I was very quiet and apprehensive during our first session because of how afraid I was to open up and be vulnerable, but that quickly changed when I realized how safe and comfortable I felt within our first two sessions. Marla follows a Cognitive Behavioral therapy approach and is very well-versed in the works of Dr. David Burns and Dr. Brene Brown. She is welcoming, empathetic, very engaged in therapy sessions and is excited to see you grow. I have learned so much about managing my emotions, tackling past traumas and being the most authentic version of myself. I feel that my therapy with Marla has encouraged me to jump outside of my comfort zone, where I have found opportunities I never would have thought existed. He caught an abnormal lab result after she was discharged from the hospital and called me right away to have her readmitted. This was before she even had her first appointment and very likely saved her life by catching it early. One of my favorite things is how he talks to the babies while doing his assessment. It's such a sweet touch and shows how much he truly cares. One of my friends recommended choosing him as a pediatrician while I was pregnant and I've already recommended him to friends as well!
