Let me tell you something about my cat: she's a real diva. Every cat stereotype that's out there,…read moreshe's basically that. So when it came time to bring her to the vet I was biting my nails with anxiety. She's my baby and I was worried for her AND I was worried for the people that would have to deal with her. Now I ended up not going along for the appointment but I got a surprising report back from my boyfriend. I guess the staff knew how to win her over. She didn't hiss or scratch at anyone and she even came out of her crate. I was told they said they wished more cats were like her! Talk about my mind being blown. We took her to the emergency vet prior and she hissed at the vet when she hadn't even touched her yet. The emergency vet said she'd probably have to be sedated when she'd see her normal vet. However, they didn't have to sedate her because they knew how to handle her and did such a fabulous job with her. The visit was quick and painless and they were out in a few minutes. The emergency clinic recommended Westmonte and I'm glad they did!

They go above and beyond to make both pets (and pet parents) comfortable. While a flower delivery and sympathy card weren't on our mind from the vet, that's just a single example of the thought that is behind everything they do. They truly are a class act and perfect example of compassionate service in Orlando. I send all of my friends here when they're in the market for a new vet. Not only are the doctors kind and thorough, but the techs and front desk staff are what really make the difference. They get to know you and your pet and are always rooting for your furry companions. I fully believe they are a large reason why my girls have lived so long - they do routine bloodwork and have caught so many underlying issues throughout the last 6 years between the 2 of our girls (high blood pressure, hyperthyroid, all the things you don't think of for a cat). We've shed a lot of tears in Garden Vet recently, and I want to thank the whole team for taking such good care of Darla and us. Grief is not linear, and can be absolutely overwhelming. We're still healing, but we know Darla was in the best hands.

I always appreciated their care. The way they treated me on the final day of my fur baby's life is something I will never forget. I had been in a month before assessing my (almost) 19-year-old Maltese, and while my mother, sister, and mother-in-law were all vocal that "it's time", my husband and I wanted to do her end-of-life care at home. On the final day, I called the vet's office and asked for a different cough medicine because it wasn't working anymore. Jessica was super kind, and I felt like she almost felt sorry for me because it was clear to everyone that we were holding on way past time. She kindly said she would get with the vet and call me back. I called her again with another follow-up piece of information about the cough's increasing intensity. And finally, when my husband and I faced the fact that she was likely in heart failure or in some other way at risk of a painful death (TMI to list all symptoms here) - I called a 3rd time and could barely utter the words "hi, it's Nellie's mom again. It's time". That was all I could get out. She didn't ask questions; she only facilitated a time that was best for me. We brought Nellie in, and the veterinary assistant and the vet could not have been any more compassionate and reassuring. I've had two other dogs, one euthanized over 10 years ago, and another one died in the OR, and no other vet and team was this compassionate. The kicker, I just received a handwritten card from their doctor and staff. I really don't have time to be writing a novel today as I prepare for a trip and on Super Bowl Sunday before company comes, but for those who are fed up with the corporate-run, money-first, pet-last, pushy clinics, this is the place to go.

I will admit I was not a fan of this practice having a bad experience with them back in 2021 before…read morethey moved to their current location. However, I was recommended to go there for post op care for my dog, Bubby, who had Splenectomy surgery at Helping Hands. My dog would need to stay overnight to heal. I did look at other options but decided since Helping Hands recommended them, I would go. I took my dog there around 5:00 in the evening and they took him, took all my paperwork from HH and the doctor came in and went over post op care. She was nice but the Vet Tech, Anna, was phenomenal! I went home and they called me at 11:30 and said Bubby needed a blood transfusion which I said yes of course. I went to pick him up the next morning, but they recommended keeping him until Sunday. They let me visit with him and he was doing good but needed to be monitored. I called a couple of times to check on him and they are hard to get through to but I knew they would call me if they needed to. I went Sunday to pick him up and he did great. They were kind and they took care of Bubby wonderfully. I then had to take my other dog, Doodles, there for a bona fide emergency after my vet's office told me she needed surgery asap. Unbelievably, she needed a Splenectomy too. I drove directly there from my vet's office. This was about 1.5 months from the last time I was there. Dr. Belleville (I believe that was her name) looked her over and took the notes I brought from my vet and scheduled her surgery for that night. They quoted me $10,000 but I knew it was emergency surgery and I opened a Care Credit right there. The doctor called me from surgery and told me the tumor was around her organs and there was nothing that they could do and recommended euthanasia. I was devasted but I knew they did all they could do - again the Vet Tech, Latisha, was phenomenal. They had her ashes delivered to my vet's office so I could pick them up. They refunded me most of the money since the quote was for successful surgery and aftercare. The doctor was very compassionate while on the phone. It was expensive but so is human medicine. I don't think it is fair to say the practice only wants your money. The stress in their jobs is something I cannot fathom and with emotions running high and matters of life and death on both sides, they do a great job and I would recommend them.

I'm very grateful that my cat, Beau, is okay, and I want to be clear that the veterinarian who…read moretreated him was kind, professional, communicative, and took the situation seriously. The medical care itself was good. Unfortunately, the customer experience was not. I brought Beau in after witnessing him swallow hair ties, and I was terrified he might have an intestinal obstruction or need surgery. While I was sitting in the room crying and waiting for answers, a staff member came in to discuss pricing in a way that felt extremely cold and transactional, with almost no acknowledgment of what was happening or the fact that I was visibly distressed. I later specifically asked the front desk that this staff member not be sent back into the room. That request was ignored. She returned to address my complaint directly and told me, essentially, that this was "just her personality." In an already stressful emergency, that made the situation significantly worse. The veterinarian handled my concerns appropriately and apologized, which I appreciated. But emergency veterinary care requires more than competent medical treatment. People are often walking through the door scared, upset, and worried that they may lose a member of their family. Basic compassion matters. I'm thankful Beau is safe, but I left deeply disappointed in how I was treated. If you have another emergency veterinary option nearby, I would seriously consider it to avoid having a similar experience.
