My second experience was when I was looking for Herradura Coleccion de las Casa, Scotch Cask, for a friend's birthday, which I was unable to find anywhere (really, anywhere - even the Internet). When I had asked even my favorite neighborhood liquor store where I live in NYC, they told me to order it, I'd need to buy a case. My friend is great and all, but he's not getting $1200 worth of good tequila. #sorrynotsorry In any case, I tried Cellar XV knowing from past experience that they have unique items, but unfortunately they did not have it. I have my name and number just in case, but had pretty much given up hope. The very next day I received a call from Doug and he said he had it in hand! I was shocked and thrilled (nothing better than finding the perfect gift) and just went to pick it up this weekend and he had it ready and waiting for me. The Mac and cheese was incredible when I got home and baked it, and the truffle cheese recommendation from the employees was great. They sell cheese, crackers, wine, and other specialty products. Everyone was nice and helpful, and I'm looking forward to going back to this store!

Done business there for many many year through 2 previous owners. This is more about attitude. Walked in and snagged my arm on one of many wire racks they have sticking out in the aisle about 10 inches for some reason. The racks - I suppose- are to "highlight" certain brands but they are wrist or waist high, black and sharp. Asked the guy at the counter he said mmmmphhh.... supposed to be like that. I showed him the puncture and mentioned it was dangerous, Again nothing, no "Sorry!" or Thanks for telling us, or any sort of acknowledgment. Had I ripped clothes I would have demanded they replace them (these racks are out all over the Store in various aisles...weird) Anyway, I try and shop small and shop local but not even a sorry? C'mon... very disappointed when there are countless other places to shop.
