My father recently took his Rolex watch into this store for repair. The store owner told my father…read morethere would only be a fee of $50 for shipping and the watch was to be sent to Rolex for said repairs to be completed. A few weeks later my father received his watch back and was charged $1600 for the work. The next week the watch had moisture in it. At this point I became suspicious, as I knew Rolex would never have sent a watch back unrepaired and would have checked the seal . I called Rolex to be sure the watch had been sent to their service center in Texas. Per Rolex, my fathers watch was never sent to their service center. We were very upset and questioned the store owner to no avail. When my brother came to town to visit he went to speak to the store owner in person. The store owner provided my brother a copy of the receipt where the watch was sent off to be repaired. As we suspected, the watch had been sent by the jewelry store to a third party watch repair company, not Rolex. Repairs were made with preowned Rolex parts per the receipt. Per the receipt, watch repair cost was about $1,100. But, my father was billed over $1,600. The store owner apparently made over $600 for nothing and took a cut off the work. So, the store owner was not truthful regarding making any profit. My father had been a repeat customer at this store. We wasted $1600 and these repairs will have to be completed again by Rolex.
