I called around and got 4 different estimates - 3 estimates were over the phone, but Rainbow was the only company to come out in person and inspect what needed to be done. Fred was punctual, kind, knowledgeable. His price estimate was in line with the others I received, but most importantly, because he came out in person to inspect the hardwood planks themselves, he was able to warn me there was a risk that redoing the floors may lead to ruining what was already there. In the end, that risk combined with the cost for a colour change wasn't worth it for me - but if I had gone with anyone else, I might have had to tear out all of my floors and redo the whole thing. We moved the fridge and stove and it's only been primed where the appliance hide it. (More Details Below) We hired Dan to refinish our entire kitchen. We paid him 4000$ dollars and the quality of the work is terrible. Uneven coats on just about every surface he painted, some only got one well others got more than 4. He missed a number of areas, and ended up getting paint on all of our appliances as well. We have spent over 3 hours removing paint spots from the counters, the floor, the backsplash, and other areas he wasn't even painting. He went 2 weeks over the quoted 7 to 10 day. We left some feedback on a Facebook post, which almost immediately got deleted. And he went and blocked all communication with the parties who hired him and left the feedback. Needless to say, we do not recommend this company. Services are not as advertised, the quality of the work is terrible, and the man behind it all is quite a sketchy character.

Marcus melo of kaza finishing was hired by my kitchen cabinet company Paolo of G&P Antiques(905…read more640-5778) to paint our kitchen cabinet doors made of MDF and the existing cabinet frame. Marcus offered that he could do the job in the week of December 6, 2024 but to do so demanded an initial deposit of $1500. When December arrived, he did not respond to emails, phone calls or texts. He was completely incommunicado as noted in other reviews. After indicating that he was going to come and then an excuse repeated multiple times. In the end there has been only about one day of on-site work. The taping job consisted of a 3" band of frog tape which was inadequate to prevent paint getting on the floors! Primer was never used on new MDF leaving the surface rough and getting paint on the wood floors. Then when asked to just return the doors, his response is to hold the doors hostage until his balance is paid!! The complaints and reviews on BBB, Trusted Pros and Google about kaza refinishing are spot on. They're as commonality that resonates with this review. Any company will have poor reviews but they should not be of this type. A company that continues to accumulate this type of review should be suspect in how they do business. KAZA finishing refused to return the doors until they were paid for 85% of the work as per Marcus' request. Upon pickup he increased this to 90%! No primer was used on the kitchen frame or the new MDF doors! Primer on the kitchen frames and doors could not be sanded because it was paint and came off like a peel. The new cabinet doors were painted as shown in the picture with no primer and no sanding and looked rough and unfinished. The painting company we hired to fix kaza's finished product(Andrew's painting and decorating) were alarmed to see the final product from kaza. Photos included. Kaza and Marcus is a company that will ask you for a deposit to book a specific time and will not honour it. They will not answer your surgeons to contact them. They will not refund your deposit as noted in other reviews. Finally their work is incredibly substandard. Marcos claimed to be licensed by "finishing school association" which believe it not doesn't exist! We paid over $4500 for work that will now be done by true professionals and relieved and happy to not deal with him anymore. KAZA had the audacity to ask me to sign a letter that I would not leave a bad review!! My suggestion if you think about hiring this company for anything is to do your due diligence. Phone Andrews painting(416 716-3591) and G&P antiques to get their view. Read their reviews on BBB and Trusted Pros and the low star reviews on Google. Then ask why would a company have these type of reviews. Finally I will predict that Kaza is going to respond to this by a lengthy reply full of excuses and complaints. Remember he was paid in full and begged me to not write a bad review. Stay away from this company.
