There was a lot of scraping as the home had not been painted in quite a few years. I handled repairs for any bad boards/trim so that was not part of our quote. They first power washed the home to clean it and remove loose paint. The guys worked hard and showed up on schedule. The weather this year has been miserable (hot, humid) but they worked long hours to complete the job on time - arrived early and stayed late. There were usually 2-3 people on site at any given time. The job was completed on time and as promised - we lost a few days due to bad weather but they were back on site as soon as everything dried out. We had some clean up to do after they left but that was not unexpected given the amount of scraping needed to prep the surface. I would certainly hire them again for future projects.

I called Josh and talked to him about my house that is huge and old; as I told him, I needed to repair the windows before the paint job could be completed. Josh said that he knew a carpenter who could do the windows and would paint the house after the repairs were done. As it turned out, I needed to get 27 windows fixed. So I had a bargain, a good carpenter who was ready to go up three stories to get my windows on the top floor and a painter who was going to paint my three-decker. Eventually, J&J came after all the repairs were completed and painted my house in 10 days. They were extremely efficient, professional, and pleasant to deal with. They answered my concerns by scraping, sanding, and caulking all surfaces. They used primer and good paint. Some of my neighbors came over to Josh to ask him whether he could paint their houses too. There was no drama, no mess. They told me in advance to inform other residents not to use the common area for a day or two. From the very first phone call, the owner Thomas was condescending, dismissive, and openly rude. He's the type of person who acts like he's doing you a massive favor by showing up, then gets angry when you expect basic professionalism in return. There are dozens of painting companies in the area that will treat you with respect, communicate clearly, and actually fix what they messed up. This is not one of them. Save yourself the headache and the money. Go anywhere else. Thomas - if you're reading this: maybe try being less hostile to the people who are paying you thousands of dollars. It's not a good business strategy.
