thank you Andertons! I was searching for a specific music rest and pedal suited to the model of my electronic keyboard. I was unable to find them in the US, when my search turned up UK-based Andertons. I phoned the store to clarify some questions about the gear and with the thorough help of Brad, was able to find the exact models I needed. I was planning to have the items shipped to a friend who lives in the UK and then have her ship them to me in CA. however, this was going to cost more, and thanks to Brad's insight, I was able to locate the items more locally. in spite of the fact that I went with the more local route, I still wanted to post this review because: a) the shop appears to be well-stocked with diverse products, b) their customer service was stellar and their knowledge, on point. I would most definitely shop here if I lived closer and hope to visit one day. I recommend Andertons to anyone who's into music and lives in the area to check them out (or shop their online catalogue). read more

I ordered a left-hand Taylor GS Mini Guitar from this establishment and it was sent promptly and received in good condition without damage. However the guitar I received is not even close to being new. It has been out of the box for a very long time (as evidenced by how dry it is and the lack of any semblance of residual odor from the glues and coatings). The gig bag is creased, rumpled, and also has picked up some bad odors and is also completely devoid of any indication that this is a new or even recently opened item. I own three other Taylor guitars actually purchased new from other on-line merchants. They ordered the item from Taylor, received it, checked it, and the forwarded it to me. Not so in this case. It's fairly clear that they boxed up a a display/demo from their shop and sold it to me at full market price as a "new" item when it clearly isn't Given that they operate their shop with the door open (evidenced by their own pictures on their website) with a large number of acoustic guitars in immediate proximity to the door, it betrays a cavalier attitude toward taking care of what they sell. The evident dry state of the guitar I was sent is further proof of that. Needless to say it won't be returned. I've read the reviews form others on G+ and else where regarding how they handle customer service issues (or actively avoid handling them). I consider myself fooled again, duped again, and I won't order from them in the future. I've received similar service from Sam Ash, Guitar Center, and others who have store front locations. It seems they use the online supply chain to dump old product and shop worn things hoping they won't be returned. We'll I won't bother. I'll just re-sell it with an honest description. What will I find out out if I contact Taylor with the serial number? That it was produced in 2013, 2012, 2014 perhaps? Stay tuned. I am going to find out. read more

Disgusting service. Staff heavily implied I would not be able to make a purchase unless I opened an account and give out basic personal details: email, address and phone. Obviously in this day and age I feel this is superfluous and very unnecessary. However, the staff assured me that they would not contact me if I didn't want them to - I stated "no contact please". A couple of days later, I got some customer satisfaction survey - obviously I didn't want this and left bad feedback about their service. A couple of days after that I got a rude email from their "customer service manager" requesting I delete my feedback, I refused, but it seems they figured out how to delete themselves. I also requested the "customer service manager" ensure my details were entirely removed in line with GDPR regs (guess where this has gone). I guess upon them deleting my feedback, this triggered another request for feedback - and myself finding they are unwilling or incapable of deleting. To be honest, disgusting service and with this level of incompetence or an urge to irk someone who has given a bad review. I doubt very much if my payment details are safe in the hands of these "people". read more

I have ordered from Anderton's previously, and it was great. Well, apparently it's only great if everything goes right. I am an international customer, but have found some things are actually cheaper to buy from Anderton's and have shipped to the US. So, having had fast service from them previously, I ordered an audio interface. I ordered on a Sunday, as I had done before, and figured it might ship Monday, as that was my previous experience. I looked Monday, and was surprised to see that they had added a line that they would be testing it. It was supposed to be new in box. However, decided to wait. When Wednesday rolled around, it still hadn't shipped, so I sent a request to see what the holdup was, and why they were testing it. I was told they test all international electronics ordered, and it would be going out "shortly". I responded on Thursday that I'd like to cancel if it wouldn't ship by Friday, as I had allowed time for carrier delays but not extra time for them to get it out. I was told it had been tested and would go out that very afternoon. It did not go out that afternoon, so Thursday night I replied and asked to cancel the order. Friday morning I got another answer that "we're experiencing delays, it will be dispatched imminently". It took 2 more emails from me asking to cancel. They did cancel, and issued a refund quickly. Of course, the exchange rate has apparently changed since I ordered, so I'm out $15 - the rate change is not their fault, but would have been avoided if they had shipped in a timely manner. Won't be using them again. read more

I've been using Andertons for most of my musical needs for years. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Whatever you're after, there's a member of staff who can help, whether it's recommending gear or talking you through the specs of hardware or software. If you can get past the irksome PoS system and the lack of parking, then this is a store you should check out. To give some specific examples of the quality of their service, I was on the lookout for the one guitar that would be my workhorse. Being a rock fan, I went into the store expecting to come away with a Strat, a Les Paul or possibly a Washburn N4. I tried them all and discussed with the assistant what I liked and disliked about each. He suggested I try a PRS based on my feedback, and (after a hour in one of their practice rooms) I bought one then and there! I had a very similar experience with mics more recently, ending up with a brand I didn't really know but which suits me perfectly and which I now use for every practice and gig. If you want quality gear sold by quality staff who know their stuff, Andertons is the place to go. read more

I traded in an amp against a PRS SE 277 semi-hollow and Marshall DSL15C for amazing value. I made the trip from Bristol, got stuck in some traffic and was a minute late after closing on a Sunday but they were still really helpful, showed me around the shop and didn't even seem a bit annoyed that it was my fault they couldn't go home on time. I use the online store quite a lot as well and have always been super impressed with the service and quality. The first thing I bought from Andertons was a Vox AC15C1. When it turned up the fabric across the front of the amp had been torn during delivery. They picked up the old one and delivered a new one the next day at my convenience and I was really surprised at how helpful they were and how simple the whole thing was after my initial disappointment. Great guys. read more

Incredible music store! I've never actually gone in person, but my husband Josh and I watch their YouTube channel on nearly a daily basis and DREAM of visiting. It may be a while, since we live in California, but it's in the plans... From their videos, the store looks clean, attractively layed out, and well-stocked with a range of excellent gear! (We spend quite a bit of time in music stores, so we should know!) Their videos are fantastic, too. The Captain and Chappers--as well as Ribir and Matt--are friendly, relaxed, fun, and incredibly knowledgeable. Not to mention very talented guitarists! I highly recommend looking it up. And visiting, as I hope to do sometime soon! read more

Probably THE BEST music store I've seen in my life time. The employees were great and had answered any questions I had and were very nice. Also, if you play the guitar, I highly recommend you to watch their YT channel, it really got me into playing the guitar and understanding it. read more

This is an American hating company who rely on American made products to profit. I will never support this company or it's shady business owned amps and guitars. read more
