We have had a great experience with Ann Arbor Christian School (AACS) on multiple levels. Two of our young children are currently matriculated at AACS and have been there for at least three years. Their educational experience has been strong and the small class size permits greater attention from the teachers and a more individualized teaching plan. The other students are well-behaved and respectful, complementing the faith-based approach to the educational environment. Students from more advanced grades also have structured interactions with students in the earlier grades, facilitating the development of age-independent friendships, mentorship, and responsibility. This results in an emphasis on faith, integrity, respect, and compassion usually not found in non-faith-based schools. We feel that AACS provides our children with all educational opportunities and experiences found in larger schools. Infrastructure is great and we know there are plans for even further expansion. We find the location of the school ideal because of its proximity to the city of Ann Arbor, yet it is situated in a less-congested area where traffic is not a problem and access to the school during drop-off and pick-up is convenient and expedient. Most importantly, the community of student families, educators, and staff that comprise AACS has been very warm, welcoming and supportive. Our family has experienced a health crisis and the AACS community has responded in force with an outpouring of prayers, meal chain, volunteer daycare, and frequent checks with us that all have provided a source of warmth and strength. This community response is a great example of how AACS values students and families. In sum, we highly recommend families to consider AACS for their children and those who choose to enroll their children and become part of AACS will be rewarded with an educational, spiritual, and community experience that is difficult to find elsewhere. read more

My husband and I have always felt adamantly that we wanted our children to attend public school. Although we had nothing against private schools, we felt confident that would not be the right fit for us. In spite of hearing from numerous friends about how wonderful AACS was, we held firm to this assumption. After several years and frankly lots of great experiences in the public schools, there came a point where we began to have some questions and wondered what other options might look like. We decided to take a tour of AACS based on recommendations from several friends. We agreed that we were not moving our kids, but as soon as we began the tour, it became very clear that this school offered something unique and we could see our kids truly thriving there. Indeed, God had other intentions for us and had lead us to this amazing school. We have now completed two years at the school (including all of the pandemic) and have truly been amazed. The school has met and exceeded all of our hopes, even during the incredible challenges that Covid delivered. Ann Arbor Christian School is the finest, most well rounded Christian educational institution that you will find in Washtenaw County. One of the best parenting decisions that my husband and I ever made for our children was to invest into their education for their primary school years. Not only are they getting a superior education, but the school is giving them the foundational building blocks for our children to develop strong characters. These character traits they are learning will carry them into their teenage and adult years. We have a student that just graduated from Ann Arbor Christian and is now at Dexter High School. Our family came to Ann Arbor Christian School 7 years ago and it's one of the best decisions we ever made. Besides having a very strong academic experience, this school is a true community. The teachers are excellent and truly care about the students. While our son has certainly had some particular "favorite" teachers over the years, I can honestly say there has not been one teacher that we've ever felt disappointed about. We were so pleased with our experience at the PK-8 campus that when AACS launched a high school, we were one of the first to jump on board. That too has been an excellent experience so far. We have had our kids at the school for 4 years now and we love it so much. They receive high quality instruction from caring, loving teachers. They get a well-rounded, excellent education where parents are not pushed aside, but are invited and encouraged to participate. The school feels like a big community for both the parents and the students. It does a great job getting the older grades to care for and mentor the younger grades through the chapel families program. In a world that is continually adding tempting distractions all around our children, we have found an oasis of learning, love, and Christian living at Ann Arbor Christian School. Our oldest son began Kindergarten there this past fall, and comes home everyday with a genuine smile and enthusiastic stories of what he learned at school that day. We moved to the area last year and enrolled all 3 of our children here and have been very happy here. I can't say enough about how wonderful the environment is at AACS. The teachers are very loving while at the same time holding the kids to high academic standards, and always teaching the children to treat others with love and respect.
