Avoid coming to El Braserio. Rude customer service along with bugs in food. Manager Juan Rodriguez…read morewas blaming me and the outdoor that I found bug/fly in the food. In his words he said that it came outside and not in the kitchen. Literally look at the pic and you can see the bug was melted with the cheese. He also didn't sincerely apologize and was just staring at us which made us uncomfortable. Recomiendo evitar El Braserio.

This review is about La Mariskeña at Plaza Mayor---…read more La Mariskeña operates on an entirely different level. First, the location. After doing some shopping at the mall, the restaurant is just one minute away--convenient, accessible, and perfect for a spontaneous meal. Even without a reservation, we were seated immediately. The view from inside the restaurant is impressive and adds so much to the experience. Second, the staff. The service is exceptional. The team is attentive, fast, kind, and truly knowledgeable about their menu. Wanting to try something new, I ordered a shrimp cocktail I had never tasted before, La Fiera. After giving it two or three tries, I realized it wasn't for me. I asked our waiter if I could change my order, and he kindly checked with the manager. They happily agreed. Moments later, the manager, Paco--a very likable and friendly man--introduced himself, cleared our table, and even prepared our carajillos. Emiliano, our waiter, was outstanding from start to finish. Third, the food. It is simply out of this world. If it fits within the word "seafood," they probably have it here. We ordered the seafood soup, a traditional shrimp cocktail, and both octopus and fried shrimp. Every dish was superb. A quick warning: their salsas are extremely hot--delicious, but proceed with caution! I highly recommend La Mariskeña and fully intend to visit again in the future.
