you don't talk to them and you can't cancel your appointment.

I was lucky to get an appointment in the same week, I was monitoring the website looking for openings since I was desperate after the long lockdown. When I arrived, I had to text a number and someone came to get me from inside the salon. They were great about physical distancing and covid safety measures with clear dividers between each salon chair and hair washing stations. Droudy was excellent, she was gentle and patient and was able to understand exactly what I wanted even with my less than optimal descriptions. I told her I cut my hair myself and she said she would be able to fix it and clean it all up for me. She also took her time to explain what exactly she was going to do by showing me the back of my hair and explaining what would look best. The whole experience was very therapeutic and exactly what I needed. Even after she blow dried my hair, I asked her to cut the front pieces a bit shorter and she was happy to accommodate. She also asked me if I was ok with all the products she was using which is something no other hair stylist has ever asked before - small touch but I really appreciated it. I will 100% be returning to Civello to see Droudy for all my future hair appointments!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. Gene completely ruined my hair…read more I went in for a consultation first where we both agreed on what I wanted. I clearly explained that I wanted an electric blue colour and even showed him multiple reference photos. He told me he understood my vision and said he could achieve it. The next day I had my appointment. He started bleaching my hair at 3:08 PM and didn't wash the bleach out until 6:57 PM. After the first round of bleach he told me he had reached the colour needed for the blue I wanted, and I was very happy. However, he then told me he was planning to do a blue-black colour. I immediately told him that if it was going to be blue-black, I wanted it lighter instead. He reassured me that he could still achieve the lighter blue. After the second round of bleach, he applied a very vibrant purple dye. I was extremely confused, and even the friends I was on the phone with at the time were confused because purple was never part of the plan. When I asked him about it, he told me to "trust him," which I did because he is supposed to be a specialist. When we were waiting, I asked about the price and he said it would be $450, which already seemed very high to me. Then when we went to wash my hair, he immediately started brushing it while it was wet. My hair stayed a bright purple and I started to panic. When I touched it, it felt like elastic and was extremely damaged. I started crying and told him I did not want him touching my hair anymore because it was clearly ruined. Despite completely damaging my hair, he still demanded payment and would not let me leave until I paid something. He even blocked the way and blamed the damage on me, saying I caused it myself. I have been dyeing my hair since I was 13 years old and I have NEVER experienced damage like this from any stylist until now. I did NOT want purple hair, and I definitely did not want hair that feels like elastic and is completely destroyed. This experience was incredibly upsetting and unprofessional. I hope no one else has to go through what I did. If i could i would give this place a 0 star review

LOVEE THIS SALON! The best one for colour in Mississauga!…read more I came in with super brassy orange ends and Gene took my hair to this beautiful ashy grey blonde balayage. The last place I went to overcharged me and only dyed the top 3/4 of my hair (not close to the roots). Gene was the exact opposite: he took his time on each strand of hair (a perfectionist), was incredibly attentive, and told me what he was doing each step of the way. The salon is run by a couple (Gene and Mariam) and they are such funny, kind, and patient people. They made the salon experience so much more comfortable, especially given that the balayage process took ~5 hours. The pricing is also really reasonable, compared to other places I've been. Overall, I highly recommend this salon. I'm definitely going back!
