The Good: :: service was friendly. once the woman…read morediscovered i was Vietnamese, she was quite chatty with me and asked me questions about my travels and background :: place was quite clean :: nice interior (check out the ceiling) :: location: it's quite close to the train station :: lots of offerings on the menu :: spring rolls were quite tasty :: pho broth was clear and not oily The Bad: :: pho was served a little bit differently than i'm used to. the meat was minced with a lot of small chopped pieces of ginger in it. i'm always a fan of new things/interpretations on things but this was a bit unusual. additionally they also didn't have the normal fixins that come with pho. eg, they provided lemon wedges instead of lime wedges and they were missing some key herbs. the broth, while quality, was a little bit bland for me. however they didn't have the hoisin sauce nor sriracha/hot sauce to add to the pho. they tried to offer me up some chili oil that is normally used for dipping but i declined. :: service could be a bit slow The Ugly: :: none Would I go back? When I was checking out, the shop owner noticed my purchase and asked if i was making pho. He mentioned there was a pho restaurant around the corner. I have been coming to Orleans since 1997 and we finally have a pho restaurant that is close by and delicious! The owner is very kind and attentive. I ordered the banh cuon (steam rice rolls) and pho dac biet (special beef pho). It was delicious and this satisfied my Vietnamese comfort food craving!
