It clearly caters for older ladies, with a selection of functional and basic underwear. They also stock some uninspiring clothes and a lot of costume jewellery. It really isn't my cup of tea, but there is obviously a market for it in Cradley Heath. In all honesty, this shop makes me a bit as scared about getting old.

Merry Hill is a big shopping centre located in Brierley Hill, it is home to over 200 shops such as…read moreM&S, Debenhams, Topman, River Island etc.. Over recent years it has become less of the giants in shopping centres of the UK. There are plenty of places to eat from Burger king to Pizza hut, however there are quite a few smaller cafes to eat from and a Millies cookies! Parking is not a problem in the weekday, however on Saturdays and around Christmas you have to be there when they open. Other shops in Merry Hill include Disney Shop, Game, HMV, WHSmith and much more. However, Over recent years it has gone down hill slightly purely at the groups that hang around the bus station and the general crowdidness of it at times. I would recommend a trip to Birmingham to the Bullring which has better shops and better ambiance anyway.

I went and found someone else who went 'to check if what I wanted was in stock', never to be seen again. Eventually the original girl walked past me and I reminded her that I had been waiting for ages for some help. She clearly wasn't interested in the slightest and carried on chatting and laughing with her friend on the headset while I tried to ask my question so I gave up and left. There seems to be no interest whatsoever in helping customers.

Great experience today with my two kids (8yrs & 5yrs)…read more Both my kids were invited to a build a bear party. We arrived and kids greeted with a lovely welcome and given name stickers. They were then shown a choice of 3 bears to pick (this would be their own bear). They then (7 kids) did various activities as they moved across the store. (The party took place in the store whilst it was still open to the public which was a little odd but somehow worked). Kids then took in turns to pick a heart for their bear, stuff their bear and chose one top they could keep. After all bears were stuffed they then played hide and seek with the bears and the store mascot. At the end of the party they all got to keep their bears and received a 'birth certificate'. The party costs from £10 per child (£13 for this one which includes top), a bear for each guest & host. We have been to the store on numerous occasions and have always been greeted by polite staff who are happy to help and make the kids feel special. A lovely shop concept for all kids who still enjoy a traditional 'teddy bear' toy.

When i was a kid i would come here every week with my grandparents while they went shopping and i had fond memories of it. I remember it being crowded and having to wait in line at some stalls to be served, having been there as a child i remember the toy stalls vividly; all the colours and recognisable characters from the cartoons. A warm memory. Going back now, today in fact, was a sad trip. This place (like most markets) are in fast decline. I walked around and counted around 9 active stalls, most of which were barebones and had little stock. Some had no shop keepers attending at all. The most active stall was the butchers near the front. Its heart wrenching that its all come to this, when Tesco came into town it basically put the last bullet in the head of all independent businesses. There was no one walking around at all, like something from a horror film. I wonder if we will ever see a resurrection of small indoor markets outside of big cities? Who knows.

Cradley Heath's independent traders have struggled since Tesco opened a behemoth of a store on the high street. And nowhere is this more apparent than on the market. Doom and gloom aside, I quite like some of the stalls, especially the Teddy Gray's sweet stall and the household good stall (great for cheap cleaning products and kitchen roll). There's a decent fish mongers tucked up in the back right hand corner. The Market café has been the scene for many of my hung-over Saturday morning breakfasts. Don't let the appearance of the place put you off (it is perhaps best described as "a bit skanky"), they do a great full English. Pay it a visit and show some support. Places like this are fading fast and only our custom can keep them going!
