I found it odd that there were a lot of employees there (at least 5 women) but they were very busy putting mark down stickers on the tags and no one greeted us nor offered us any help which was disappointing.

I needed to visit a Barnes & Noble store to pick up a tote bag as part of my Premium membership. I decided to take a break from driving and visit this bookstore in Fargo. This B&N is huge! It may be the largest one that I have ever been to. This store is in a plaza, with a Walgreens across from it. I found a parking spot in a rather busy plaza. I backed into it and walked in. There was a lot of merchandise that was cool and different. Boogie Board has Sketch Pals for kids, which looked both durable and fun to doodle on. I tend to find cool gifts at B&N. My best friend likes The Office. I found the perfect The Office-themed gift for her here. I like desk calendars. I didn't get one here, but it was tempting. Peanuts. Cats. Dad jokes. There is something for everyone. I didn't do a whole lot of shopping for me items until my last day in the States. I did get a couple of nice items here. One was a penguin hot/cold pack. I love penguins. I love practical items. This one was perfect. You put this pack in the freezer for cold, which works nicely. I have yet to try the hot option, which is to boil it. I like glass water bottles. I travel with a glass one that has a straw, but I don't have one that is leakproof. I found a nice one at this store that has a frosted look to it and is sturdy. There's a huge cafe at the back of this store. I'd like to sit there, sip on a drink and enjoy a pastry while reading a book. I didn't have that luxury. Maybe I'll do that when I am heading down to the Twin Cities next time. I got to the checkout and had a friendly woman help with my purchases. It was weird dealing with her, as I had given my phone number associated with my membership and having her repeat my phone number seemed to be difficult. I then said that I was here to pick up my tote bag. It was almost as if she didn't hear me. She said that I could get a tote bag. Um, that's what I said. I already own the black one. I went with green because it was Minnesota Wild green. She asked if I needed a plastic bag. I said that it was okay if she put all my items in the tote bag. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I thanked her and left with my goods. My tote bag was large enough to house my purse and I used it has my personal item when I flew back to Winnipeg. This tote is perfect for travel. It has one pocket that I use for my passport and NEXUS card. The other side pocket stores my cell phone. The main part of the tote held my purse, Grogu Squishmallow, a bag of peanuts with shells, and a lot more. I love it. This store is awesome. I'd love to drop by and spend more time here next time. The customer was on a phone call and was not being disruptive whatsoever, but the woman snapped at her "You can take your phone call outside and come back when you're done." Excuse me? I dont know any store owner who would speak to a customer this way when they weren't being disruptive and had barely walked inside. The owner was incredibly rude, condescending, belittling and acted with a "better than you" attitude. Its a BOOKSTORE, not her own personal sacred library collection. There are plenty of other bookstores out there where the owner isnt an a******. I'll never go back.

I have always loved shopping here. The customer service is incredible. Any other store in this mall…read moredoes not have the devotion for the customer like BBW. You are always greeted at the front of the store and made sure you know what your looking for. They have great suggestions and are always fun to chat with. I have to go find an employee...which are typically standing there chatting with another employee. also the lines for check out are disappointing. when I have been there they have one open only...then by the time I leave another opens. customers can see the annoyed looks on others faces when standing in line. the wait time is unprofessional..I am not talking about 2 to 3 minutes...I am talking about at one point I waited approximately up to 10....this is not acceptable especially when there are employees standing around chatting it up. I prefer to shop online because of this but at times like to smell new scents and I never look forward to going into the store here because of all this.

I do not buy anything I can not try on and been it has been while but if I remember correctly can only return for store credit or some such that might have beens worse. Does not say on their website. Prices have gotten high for a thrift store, $15 for a used book, $20 for a framed poster. They now have self check out now to go with the over priced items in their store. It is a "For Profit" company, which is fine for them, but how do you have a store that is 95% clothing that no one can try on?

I'm sure I'll continue to buy more as there is so much to choose from and it's conveniently located one block from my work.

I like that Cul De Sac has an emphasis on recycling offering reusable bags for checkout and focusing on well made clothing to combat fast fashion. I will be back next month and hope to find an item. One of the books I was looking for was not stocked and so he went to look if he had any else where. He brought back a different version of a book that I was looking for in case I didn't want the one on the shelf and informed me that they didn't have the other I was looking for. I was very pleased with the service and definitely recommend stopping in.
