Although I am glad to see this business up and running again, I am disappointed with how much they've downsized. The new store is rather small, and it now focuses mostly on vitamins and other health supplements. There is a small section of organic food and gluten-free products, and there's a small seating area, where you can sit and have a lunch or an antioxidant smoothie (healthy!). The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help. I bought some vitamins, and the lady gave me a student discount, which was great. I will continue to shop here, because I am loyal to this place, and their prices are still very reasonable, especially the vitamins. I do hope they expand again one day soon--I really miss their humus!

I stopped by Organic Roots today to see if they had any coconut oil, which they did. The staff were…read morevery nice in helping me find it, and it took me awhile to pick one out since they had several kinds. I chatted to one woman who worked there about the products, and she told me about the many uses for coconut oil -- as skin moisturizer, for instance -- which I found really interesting. I finally settled on one, and as she rung up the sale she told me about the brand I was buying, and how they actually let monkeys pick the coconuts to be used. I thought that was pretty funny. So the service here is always great, but the only thing I have a problem with is their pricing system. It's really hard to see which labels on the shelf belong to which items, and I often get confused, buy one product, and realize it was a different price. So they might want to organize their shelves better. But it won't stop me from coming here, because I like giving them my business.

The Natural Health Centre in Kingsway mall has a good selection of the above mentioned things. From diet suppliments to gout remedies they have it all. They also have a good selection of organic food and snacks and beauty products like dye and moisturizers. They have some good sales, and when you walk in, there's a shelf to your right with a bunch of marked-down vitamins and supplements. You can also find natural hair dye, organic teas, nut-butter spreads, and most other popular natural items. Last time I was here, I decided to try the "steamed distilled water." They have about five different sizes of bottles and containers that you fill up yourself with the water. I got an individual-sized bottle and paid $1.09 for this. If I come back to fill it up though, it's only 39 cents. The water tasted very clean and pure. I also had my camera in my hand, when I was here. I put it down on a shelf to fill up my bottle, and I even reminded myself not to forget it, but I did forget it! I didn't notice until I got home, so I called, and luckily the girls found it and had kept it behind the counter. I was so happy and relieved--what great girls!

Basically they want to take the fuss out of eating well. Here's what it says on some of their marketing materials: Who we are: - Your grocery shopper - we pick the freshest (never frozen!) and healthiest ingredients for our meals. - Your meal planner - each dish is perfectly proportioned to give you the right amount of nutrients. - Your nutrition coach - we'll guide you through every step of the way! - Your personal chef - our Executive Chef gives you high quality, delicious, and nutritious meals. They also offer a 21 day challenge which is like having a personal chef for 21 days. (Price ranges between $649 - $699) Fresh Fit Foods offers a pretty extensive menu, covering everything from Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and snacks in between. I had the privilege of trying a few of the health items offered after a Yelp Fit event yesterday. - Thai Peanut Chicken Salad: includes pieces of seasoned chicken, romaine, edamame, red pepper, carrot & onion in a Thai peanut dressing. In my opinion, this salad lacked depth of flavor, perhaps from not enough dressing provided to dress the entire salad as well as the chicken which could use more punch. The peanut dressing was mild so much so that I barely tasted the peanuts. The ingredients were fresh though which I appreciated and I know the portions were right on. I should also mention that I found the pieces of raw onion to be overpowering and harsh, so I just picked them out. - Chicken Salad Wrap: filled with a light mayo-based chicken salad combined with dried cranberries and a hint of tarragon. This wrap wasn't bad - I could see myself coming back for this one. It came with a side of apple slices which makes for a nice balanced healthy meal. - Oat Bake: a mini-loaf made with fruit, almond and oats. Looks appealing although I have yet to try as I was going to eat it later when I got home from work. They offer a huge variety of items, I'd be interested in returning to try more. Note that you can also easily pre-order all items for pick up at any World Health location by going online to their website: FFF.CA
