We prefer to e-file for faster refunds. This year they messed up my 15 yr old's taxes and had him as head of household, so it flagged in the system when they did ours as we claim him. The only way to fix it is to paper file, which means it could take three months to get our refund. We understand mistakes happen, but our tax prep cost $230 and it happened so close to the filing deadline that we had to pay extra postage to get it there by the 15th. They didn't even offer to refund some of what we paid to help compensate for the inconvenience. Actually, that check was cashed very fast after the mistake was made. They addressed the envelopes. Didn't even offer a stamp. This is the line of work where attention to detail matters, so if that's what you're looking for, I wouldn't recommend. read more
