Chie Chie sells a range of really unique clothes and accessories and whatever the occasion you are buying for, Chie Chie will have the perfect outfit for it. This shop sells lots of high quality clothing, particularly dresses and work outfits such as smart trousers and blouses. They offer a very eclectic range of fashions and materials, such as silk dresses and cashmere cardigans. Because of the quality nature of the clothes they sell, Chie Chie's clothes are a tad on the pricey side, but you know that whatever you bu it is going to last a long time. The sales assistants were friendly and happy to help. If you are looking for something different and want to break away from the trend of buying clothes from the high street stores, Chie Chie is a fantastic place to shop at.

Inside, the clothes were just as gorgeous as I'd expected from the window. It's so annoying when you go somewhere only to find that all the good stuff is in the window and everything inside just doesn't live up to your expectations. Thankfully, this certainly wasn't the case here. I was greeted by the shop assistant as soon as I entered, it made the place a lot more relaxed and the shop assistant was happy to let me browse at my leisure. I noticed some stunning dresses a little black number in particular caught my eye but it was a little bit out of my price range. The clothing is Chie Chie is gorgeous and individual and if you're looking for a special outfit then pop in to see what's on offer.

The store owner is also a PIRATE. Not really. Kind of. He kind of looks like a pirate. He's really nice! So friendly! In short, great clothing and you get to meet a pirate. Kind of.

This place is falling apart…read more The women's dressing rooms are disgusting. Curtains that no longer close are being held to the wall with chewing gum. I overheard one attendant tell a customer than they had two stalls open but that the lights in them don't work, so they'd have to get dressed in the dark. I'm not sure if they under-order smaller sizes, but there are always a million size 12+ on the racks and almost never any 8s or 6s. I'm actually size 12 so this is great for me, but woe to anyone smaller. You get what you pay for I guess, but this place is depressing to shop in.

Mrs Smith sells really smart and sophisticated clothes for women. Most of their clothes are 'work' clothes, such as nice trousers and blouses, but there are also plenty of lovely dresses and skirts which are very summery. Mrs Smith is a relatively new addition to the Edinburgh fashion boutique seen as it opened last year. Personal stylists are available which is fantastic as they are able to assist you if you are unsure which colours go or what style of clothes suit your body shape. The clothes in this store are of excellent quality and will last for years, and as a result, they are a wee bit pricey. If I am ever looking for a lovely outfit to wear to work, Mrs Smith is my first and only port of call. Amazing.

They do great prices on basics such as vests and if something is in fashion they normally have a cheaper value price on one of them so that people can always afford to own one. Even the most expensive itrems are not really that expensive. I like the sizes aswell, a 12 is actually a 12 not an 8 and I dont even have to try stuff on as if you know something fits you in one size everything else will fit you in that size, as all items are sized the same. Kudos offer an absolutely stunning range of bridal and evening wear suitable for every special occasion. For the bride, they offer a huge range of different styles of wedding dress and their sizes go up to 30 so they can accommodate women of every shape and size - amazing! Kudos also sell bridesmaid's dresses and stock a range of different designers so there is a huge selection of dresses to choose from. There are plenty of Mother of the Bride outfits available in a range of different styles and colours. Kudos also sell a fantastic range of evening and prom dresses in every style and colour so whatever the occasion, Kudos will have the perfect outfit. The staff are lovely and inviting and provide such a great shopping experience that are bound to leave the shop with a smile on your face. The dresses in Kudos are so beautiful that it is always the place I go to in order to buy a party dress.

As with most of the shops in Bruntsfield Place, Variations Boutique is a specialist store, selling high quality clothes at quite a high price. Variations Boutique sells a whole range of designer ladies wear, ranging from practical work outfits to lovely party dresses. I bought a gorgeous flowery dress from this store a few months ago, which cost around £60, which is very well made and extremely versatile as I wear it both during the day and in the evenings for going out - I love it! Variations Boutique also sells a range of accessories including beautiful jewellery, handbags and scarves. The staff in this store are lovely and inviting, and they also leave you alone to let you browse the shop in peace - the best combination.

Next at Straiton has recently expanded and is much better! The new store is an absolute labyrinth…read moreand I found myself getting lost many times. On the ground floor, there is womenswear, childrenswear, furniture and Beaverbrooks the jeweller. When you walk in, there is a big double height ceiling which really opens up the place! Upstairs pays host to menswear and homewares. There is also a Paperchase (yay!) and a small Costa Coffee. (yay again!) There are also toilets up here which are clean, spacious and bright. My favourite thing has got to be the furniture department because you are free to sit on the sofas and pretend you live a perfect life while you sip your Costa coffee. I was very impressed with the size of the shop and the Paperchase and Costa were doing a roaring trade with queues stretching out round through the shop. I'm glad that the old cramped store is now gone and we have this new one to serve us!
