What happens when a fast food burger joint collides into a greasy Italian pizza joint? You get amo! Amo is another Geneva Train Station Take Away place located in the new renovated area next to greens. After a website search, I learned that amo is owned by Autogrill Suisse SA, which oversees many railway station food brands, which includes greens. I typically wouldn't eat at amo, but I was curious to try something new, and didn't want first impressions to stop me. First, this take away stand has an identity crisis, it mostly is Italian, but longs to be more burger oriented. This is found in the fries, onion rings, and fried shrimp choices. The pizza is made fresh throughout the day, you can find them busy pounding out the crust and shoving the pizza's into the ovens. The shiny sheen of oil on the pizza slices quickly turned me to considering other options. I was curious to try out the smaller warmed sandwich offerings such as Panzerotto Pollo and the Pizzaiolo poulet. This is what I decided on. Each sandwich was overpowered by to much dry doughy bread, and it was hard to taste the limited fillings in the sandwich. However, the limited chicken (poulet) in the sandwich was juicy white breast meat. They offer a fidelity card, 10 sandwiches and get the 11th free. I won't be coming back here anytime soon, but instead will be returning to their sister brand, greens next door. read more
