It is challenging to find an apartment complex where there is a combination of superior service, high quality, as well as nice amenities. Andalucia Villas is one such place.
Mind you, my review is based on the fact that I have a brand new apartment, but even this can be fraught with problems with punch out, move in times, and issues of logistics. Andalucia Villas' staff nailed this.
Everybody has to find the cost they are willing to pay, and if you look in other cities across this nation, the cost is reasonable for what you get, albeit not on the lower end of the spectrum. However, as we were more interested in getting a home rental, and struggling with this, we felt that this initially was a good compromise while we look for the home we really want on the west side.
Now, we are wondering if we will stay beyond our 18 month lease (a special too good to pass up).
From the standpoint of your cable TV services, DirecTV works here but you will have to have your dish on a stand on your balcony, you cannot mount it on the building. Comcast/Xfinity is the more likely choice, although you will find they don't have all the channels you may prefer. This said, the internet is speedy and reliable and there is CAT 5e wiring and plug ins throughout the apartment if you inclined to wire certain electronics directly.
We have dogs, and this is one of those places that charges monthly for them along with a deposit. They have stations throughout the property where you can get the appropriate plastic bag to get the leavings, although some residents apparently don't feel the need to do this. I don't blame the apartment complex management for this, and given that it is new, perhaps this will change over time. There are green spaces in the complex as well as the Bosque where you can walk your dogs, along with a dog-park style enclosure at the north end of the property. Although it can be challenging to see your dog's leavings on the bark, in the wet and rain, this is not uncomfortable to some finicky dogs and doesn't lead to your animal being filthy when coming back inside.
Parking is interesting as we have a garage that is two car with a space outside our garage, but it is slot-like where two cars fit back to back and you have to really cram them in to barely fit two smaller cars (Hyundai Elantra GT and Subaru Outback). We have only had one instance so far where someone chose to park in front of our garage and block us in, I sense this is an aberration.
Yes, you can customize the apartment, such as with hanging of televisions, closet organization, and such, although you cannot install a reverse osmosis under the sink and there is no water softener. You have to repair the walls you change when you do these things, but this is really standard if you think about it.
Unfortunately, you cannot take the washer and dryer off of the property that comes installed in the apartment. We decided since we had storage close by anyway, to store our LG washer and dryer, and use their HE washer and dryer, and we are actaully pleased with everything but the noise of the machines. Appliances are all GE and of average quality, but stainless steel and look nice (W/D is white).
The flooring is a mixture of laminate/composite flooring that has a faux distressed wood appearance and carpet. This is about a 40:60 ratio, and acceptable for those preferring no carpet.
Traffiic close by is actually not bad, and there are three places to turn into and out of from here, and so far, we are finding that this has not been a problem whatsoever.
Grocery store, gym, restaurants, and other services are above average for the west side, although we find we do use Montaño to cruise toward the east side frequently, and this is in fact quite an easy drive.
All in all, you see that this is a four star review, but in fact, when the customer service is that superior for an apartment, to me this pushes the review to the top, as this is the main deal breaker for any apartment complex. read more
