I've always wanted a MINI, just for the simple fact that I think they're absolutely ADORABLE! I decided to make an appointment to test drive the 2025 Countryman. It's gorgeous in person & it's completely remodeled from the previous years. Updated touch screen, panoramic moon roof, heads up display, wireless charging, heated front seats, parking assist, heated steering, & remote start all included in the base model! I test drove the melting silver III metallic with Vescin Vintage Brown interior (favored style) & the iconic package. With the new remodeling, the car is much bigger now and comparable to the BMW X1. More overhead space & back seat can comfortable fit passengers. My favorite part about this car during the test drive was the GO KART MODE! It's basically their sport mode & man did it feel nice! Also, if you're a current/former BMW owner, ask about loyalty credits! Up to $1000 loyalty credit can be used towards a MINI or BMW. If car is totaled, I believe as long as it has been less than a year, you can still get loyalty credit. Although I did not end up getting the Countryman, our salesman was very nice & not pushy at all, which I was very appreciative of!

Around March 2026 (~15 months later), the passenger-side wiper stopped working. After inspection at another Volvo dealership, the issue was identified as a wiper arm that had not been properly secured during installation, which led to its eventual failure. What's most concerning is how this was handled. In the initial communication, the dealership acknowledged that improper installation could lead to this type of issue. However, the position later shifted to a complete denial, relying on the claim that such failures would always occur immediately. They stated that "it does not take over a year... it happens in days to a few weeks," while also referencing vague possibilities such as "many other factors," without identifying any specific alternative cause. This explanation is not technically convincing. A partially secured connection can slip over time, gradually wearing down the splines before ultimately failing. That possibility was dismissed without meaningful evaluation of the service history or the nature of the failure. There were also inconsistencies in communication (initially referencing a 2-year timeframe, later corrected to 1 year), and ultimately no willingness to offer any support, with the dealership stating they would not assist with the repair. This reflects poorly on both quality control and accountability. A component like a wiper arm does not typically fail in isolation without prior disturbance, and the fact that only one side failed further raises concerns about installation consistency. I chose to have the issue resolved elsewhere. During the buying process the staff at Coastal Nissan were extremely accommodating and upfront about everything throughout the entire process. Johnny Walker answered all my questions and was extremely responsive, even though our communications were entirely through email/text. Mike DuBry took all the pictures and measurements I asked for and was very pleasant the whole time, delivering the vehicle after the purchase was finalized. Dave Spellman was a pleasure to talk to during the financing process and didn't try to push any unwanted add-ons or extra packages that I knew I didn't want. The buying experience was professional and pleasant. After driving the vehicle for a few days, I noticed the interior panel in the driver door was loose. A few of the plastic clips were worn and would pop out after shutting the door a few times. I reached back out to Coastal and they told me I would need to drive it back down to them to have fixed. Living two hours away, this did not make sense. I asked if we could arrange to have a local Nissan dealership take care of it, but they declined. I can't say I was surprised, but I was disappointed given how pleasant the experience was up to this point. I would recommend the guys at Coastal Nissan for anyone local looking to buy a used vehicle. The buying process was a good experience, but the after-sale support was disappointing for someone who doesn't live close by.
