Seats are very reasonably priced at £7.50 or £9.00 for luxury. If you opt for luxury there are both 2 seater sofas and bigger cinema seat options, so you might want to check what you are getting. I love the little tables and that there's a bar where you can stock up on wine before the feature presentation. Sound quality seemed v good to me and although we sat right at the back, I wasn't bothered by the distance from the screen. Also, the toilets were super delightful, my friend was genuinely keen for me to go visit them to check the nice environment out! They have a good selection of releases, I would prefer to see slightly more indie in the mix but frankly whatever keeps this place upon as it's a total gem.

The Savoy Cinema has been recently refurbished, by a small company who have restored a couple of…read moreother little cinemas like The Ritz cinema in Belper, and has reopened recently on Heaton Moor Road. The foyer area of the cinema is very nice, with a little counter at the front where you can buy tickets and drinks and snacks. The Savoy will let you pre-book your cinema tickets, much like any of the large multiplex chains, but with a slight twist. You can reserve your tickets at any point, but you don't actually collect and pay for them until the movie showing. This can result in a bit of a queue, so if it's a popular movie you should arrive in plenty of time. The range of drinks and snacks is pretty good; they have everything from soda to beer and wine, as well as the usual popcorn and Ben & Jerry's ice cream tubs. The prices are also very reasonable. When I visited there were three of us there to watch the new Star Wars movie (no spoilers, I promise!), and in all the three Standard seats with a pint and a soda was £27. The seats themselves, for "Standard" seating, were pretty damn comfortable! Usually in a multiplex it's a bit hit-and-miss whether I get a comfy seat with enough leg room to accommodate me as I'm not exactly short. The Savoy seats were great, and I had plenty of space to stretch out without hitting the seat in front which was great. The drinks holders are also stylish and large enough to handle any drink you throw at them. There's only one screen at the moment, though I think they're adding a second smaller one at some point (though I could be wrong). That said, the screen is plenty big enough and the projection was spot on. If you're going to be a regular visitor to The Savoy, they have a membership scheme which is £20 per person per year but this gets you two free tickets to see any movie* in any seating class so you can use them for the premium seats. Membership also gets you ongoing discount on regular ticket prices as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to The Savoy and I can see myself making regular visits in the future. Would definitely recommend!! (* some exceptions may apply!)

It is pretty easy to get to, even though it isn't central to anything really with a tram stop "East Didsbury" across the way and a Tesco close by. Unlike most similar centres, I was surprised there weren't many big-name quick-fast food restaurants including the likes of Subway, McDonald's and KFC which would have been handy, but the construction of this place isn't that great anyway as it is quite a good walk from the car park to the complex where the cinema and eateries are. Parrs Wood is summed up by "Meh, I've experienced better", it isn't new anymore as it was built as I recall in around 2011/2012 and is now so generic, lacking innovation and anything which makes this stand out from the crowd. 2*

Booked in December 2 tickets for Moulin Rouge in September 2025…read more Was feeling very ill, dizzy, losing consciousness so went to doctors and was rushed to hospital London. A mass has been found on the left side of my brain and is spreading. I have had treatment, but at this point I have been told its a life limiting condition. I contacted to cancel my tickets, because well, and I can use that money now to help with home costs. They replied to me that I needed to get them proof that I was 'not going to be here'. They then said that they can swap my tickets for another performance so I don't get to miss it. I am in Derby. They want me to go to London to get a sick note from my surgeon, or to download a form from ATG and then send it to my busy surgeon, get him to fill it out and send it back to me to prove it. As a last ditch attempt, the Palace Theatre Box Office was approached, and they turned around and said that if I am unwilling to follow the process with ATG, there is nothing they can do. Or alternatively I could sell my tickets on Twickets, because I am obviously well enough for that! I.am absolutely flabbergasted. Sickened. Disgusting service. This is the first review, but my family are going to leave a review on every review site, all media sites. They have the transcripts of the conversation. The low down dirty sick thing about it all though is that I paid for refund protection. Which means absolutely NOTHING. HORRIBLE INSENSITIVE PEOPLE. Never been so sickened!

The building is stunning and steeped in history, that itself is profoundly beautiful but reflecting on the actual experience of seeing a show here, it can be hit or miss. Pros: Many, many amazing shows passing through The building itself The history The stage Location Cloak room Concession prices on tickets Merchandise stall for those that want a souvenir Cons: Can be very noisy during a show (can hear the dryers from the toilets, mobile phone interference affecting the speakers, ushers don't really tell noisy customers off) Limited leg room Certain areas have very restricted views e.g. mid/back of the stalls Expensive drinks and snacks Tickets can be overpriced I'm an avid theatre goer and have seen so many classics here, I will not stop going but I think things needs to be tightened up. Going to the theatre is a real treat, anything that brings the experience down needs addressing.
