Fantastic fishing camp! Kevin and Debra Geary are awesome hosts - Kevin providing fishing tips and Debra making sure everything in camp is running smoothly. Our cabin was spotless and had everything we needed and the food cooked for every meal was amazing! Wifi worked great all day every day! The fisherman were catching lots of walleye and pike! Highly recommend Anglers Kingdom! read more

Fishing galore! Family friendly! No stress no fuss! Going to a camp means many things- rustic, fresh air, campfires, log cabins, camp based foods, screen doors that swing, water lapping the dock's edge, sunsets, outdoor excursions on a lake(s) that welcome you to millions of schools of prize winning northern pike plus walleye. This camp has all the ingredients for a lake get away! It's also about managing expectations where fishing equipment conditions , the weather, nature, hire of staff, and power supply and water / plumbing facilities to a remote lake community isn't infallible! I come to expect these incidental disruptions are part and parcel of running a camp business and can be completely manageable if you let it. Don't let the rotten bit of luck with the unfortunate forest fire or the weak reviews to the camp influence your thinking to book here! The owners try very hard and also realize hiring staff across this beautiful country to work in remote camps is extremely difficult- if you don't think so then I encourage you to step up and go work there yourself!! Show a little empathy and put yourself in their shoes!! If you're looking for a luxury accommodation or a Hilton or Grand Bahia Principe then head to Mexico in the winter! Now if you're looking for an authentic camp with real life experience and common sense every day reality sprinkled with family hospitality and the best feed of fish you've ever had then chill out, go with the flow, experience the natural beauty of the camp , and choose Anglers!! read more

Let me start by saying our group of guys have been going to Canada fishing our whole life (we are now in our 50s). We have been to many places along the way and decided to try Anglers this year after staying at Nungesser Lake Lodge the last several.. We even convinced a few more family members with children to join us this time after several years of prodding.. This place is a disaster. Water / electricity were a problem all week and there were several issues with the boats. We are pretty easy going so that alone wouldn't upset us but the owner (Kevin) was so unbelievably rude and combative to the point where he was threatening our guests. His employees were clearly afraid of him and while we were there, a few of them left because they hadn't been paid in a month. I don't expect Kevin will be in business for too much longer given the way he runs the camp but, in this day and age of social media, it is so important for folks to understand what they are getting into before they commit to a place for vacation.. Unfortunately, we didn't do the research ahead of time and paid the price. Hopefully, you get this before you book and don't make the mistake of going there.. I hope someone else can take over Anglers at some point.. It is such a great location on Nugesser and we love fishing up there.. For now, we will be looking for another place.. read more

We have a group of guys that started going to Anglers Kingdom 10 years ago or so. I have enjoyed it so much that the past couple of years I have gone twice each summer. What makes it so good is that it is like a fly in camp without having to fly in. The river keeps locals out and it works to keep boating traffic and fishermen to a minimum. It is not a 5 star camp as others have said. It has good accommodations; great boats equipped with what you need; and if you choose-good home cooked meals. The lake is a walleye factory. You still have to hunt the fish as they move day to day often. You may get the once in a lifetime frenzy and get 500 a day for 4 people. Usually we are in the 25-50 a day range a piece. In a week 4 or 5 of us will catch. 50 or more 20 inch and above walleye. biggest we have gotten is 29 inches but 30+ inches are taken in numbers every year. This is probably one of the best value trips available for the price. There have been a few bumps in the road the last couple of years. Two fires--one in camp; and one in the forest around camp in consecutive years caused some issues. Bur Kevin and staff did the best they could to keep camp going and not disappoint people who had their vacations planned. Personally, I trust the camp and if I have an issue it is taken care of. sometimes I need to be a little patient as with the fires--it is an outpost camp and to get repairs done is time consuming. Having a little resilience is a good personal trait. I have several friends I have made in camp over the years and there are some who come back for weeks at a time. That is a testimony to how much they love the camp and the fishing. Highly recommended by me read more

Wow. Never been lied to about a camp like this In my life. Bordering on criminal. Our party of 11 arrived in camp to no water or electric for 3 days. We finally had hot water (a drizzle ) on day 4. All boats had problems. Dock destroyed and dangerous. Not enough life jackets for all. Let me put it this way, 4 of his employees quit (2 while we were in camp) because he's (Kevin Geary) flat out insane and he wasn't paying them. He had no problem forcing us to pay for our week after the third day when he realized we were freaking out about the place and we wanted to leave. He had a fire a few weeks prior and told us we would NOT be inconvenienced one bit by it. No joke here. Stay away from this place. Great Lake but nightmare camp. read more

This Place is terrible - My comments are based upon my experience 4 yrs ago - prior to the fire. went with a group of 6 family members. First day arrived and only had one boat for us that was operational - 6 hrs late got 2nd boat - never got third boat for th entire week - no refund, no sorry no nothing Locators didn't work would read 20 feet and would be in 3 feet Ship to shore radios didn't work Through anchor over - knot came out - was charged $25 Apparently the one boat they gave us had a lower unit issue and the lower unit bolts came loose and was just hanging there - we were in the middle of the lake and had to be towed in for several miles - I know some of you may think that we hit something but I can assure you we absolutely did not. In this camps ads prior to the fire they would say that they had the best boats in Canada and they sucked - cant believe a word this resort says water for showers were either ice cold or scalding hot - no in between A woman - not with are party was walking on the dock and her leg went through a rotten board up to her upper thigh - several of us saw this happen.. In my reservations I scheduled a guide for one of my family members who doesn't really fish much - when we arrived they said that they couldn't find one. Power would go out several hours at a time. If I could I would give this cam a zero - I would not recommend it at all - buyer beware read more

The other negative reviews are no joke. STAY AWAY.This place is a DISASTER. We too were led to believe that the fire that happened would not be an inconvenience to us. Think again. One disaster after another. No water most of the time, let alone getting hot water. Couldn't keep th power on consistently. We basically had to do things ourselves in order to have basic amenities. The cabin our party of 4 was supposed to be in was now the kitchen, and we were jammed into a tiny cabin with nothing. Didn't tell us that until we arrived at the island. BASTARDS. DIDN'T EVEN OFFER IS COMPENSATION FOR WHAT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GET. Kevin had absolutely no interest in any of his guests. Only 3 staff working while we were there, one was a cook that was only there for a week. He left when we did. No house keeping done for us. We had trash pile up in our cabin and no one to remove it. Meals were prepared for us, but were lackluster at best. Place is run down and a dangerous situation. No maintenance. That didn't happen because of his fire. The boats were problematic as well. We caught his son messing around with one of the props on a boat we were assigned claiming he was doing maintenance on it. More like he was trying to switch it out on us with a damaged prop and try and charge us for it. A joke. Stay away. Too bad cause the fishing we did do was great. The lakes are awesome. Too bad this place blows. If you paid a deposit for a reservation, demand it back. Don't suffer like we did. DO NOT BOTHER WITH ANGLERS KINGDOM. IT TRUELY IS AN ANGLERS NIGHTMARE There's better places on this chain of lakes. Kevin will be out of business soon unless he gets off his ass and does something about it, which I see as unlikely. read more

Calling all health & safety inspectors, conservation officers! This place SUCKS. Im sorry I could not put it any differently. The place is literally falling apart and it does not seem like effort is being made to fix this. every piece of equipment they have (boats, quads, radios) is either broken, flat, leaking or just barely held together. The safety radios in the boats are more for show than anything, so god help you in a real emergency on this huge Lake. I stayed here for a week and here is what I experienced: The owner treats his dock hands like slaves, they work way too hard with everything breaking 24/7. One dock hand was stranded out on the Lake from trying to test a motor out and the owner told him to paddle back, meanwhile 4 empty boats sit there and he woundnt even get up to help the guy. The Island the lodge is on is quickly becoming a garbage dump, short walk behind the cabins will prove it to you, do they have a dump permit? My guess is no, as this is Caribou habitat. The one time we used the radio to try and call for help (our motor was clogged) no one answered at all, lucky another boat was nearby. Overfishing by guests, you guessed it... the lodge owner does not bat an eye at the blatant disregard for fishing regulations designed to keep his Lake healthy. The cabin was OK but the hott water stopped working on and off. Not worth having a shower if youre freezing the whole time. The food was okay, but so unhealthy ... everything was deepfried, breaded, greasy, salty and constipating. I never saw a fresh vegetable once other then the small salad that was provided twice out of 5 nights. The lunches were greasy tube meat and processed cheese on white bread with mayo... alright for the first day or two, after that every time i would try to eat that meat there would be a gastrointestinal war inside my gut. Guests boats were breaking down left and right as well as everything else there. Did i mention the state of the kitchen, wow... what a fricken disaster... health inspectors nightmare. Just gross. No reflection on the lovely cooks though. Spend your money at a better lodge, Nungesser Lake is beautiful but this place is pure garbage and certainly no Anglers Kingdom, more like Anglers Nightmare, Anglers Disappointment or Anglers Constipation. read more

Apparently anyone can write anything about any business on here. I hope that rational intelligent people can see through this BS. I own Anglers Kingdom. We had a devastating fire May 20, 2018. That is opening day of the season. We lost our Lodge, dining room, kitchen, cooks cabin, staff cabins, water tower, generator shed and boat house with 24 boats which I found out were not covered when out of the water. Of course all the camps infrastructure was gone and all of our supplies just hauled in for the season. I needed to repurchase everything, rebuild the water system, electrical etc etc. After insurance I estimate I will lose $500,000. The first 10 guests I contacted were 100% convinced I should not cancel the season. I had to decide in 48 hours whether to cancel peoples vacations knowing they would not be able to book elsewhere. I did NOT want my friends and guests miss their annual trip that they look forward and plan for all year. The people who wrote these "reviews" have no idea what is/was happening. For one example -Someone mentioned I had no staff because they all quit. That is completely wrong. I had no staff because I had no place for them to stay. My staff building burned down. I had to use one guest cabin for staff and another as a dining room. This is just one of literally hundreds of things I needed to consider when deciding to continue with the 2018 season. I knew that it would be just myself and Hayden running the camp. I knew I needed a Cook. I knew my wife would help with things in town. I was/am 100% convinced that It would be much better for me financially to cancel the season but I would not do that to my friends/guests. Ask yourself why the "reviews" from these people fail to even mention the fact that I had a fire immediately prior to their arrival. Why would they go out of their way to do these reviews and intentionally lie about me and the camp. I believe it is just a sign of our times and result of social media. No responsibilities, No repercussions. And obviously no compasssion for anyone in a difficult situation. They didin't even mention the fire??? And then called me a liar. I never lied to them even once. They called me insane??? The guy who supplied the "review " at the end of May - (I believe actually might be insane). Said the boats had problems after they swamped the boats during a huge storm. This was after they promised me they would not try and leave the dock with 4 foot waves coming in. It took us a full day just to get the boats unswamped, motors drained etc. The water and electrical were fully functional in 3 cabins that I got ready for them (in 4 days). But they refused to stay in those cabins, insisting they had to stay in the end of camp which we had not had time to set up. Bear in mind I had no place to accommodate ANY workers to get the infrastructure rebuilt. However got it done on one half. It would take a way too long here to describe all of the events of that week. Let me simply state that he/they refused to listen to anything I had to say. For some reason they wanted to turn each event around and "create" problems. Here is the short version. My family has been in the fishing lodge business since 1948. My grand parents, parents, brother and two sisters all built and owned fishing lodges, outposts, airways. I have been in business for 38 years. I doubt I could last this long if I was insane, incompetent and as bad of a person as they try to pretend. I have several hundred friends/guests who visit every year. I invite you to visit and become one of them. Thanks Kevin Geary read more

Kevin and his family have a wonderful camp set on a private island. I have been there twice now, and with all the options in northwestern Ontario, generally you have to have a very good camp to get people to come back, which is what Kevin and his family have. Set in a secluded sandy bay, Kevin's camp has multiple cabins for any size party. Being as far north as he is, as well as dealing with a recent fire at his camp, Anglers Kingdom has good accommodations. Each cabin has a bbq grill, a wood stove, kitchen with cookware, and the large cabin that I stayed in twice has 3 different bedrooms. Kevin also has a meal plan, which I have not tried personally, but is very convenient. Now let's get down to the important stuff, the fishing. Kevin has all Lund tiller boats and 2 single console Lund boats. They have Honda motors that are super quiet and are anywhere from 40 hp to 115 hp! Unprecedented that far north! Each boat also comes with a color gps and fish finder. Super convenient on an unmapped lake so you can mark your spot and head right back to it the next day. Anglers Kingdom is also close to maybe the best spot on the lake, S turn and North bay! When I fished there, average size for wallwas excellent at 20". Biggest during the first trip was 28" and the second trip was 27.5". Biggest pike the first trip was 40" and second trip was 40.5". Another plus is that when you arrive, Kevin sits down with you and goes over the hotspots on the lake and how to target the fish. Kevin's Son is also starting to help around the camp and was excellent at filling the boats up with gas and checking the props for line and making sure the motors were ready to go everyday. He would be up early in the morning so that when we were ready to roll it was hop in and head off to fish. Once back at the dock from a day of fishing you're always greeted by Hayden and the camp dog Bear. Then right at dusk you can fish off the dock with a jig and minnow, walleyes galore from the dock. If you're looking for a secluded camp with some of the best pike and walleye fishing in Northwest Ontario then this is the place! And no, Kevin did not pay me to make this review, but after seeing Tom H's absurd review I felt the need to voice my experience. read more

We are returning in August for our fifth stay at Angler's. We did a lot of research before our first trip, and this camp had the perfect balance between price, amenities, and fishing quality. Yes, it's a rustic camp, and the older cabins reflect that (the new cabin accommodating large groups is beautiful). We had hot showers every day- last year after the fire we just had to let them know ahead of time so they could run the pump. Here's what's important to us: The boats- nicely outfitted with radio and fish finders, maintained daily. Every time we went out or came back in, the staff was at the dock to see if we needed anything. The fishing- world class for pike and walleye. I caught a 46" northern our first year, still chasing that +30" walleye but every trip someone else in camp has caught one. The food- ample, varied, accommodating of special requests. My husband does not eat fish (!); they make him something else on fish fry days. The staff- everyone is attentive and helpful. Hayden has really stepped up to take care of the boats and other equipment. Kevin is always willing to mark up the maps to put you on good fish. Debra checks in multiple times during the week to make sure we have what we need. Belinda cooks something special for dessert every day and makes sure we never go hungry! Can't wait to return this year! read more

I have been going back to Anglers Kingdom for 13 years lately it's been 2 times a year, spring and fall. This is what's it's advertised as, a fishing camp! If you want a 4/5 star resort find somewhere else to go to. You get 3 meals a day that are camp oriented or you can fix your own meals. If you want fruit cups or spec. sugar tops bring your own. We get eggs, toast, bacon or sausage and pancakes every morning. BUT if you want a bed, a boat and fish this is where you want to come to. Many many 20"+ walleyes- one group while I was there in June caught a 32" walleye! Also a 40"+ northern. Just remember it's a "fishing camp not a fishing resort". It's a miracle that Kevin Geary was able to even keep the camp open after last years fire. Got 8 boats into camp in 10 days. Helicoptered into the lake. Most lodges would have closed. Kevin kept things going to accommodate his people that come up to FISH not to be pampered. I'll be up again in 10 weeks to continue to chase that elusive 30" plus walleye and 44"+ northern ( I already got the 43") Hope to see you up there soon. Been fishing for 40+ years on Canada. This is by far the best lake and I wouldn't fish out of any other camp Jack Beavers read more

THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME! I have searched for a great fishing camp for years. I live in an area of Michigan that has plenty of walleye. But there is nothing like a Canadian adventure into the unknown for some big pike and stringers full of Walleye! At many of the camps we went to, I would catch a 26 in walleye and the owner would say to me what a monster! Those camps cannot produce fish like Anglers Kingdom. So here is my testament... every time we have gone to Anglers kingdom, which was the 5th time in 2019, everyone has caught at or near a 30 in walleye and well over a 40 inch pike! The biggest was just shy of 48 in !!! We are a group of 10 people and Kevin was more than willing to help put us on the fish. The last trip was a little rough, due to wildfires in the area, but with just a little bit of searching, and following the advice of Kevin, we were on the fish and caught more in one week than we catch in an entire summer here in one of Michigan's premiere Walleye areas. We spend nearly 22 hours on the road to get to Anglers Kingdom and it is worth the drive every time we go. The lodge, the landscape and the people are incredible. read more

I've been coming here for many years, actually since opening. The trip up the river is amazing, the lake is beautiful and the camp is nostalgic. Fishing is crazy good, stupid really, walleye and pike are abundant in this lake. As for the camp, the owners are Genuine, the entire family works here and pitches in. I Love the family environment although would be great to see Kevin a bit more. Their son Hayden is a great guide (so you all better tip him well!). Running water, hot water, showers and flush toilets in all cabins! Whaaaaaaat! This is located 50 miles from civilization. I've heard about the recent disaster the family has had to endure (camp fire and forest fire) and can't believe they kept it open! That is commitment folks! I understand that the camp is still in good shape but the ride up the river may not be a nice as it was (damn forest forest fires) but that will come back fast. I look forward to returning and bringing a younger crowd so they can appreciate this joy for years to come. Luv this place. read more

I have seen a negative review here for Anglers Kingdom and I have to wonder what their problem was? In all my years fishing and it has been many, from Alaska down to Illinois, I have never found a better place to fish! Kevin, and his staff have always treated us as family. His cabins are clean and neat, with indoor toilets I might add. (Very important to this camper!) his equipment is a mix between old and new but always in good repair. The food is good and plentiful. And the walleye and northern fishing is unbelievable! I have never found better! I know he had problems with forest fires the last few years which can wipe out your camp and business and can only think this was part of the bad reviews problem. My only regret was due to failing health I wasn't able to get there recently. If you want to try some unbelievable fishing that you'll be bragging about for years to come, check this place out. You won't be disappointed! read more

Our group of 10 arrived at Anglers Kingdom fishing camp a few weeks (2018) after their tragic fire. We did experience some challenges with camp equipment, as one would expect after such a devastating loss of boats, buildings and various pieces of equipment. The limited amount of staffing tried their best to respond to the needs of the camp and guests. We did witness the condition of the camp and visited with some of the frustrated guest. Our group observed daily Kevin and his small staffs do there very best to attempt to meet our needs and others. Don't let a couple of negative reviews posted on this site keep you from visiting Angler's Kingdom in the future. Our group caught the most fish and largest fish we have ever caught in our many past trips to the fishing camp. Our group returned back this year (2019) and did very well and plans on doing so in the future. Jack OD read more

Went last summer with my business partner and our boyfriends (Age ranges 35 to 50) We had an amazing time escaping work and taking in the beautiful camp in Northern Ontario. The location is remote and is the only camp on the lake with a sandy beach shoreline! Some key factors of this trip being so great for us (and we have traveled a lot): Gorgeous location Beautiful, comfortable and modern cabins (very clean) Delicious homemade meals (whenever we needed them, making it very flexible) Unbelievable modern boats, motors, radios and sonar units (boys loved these) Outstanding fishing....and tanning for me ;) Debra , Kevin and Hayden are friendly and helpful hosts and hopefully we can go back again this year! Thanks and sorry for the late posting (January is catch up month) read more

I have been going to this camp for several years. Kevin and his family always make us feel at home, even after not seeing us for an entire year, every June they remember our names. As far as the fishing goes, it's by far the best Walleye fishery I have fished. Sure the camp has had set backs over the years, like every other fish camp. This year it was easy to notice how hard they have been working to get things back the way they should after they lost part of the camp. They have a wide selection of boats and just added new boat motors that are top of the line. If you want a great place to make lasting memories, give Anglers Kingdom a try. read more

I have been to Anglers Kingdom twice now and would go back again. This is not a 5 star resort or lodge. Its a fishing camp. I feel bad for the Gearys after reading some of the reviews. I think some peoples expectations for a wilderness camp are not reasonable. The rooms are clean, the boats work well and Belinda makes sure everyone gets lots to eat. I drove for 20hrs each way for the fishing and caught more fish than I have ever caught before. We actually quit fishing one day around 3pm as we caught over 100 walleye between the 2 of us and just wanted to go in and have a beer. LOL!! read more

Angler's Kingdom is an awesome fishing experience. It is clean, comfortable and has outstanding equipment that Kevin and Hayden ensure is running efficiently. Boat radios and motors are checked daily and are upgraded to meet the angler's fishing needs. Fish are plentiful and shore lunches really hit the spot. My Dad, Gary H., absolutely loved his time fishing at Anglers Kingdom! He visited many times and the last 2-3 years he spent the entire summer there. It was the high point of his year and the people there were like his family. I didn't fish with him so I can't comment on how well it's run but my Dad loved it so much he returned year after year and increased the length of his stay. He enjoyed the food and the people and would tell me how well the staff took care of him. They were always looking out for him. It was his favorite fishing place. read more

Please stay clear of this place, Kevin Geary is insane he has no employees they all left because the place is a mess. Limited amount of water rarely warm, broken dangerous docks, limited safety equiptment, every boat had some sort of problem every day. The walks are a bunch of broken pallets. The cabins keep the weather out, but don't let his pictures fool you, bring a bucket to flush the toilet. This place should be shut down. read more
