Still 0 stars. We were promised either a credit or a free cleaning session when we moved in back in August. We moved in to absolute filth and still crickets to this day. Our floor is coming up (not the first time) and suddenly our oven stopped working. We submitted a request and even called and left a message. No call back nothing, but yet they post a message the same day hours later about the influx of trash cans being left out... our drawers still need to be fixed and the paint from our front door still need to be fixed but we haven't heard a single thing in months. We really regret moving in, it seems the only way to get in contact with them is through a review since that's what happened the last time.

Couldn't ask for a better team. Tabitha, Christopher and Peter have helped to create a resort styled living space. Their attention to detail and helpful accommodations have made the consideration of "temporary" housing a possible "permanent" choice. They have approved some of the coolest neighbors. They always make sure we have everything in brand-new working condition. The team is always coming up with community activities and special promotions with neighboring businesses. The property location is convenient for transportation and food choices. Although residents have a lot of garage space provided for their cars, guests might find available parking spaces a bit of a challenge.

we absolutely LOVE living here and Caitlin and Peter at the front desk are personable and highly cater to all individual needs. they are always there for us and take care of people (especially when it comes to snacks in the office LOL) so grateful to live here as this is hands down the best place we've ever lived and we've lived all over the country!!! :) thanks again Caitlin and Peter!! y'all the real MVPs!!!

Neglected repairs during the course of my family's stay. Frequently falsified reports saying maintenance repaired items that are not even attempted. Closed work orders, put orders on hold, and frequently stalled months at a time with simple requests like paperwork. Maintenance tried to coerce a positive review since the first experience was terrible when we asked about our repair request status or concerns they "resolved". Many an issue they never fixed was marked completed and we spoke up and they did nothing. After over 12 months here I do not recommend any person with mold allergies or asthma or concerns for safety rent here. We made accommodations even putting our animals in a crate during times they could make repairs and giving notice of the schedule, changed medical appointments when they said they would come , completed the move in sheet( make copies for your records I suggest), returned it and it's not anywhere in their online system. They had us in a place knowing the oven wasn't working and heat and still didn't have any urgency or apologies even after their negligence caused many injuries to my family and Medical bills. The automated system response from yelp is nothing more than show. Management never took our concerns as a priority and still for months we suffered. More than 35 initial service requests. The amount of issues is unacceptable for "luxury". Rodents, mold, water damage( especially in the closet where the roof is dripping damaging designer clothing), cheaper Non Greystar aka Greystar luxury slumlord managed places would not be as bold not to make repairs and smile at people knowing what their actions have caused.

The other residents are respectful and friendly from my encounters. There's a lot of kids that live here that like to run around on scooters and e-bikes on the weekends-they can be a little noisy but it doesn't bother me. The property manager, Gigi, has been so helpful and kind with any questions I've asked. Lots of open parking and no sketchy weirdos loitering around. I have never seen the dumpsters overflowing- the trash is collected multiple times a week. I do find a spider in the unit every so often but it's definitely not a pest problem. Never had a package stolen so far! I'm really enjoying this place!

During the 10 months I lived here, I had my gas siphoned, a SWAT team break down a neighbor's door during a hostage situation, and another neighboring unit where a drug-addicted couple had frequent violent altercations. The situation became so bad that I had to call the police over a dozen times during my short time living there. The most frustrating part is that management has received complaints about these issues for years. They will tell you they care and that they are addressing the situation, but nothing actually changes. The responses often feel dismissive and unhelpful. What ultimately pushed me to write this review, however, was how my move-out was handled. Although I moved out before my lease ended, I made every effort to leave the apartment in excellent condition. I had the unit professionally cleaned, including the carpets, and had all holes patched and painted. After the pre-move-out inspection, I even provided management with the invoices for these services. Despite this, I was still charged nearly $500 in additional cleaning and painting fees. I was also charged an incorrect $450 rent balance, even though management had previously confirmed that I had paid the remaining rent and utilities owed. Even after explaining this and providing documentation, they still refused to return my full security deposit. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. For the price you pay to live here, there are far better and better-managed options in the area. I strongly encourage prospective renters to carefully consider other properties before signing a lease here.

Make this a hard requirement at the start of the tour to the sales person. New issues for my particular unit include rodents in the walls and ceiling crawl space and bats found nearby infected with rabies. In regards to the "parking lot" project, I've reported numerous code violations, to the City of San Marcos (I also work in Licensing / Permitting). Parking lot violations include Disabled / ADA individual accessibility violations. City officials seem to think telling citizens to report Disabled / ADA violations to the state (passing the buck) is a valid argument if City of San Marcos employees originally passed the subpar work in violation and fails to take appropriate action to correct. City of San Marcos officials are claiming no code complaints have been reported to the city. I informed the City officials that seems highly unlikely based on the numerous issues reported in Yelp reviews for this property. So, current and past Prominence community members, now is your opportunity for complaints to be heard. The City of San Marcos has opened code compliance case into the property. Refer to the screenshot for the email address for the City official looking into the violations, CE2026-0329, especially related to the "parking lot" project, if you were displaced, had to miss work, denied access to your parking spot, or had your vehicle towed.

The amenities, cleanliness, and organization of this complex are all top-notch, but the main factor for Block C's success has been its leasing office team. Jessica gave us our first tour of the place in March, and actually REMEMBERED us nine months later when we were finally ready to apply and move in! She is a gem. She is so knowledgable and patient, made us feel very recognized and welcomed, and facilitated a smooth move-in transition. Not many leasing companies seem to get this right - but Block C does: attention to detail and genuine care make ALL the difference to a resident! And we definitely felt that with Jessica. More recently, many of our interactions have been with Sara, who has been nothing short of an angel. She is professional, she is knowledgable, and always willing to help. After we were approved, she helped us on move-in day and made sure we got everything we needed. But her care did NOT stop after that first day - she answered questions and coordinated repairs for weeks after that! She is so quick and responsive each and every time we correspond with her via email. She has helped us with storing our packages when we are out of town, accepted and coordinated larger deliveries for us, and paid rapt attention each time we had a maintenance issue. Each time there has been a maintenance request, she's made sure not only that it simply gets done, but also that it gets done to our satisfaction, and she doesn't just promise that it will and forget - she actually follows up and sees to it herself. You have no idea how much peace of mind that lends a resident, and I am thankful for it every day! Both Sara and Jessica go above and beyond by not only getting things done, but being SO cheerful and prompt with everything they do, and I marvel at their patience and energy! We strongly believe that the best decision Block C's administration ever made was hiring Jessica and Sara. It takes great people to run a great office, and they have been amazing and deserve all the praise (and all the bonuses!) in the world. I know John has been a big part of this as well - he takes care and genuine interest in the operations of the entire community (which I bet is no easy job!) and is very attentive to our needs and our maintenance requests as well. The whole staff has an amazing attitude of service, pride in ownership + stewardship, and attention to detail, and I can tell he leads by example. And it is not just the staff's kindness that makes this place so great - it is genuinely a good place to live. The organization of the complex as a whole that makes me proud to live here. FOBs instead of keys? Genius. A remote door unlocking system for main entrances? Seamless (Why has the housing industry not applied this broadly yet??). A parcel pending package delivery system? What a life-saver. A mixed parking system? Best solution to the parking problem I've ever seen. Everything about Block C makes SENSE and is beautifully executed for the resident's ease and comfort. It truly is the future of the leasing experience. And on top of that, the security team and the maintenance team are effective and responsive. What more could you ask for? As a young millennial, I've lived in my share of apartment complexes in and around southern California. At Block C, one of the main differences is that the whole staff makes us feel not like a burden (which is how I'm used to being treated by rental offices) but instead like appreciated members of their home and family! The complex itself is well-kept and well organized, and I couldn't be prouder to live here. Thank you! -Mr. and Mrs. Javier + Amanda Gonzalez

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! We took over a lease and lived here for…read more9 months. The communication for taking over the lease was very slow. When we did move in, the charges we had on top of rent were way too much. We had to pay an extra $125 every month for a second parking spot. The utilities were a joke! We were told there was solar.. our "solar" bill was around $150 a month! For a 574 square foot apartment (when we both work full time outside of the home). Every single utility is charged for. Gas, solar, water, pest control, trash, sewer, service fee. And then the parking garage... we were grateful we never got into an accident! The way the PIMA students and other residents drive through this structure was ridiculous. They went way too fast around corners and did not look. My fiance saw someone hit a parked car and told the leasing office, not sure they did anything about it. When our lease was close to ending, they never reached out to us about signing a new lease (which we were not going to do), once the month out time hit, I emailed them and they told us we had to give 30 days notice, even though the lease was ending. This caused us having to pay for a few extra days. When I scheduled the move out inspection, the guy arrived the last 4 minutes of a two hour window, and then told me they would be lenient because we had taken over a lease. That was not the case (lack of communication between management and maintenance?). After moving out, they sent us the move out inspection and charged us $200 for drywall repair, but another document they also sent said $50/hr for 2 hours, which should have only been $100. Luckily I caught it and got the full refund. But quite scammy! I could go on and on... the loud roads and freeway in the middle of the night, the construction that did not stay within their hours, but I hope you can understand how bad this place was. Yes there were a few nice things (nice gym, new appliances, walkable location), but these things do NOT outway the bad.

I would strongly recommend looking into other newly built complexes instead of this one. While living here, my partner experienced multiple break-ins to his car. When we reported this to management, nothing was done--no follow-up emails, no communication, and no visible safety measures put in place to protect residents. We used the gym regularly, and the facility itself was nice. However, there were multiple occasions where we saw unhoused individuals using the showers. This raises serious concerns about building security--how are non-residents accessing a gated community? Maintenance was also handled poorly. Sections of the complex were frequently closed with only two days' notice, whether for parking lot repaving or hallway painting. This lack of advance notice made it difficult to plan, especially for residents with pets or work schedules. On top of this, my partner's car was towed, costing us $500, despite the parking permit being clearly visible on the floor of the vehicle. When we raised this with management, again, nothing was done. We were even told at the tow yard that this has happened to other residents before. If this is a recurring issue, it's unclear why management hasn't taken steps to prevent it. Overall, the price did not match the experience, and the lack of responsiveness and security made living here incredibly frustrating.

My lease is almost up and they want to raise my rent $300, making it over $1700 for a one bedroom! I like the complex. I have pleasant neighbors and my section of the complex is usually pretty quiet. The grounds are well maintained The apartment is lovely and I feel spoiled with my washer and dryer, but with the new updates we lost our amazing AC unit for an "energy saving" unit. Its not actually an AC at all, its a heat pump and it does absolutely nothing to cool this hot apartment. When I asked if I could have an older AC unit put back in I was told that it wasn't possible. This summer was pretty much unbearable with my indoor temperature being in the high 80s all night. (They should probably take "Air conditioner" off the amenities list....) Finally, I am writing this review in hopes that the new leasing office gets this message: How hard is it to give more than 24 hrs notice before entering our apartments? For a scheduled inspection we should be given at least a couple days notice just out of courtesy. This is a pet friendly apartment and I have a dog. I would really like to be here when random termite inspectors come and freak my dog out. We've been getting 24 hours notices 2-3 times a month which is not enough time to make arrangements to be present when strangers are trooping through my apartment. The old leasing staff would tell us the reason for entry and they would post notices at least a few days before which was MUCH appreciated. Hopefully the new staff can smooth out these issues but for me the price isn't worth it anymore.
