Amy is an awesome acupuncturist! If you have any type of chronic pain, and have never tried acupuncture (or if you have tried it, but are looking for a new provider), you should give her a call. In addition to helping patients with common forms of pain, she also has many patients that come to get help in alleviating the side effects of chemotherapy, anxiety, drug withdrawal symptoms, and other ailments, so no matter what you might be going through, it is worth a call to Amy to find out if she thinks acupuncture can help you.
Amy's office is located in the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center suite. Even though the Cancer Center officially closes at 4:30 or 5:00 on weeknights, Amy does have some evening hours. You just need to enter the Cancer Suite waiting room and hit the #1 buzzer on the wall next to the receptionist's window (receptionist is not there in the evening).
I have had acupuncture in the past and found it very helpful. But my old acupuncturist closed his private practice and relocated to a different hospital and does not have good hours. I googled acupuncture in Middletown and I'm so happy I found Amy. I was in the midst of a terrible episode of lower back and sciatic nerve pain. No doctors have been able to solve my pain issues. I have had tests, physical therapy, chiropractic sessions, nothing helped. I definitely prefer acupuncture over more invasive treatments or use of pain medications. A few sessions with Amy and I'm almost 100% back to my normal self.
Amy is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about her patients. Every week, she is interested in the progress that I'm making and tweaks the treatment toward the pain I'm feeling that day, while still trying to address the overall issues. While I generally go for my back pain, yesterday I was in the second day of a migraine and Amy made it disappear immediately. Usually my migraines last 3 days and there is nothing that can be done to stop them. She's a miracle worker!
After she puts in all of the needles, she gives you some time alone in the treatment room to relax. You lay on a comfortable massage table, she plays nice relaxing music, turns down the lights and will give you a blanket if you want it.
Amy's fees are very reasonable, and she accepts insurance (if your plan covers acupuncture). She always tells me I can call, text or email her at any time if I have any issues between treatments. I cannot say enough good things about her, if you are in any type of pain, give her a call! read more
