Andy's is one of my all-time favorite spots for dessert--their custard is always creamy, rich, and absolutely perfect! Normally it's an easy 5 stars. On this visit though, I got tripped up by the fall signage advertising "Caramel Apples." I assumed it meant diced apples with caramel... instead, they literally handed me a whole caramel-coated apple on a stick! Not at all what I expected, and sadly it was one of the worst caramel apples I've ever had. Thankfully, I went inside and ordered my usual Concrete--delicious as always! We stopped to try this place out after driving by it a few times. My son ordered the BootDaddy Concrete and I had the Triple Chocolate Concrete. The custard was good but very rich! This is my go to place (besides Braums) for some ice cream. Custard are generally more creamier and more milky than your traditional ice cream. Andy's is very creamy and it's very customizable. You can basically put whatever you want if they don't have a concrete combination that you want my general is usually strawberry and cheesecake. What I really like about Andy's is that if you don't finish at all and you can take the rest home. It freezes very well. The creaminess is intact and the toppings don't crumble after a freeze in your freezer. Overall, this is a solid place that I will be visiting quite often, especially when the weather is hot. read more

Both were watery, tasted a little off, and had grainy malt material. We threw away the partially consumed malts and went to Braums. Those malts were rich and more flavorful. And cheaper. We went through the drive thru and this was our first time to Andy's. I got a peach concrete which was one of their summer specials it looked like. The service was really awesome the nice man working the drive thru window so my service dog was with me and got her a mini puppy cone of which she loved. My concrete on the other hand wasn't really the best. It wasn't by any means gross or anything but it didn't taste complete. It was missing something I felt like. Oh my GOODNESS! My first experience was not the best but my second knocked my socks off! This is seriously the BEST CUSTARD EVER! They have such amazing flavor creations. My absolute favorite is the Jitter Bug, which is not on their menu but it is espresso with heath and almonds. AMAZING! sometimes it is a little heavy on the espresso (which is a little bitter obs) so I ask for it to be light. They also have a BlackBerry custard with chocolate right now. So so so so good! The prices for the individual cups are kind of high but you're getting what you pay for. I discovered that I love to get a pint or a quart and take it home and eat smaller portions at a time and it's a much better value! Their small size is quite large fyi. I cannot imagine getting their biggest size. The employees are always super friendly and very prompt in making the orders. I highly recommend! read more

I decided to take my boys here since we have driven by this place about 1 million times but never stopped in. It was probably 100° out so I thought it was a perfect day for frozen custard to try something new! We walked in and there was one couple ahead of us they got served right away my boys and I were standing at the counter for at least a good five minutes before we were acknowledged and taking our order. I almost walked out and went through the drive-thru, that is where they were giving the most attention to. The girl took our order not at the front counter but yelling at us behind in the kitchen then we had to stand there and wait until we got it knowledged again to pay I could've easily walked out and they wouldn't of even known. Pretty bad customer service here i though but the food is a different story... Our custard was amazing. My son got a single scoop of chocolate custard the chocolate is very strong and rich but delicious! The single scoop wasn't big at all Braums gives you about double the size in my opinion. I got a root beer float it was delicious and the vanilla custard was pretty solid, I am typically not a vanilla fan definitely more of a chocolate but this was so good I would easily eat vanilla! read more

I never had "frozen custard" in my life, so I didn't have a point of reference. From a West Coast perspective, here are my findings: 1. It's extremely rich, and honestly, richer than I a used to. 2. It's overtly creamy, even in a frozen state. 3. It's nothing like "soft serve." 3a. Nothing like Fosters' Freeze. 3b. Nothing like McDonald's soft serve, McFlurries, or their Sunday's. 3c. Nothing like Chick-f-lay soft serve. 3d. Nothing like frozen yogurt The one off-putting thing is the aftertaste... I have to guess that's the "custard" flavor... Outside of that, it was an interesting experience. I had the strawberry & Oreo Concrete, from a Yelp food photo... The two flavors helped cover that aftertaste... It's not my style to write a review for one bad experience. That said, when I've tried to love a place and it just keeps letting me down, I think it's fair to share what's consistently not going well. I want our community to be filled with all kinds of great businesses which offer the best of themselves to our community. When that's not the case, I believe we can strive for better. The plain vanilla custard here is very good. But who over the age of 3 consistently orders plain custard? I enjoy chocolate malts, mint Oreo concretes, and turtle sundaes to name a few. I can't remember the last time I left here satisfied with my order and I've really REALLY tried...I keep coming back. Why? I LOVE frozen custard and there's always the hope this time will be different. The challenge for this location is in the details. I've left with a chocolate shake when I ordered a malt. I've left with all the mint of my mint Oreo very concentrated at the top with none of the mint reaching the lower portion of the concrete. I've left with the mint mixed in all throughout but it being so overpowering I couldn't eat it. I've left asking for light fudge on my turtle and getting extra fudge. I can also share that I've left during COVID-19 because we could see a fairly large group of staff members inside hustling and bustling as we were pulling into the drive thru and there wasn't a mask to be seen. Unfortunately, we didn't feel it would be safe to interact with the staff that visit so we left, no custard for us. There's hope: all of this is fixable. It would stand to reason these are all training issues. So I'm holding onto that and hoping that one day we'll start to see consistent improvement. I want to come here and shout from the rooftops to all of you that this Andy's location offers some of the best frozen custard around town. But for now that's just not the case. This was our first time stopping at this location. They have someone outside taking your order on a tablet and it was freezing rain outside so it was a little pressure to hurry up and decide what we were having LOL they have different items on their website menu than they have on their storefront menu. I ordered the jitterbug which had espresso in it. I couldn't taste the espresso until I got to the bottom 2 inches of the concrete so I guess it just didn't get mixed up very well. The small size is plenty big. We will return and try a different flavor. read more

I had heard about Andy's from my friend who's from Arkansas and had to see what the hype was all about. I was happy that it opened close to my house so I had to try it out. I went there for the first time this past Saturday. The location was super busy and even the drive-thru was very long, but it was just one of those nights where I didn't want to leave my car. The building is large and so is the parking lot. It is located in a suburb area, so only downside to this location is that the roads are blocked up (I only went on the weekend so I don't know how it is during the week. I'm assuming it's the same crazy traffic). There are no tables to sit on the inside, only a few benches and chairs along the side (I guess it's meant to be just to get and go?) Concretes: I ordered the Choc-O-Rocko Concrete which comes in a clear plastic cup (the small is a good size, I couldn't even finish it in one sitting), made with Andy's chocolate frozen custard blended with roasted almonds and marshmallow creme. You can add toppings for 75 cents each: I added Reese's pieces to my custard. You can order the same special concrete with vanilla instead of chocolate if you prefer vanilla. My friend ordered the Snowmonster Concrete, made with Andy's vanilla frozen custard blended with fresh strawberries and melted chocolate chip. Both concretes were delicious! The frozen custard is so rich and creamy that just a small size was enough to last us two desserts each. I thought Andy's was so good, that I came back the next day with other friends who wanted to check it out. Concretes: I ordered the James Brownie Funky Jackhammer, made with Andy's vanilla frozen custard blended with creamy peanut butter & brownies, filled with hot fudge (so far this concrete mix is my favorite!) I didn't add any toppings, it was great just as is. Kids' Sundaes: My friends ordered two kids' size vanilla custard cups for their kids. Made with Andy's vanilla custard with sprinkles and a cherry on top. I would say if you're craving something sweet, but not extra sweet, get this to try it out instead of a Concrete, or just the regular size sundae of this. Delicious!! This was our first visit to Andy's and whenever I was in line we were looking for a menu. The lady who was taking orders outside to make the line move faster didn't give us a menu after we asked. She responded with "what do you want?" I felt very rushed whenever we tried to place our order. She didn't give us any suggestions and when I asked her if the Ozark turtle sundae was popular, she looked at me and scoffed and said "Well, I don't like pecans." Whenever we made it to the front window my husband asked the cash register lady if he could add some peanut butter to his also which she did but then proceeded to say "Next time let us know first and rolled her eyes at us." This will be our last time going to this location. The custard was great but the customer service definitely needs work. This was 3 hours before closing and all we did was feel like we were a burden to the workers, very disappointing experience. read more

Every time I go to Andy's I know that I am in for a true treat. I walk in the doors and peruse the menu of amazing sounding specialty Frozen Custards. They even call them Concretes in order for the customer to completely understand that this stuff is so solid you may as well give your belly the extra room and unbutton your pants now because you will be taking down multiple cups today! I typically get lost in imagining myself eating each of their menu items before finally settling on the craziest of concoctions...Vanilla Custard with Cookie Dough. I am offering up bits of my soul to anyone who tries this admittedly insane sounding mixture and doesn't love it more than a Turkey loves the day after Thanksgiving. I can finally say with unwavering confidence that Frozen Custard unrelentingly dominates that kooky thing called "Ice Cream". Custard has over 10,000 qualities that could be used as examples of this fact, but I will choose only 3 for times sake. 1. Frozen Custard is actually 38% healthier than its Ice cream counter part. This fact has been proven in the landmark 2018 Case Study by the Geniuses at Connor University. They studied one person (Me) and had them go to an Ice Cream Parlor for a couple scoops one day, then on a completely different day had them get Frozen Custard. The results were as you may have already guessed, the subject felt as if they didn't gain as much weight from the Custard. The subject also refused to step on a scale because you should totally just believe them. (1) Citation for this study still pending. 2. The smoothness of Frozen Custard can be described as that of a baby made of glass's bottom. This differs rather harshly from Ice cream which is more in line with Kevin James trying to dance in the cinematic classic "Hitch". Andy's Custard can't be beat for flavor. We used to live in Springfield, MO where there is an Andy's on every corner, so I've had my fair share of concretes! This location is so inconsistent that I quit going for a while. Since my favorite is Key Lime, I tried them again. Two have been perfect, then today I get the soupy custard that seems to be what I had been getting about every other time. Soupy when it's handed to you, not when you have had it for a bit. Sometimes you you get enough of your toppings mixed in. Sometimes you get five blueberries. Yes, I counted since it was a blueberry concrete and I wasn't finding blueberries in at least every few spoonfuls. Sometimes the toppings are mixed all the way through, sometimes they are barely mixed in the top. These are too pricey to end up throwing it away. My Key Lime tonight is soupy and the pie is pulverized so it's like custard soup mixed with graham cracker crumbs. Not worth the $7 at all. Maybe this sounds too picky, but when you've had delicious treats consistently for ten years, then have these, it's hard not to judge! read more
