No problem booking the ride (we called their dispatch earlier to book), and the cab was precisely on time, to the minute (despite it being a horrid wintery and stormy day with dismal driving conditions outside). My ride was super safe yet quick (I don't often say that about taxi rides. Usually it's one or the other), and the driver was friendly, too (bonus!). The fare was comparable to all other cab rides I had to and from the airport. If I were ranking Atlas on this airport ride alone, it'd rank 5 stars. However, the week earlier I tried to book a ride for my mom and me to go from my folks' residence to a spa in Old Montreal. We had SO many problems booking Atlas at that time: their online booking service was not working, and whenever I called their dispatch, nobody answered their phones. It just rang and rang. I'm not sure if their lines were down or if they were super busy or what, but after 30 minutes of trying to book a cab with them, I gave up and booked a Diamond cab ride (which was no problem at all, online. Took a minute). So go figure.

Taxi Champlain appears to be the company with the most cars around Montreal. The Champlain drivers were courteous, helpful with loading suitcases and knew their way around very well. They also all spoke English as one of the taxis I took in the rain ended up being something else with a driver who not only did not understand English but was rude. Cars were clean and are mainly Buick Allures and Toyota Camrys. They also have brand new Siennas for groups of 4+

I was struck by the large, boxy, white taxis with the colorful, large "BONJOUR" printed across the sides (I call them "happy cabs"). I'm not sure if this company has a contract with YUL but I usually only see Bonjour cabs there (and I travel to and from Montreal a lot). I really like how the cabs are all big and boxy and thus roomy enough for lots of luggage (and passengers, if you're in a group). My cabbies have always been great, too: efficient, know where they're going, friendly (but not overtly, in a creepy way). And the cabs have always been clean. I notice these things! I like how you can order their cabs online, in advance. When I last did so, I ordered it to arrive at 6:30am, to go to the airport. I was impressed how it arrived15 minutes early and just parked outside, waiting for me. (I don't like being late or waiting on people who are late. One of my pet peeves). What I don't like (and why I'm not giving this cab company 5 stars) has to do with their website. It's all in French and there's no way to click a button to have the site converted into English (as is the case with most Montreal-based companies' websites). My French is rusty, and I like this company so much, I really struggled to order my cab online on their website. Note to Bonjour: get your site translated into English for your out-of-town customers and tourists who don't speak French. You might get a lot more business. (I nearly gave up and went to the Atlas Taxi site).

But after discussing this matter with one of the representatives, we were offered a fair deal. The representative responded quickly, which was so appreciated, as this trip was planned last minute. Finally, the driver was welcoming and punctual. The minivan itself could have been a little more spacious, but given the excellent service we got from this company, I think they still deserve the 5 stars.
