Handy Dandy Amscot!!!!!…read more I have to admit the first time visiting Tampa I was like " what the hell is an Amscot"? So a while back when I was visiting I needed to cash a check and my cousin was like " Amscot is open 24hrs and you could cash it there for like 2 bucks so we could hit the club." Of course thats what I did. Fast forward to today I come here now and they greet me with a friendly smile and a handfull of Tootsie rolls (which I hate but there free). You cant beat the service its pretty great. Even when there busy and there is like one worker they will multitask and help both. You can pay any and everything here let me break it down....... *light bill *phone bill *cable bill *water *get money orders *western union shall I say more. Also, on my adventures of job hunting I was informed by a worker there opening there very first in MIAMI! They are pretty excited about that and maybe so should my fellow Miamians!!! What could possibly be stranger than a full-fledged 24/7 financial institution staffed by college students hidden behind 6 inches of superthick bulletproof plexiglass hidden ominously next to a car wash on a busy urban avenue? Give up? Having to actually need one at 2:45am on a Sunday morning. I swear I'll never make fun of one of these places again, or at least not until next paycheck. ;)

I saw no reason for…read moremyself to ever need an Amscot and didn't quite grasp the concept of why they were so many of them around. Besides the usual services that we know they offered they also offer notary service which I was unaware of until I used it. Unfortunately the person that did it forgot to stamp it and I had to go back twice to get the document completed. They seem so busy all the time and people are doing all kinds of different things besides just cashing checks. Just recently I needed to have something faxed in the other than go to a Staples or something else and Scott was convenient so I went in and paid the high price to have one piece of paper faxed to where it needed to go. It was a bit expensive but convenient, convenience, convenience. Now I can understand more about why lots of people use Amscot not only to pay bills, cash checks, send money orders but another wide variety of services that I was not aware of. What's a girl to do? the convenience of Amscot is definitely a selling point too get something done quickly and be on your way.
