I will always give someone a chance to redeem themselves. Amity had 6 hours and another 3 the following day. I chose them because of the high star rating. They got me in the same day which was great and then it went downhill from there. They bleached my hair when it wasnt needed...messed up the first color so they wanted to fix it...messed up the second time. I stated it was ok and just planned to go home and box dye it. After thinking I paid too much money for box dye..the owner did call me the next morning and requested me to come back in since I was unhappy with my hair. Also stated that her hairdresser told her that my roots needed touched up and owner stated she "didnt understand why she let me leave without telling me". I went back in so they could fix their mess. We decided to go darker so my hair wouldn't break off. I requested a deep conditioning due to everything they have done to my hair. I was instructed there would be a nominal fee. (Which I didn't have to pay)Again my HAIR CAME OUT BAD and nothing how I wanted it. The owner stated to my friend that "she(as in me) should be grateful that we called her and stated we would fix it...we didnt have to" So I spent over $300 for hair that I never even wanted and that is morE damaged than it was before. My hairdresser was very professional but it is a business and the owner should have never let a tech do a color like mine on her own if she knew she was brand new. Emma did an amazing job on my hair! I'm a platinum blonde so I went for a bleach and tone and a haircut. My roots were grown out about 2+ inches so I was expecting a little banding. Emma was so meticulous in her planning and application, my hair was completely even root to tip! Thank you Morgan !! After struggling to get the right ashy tones due to botched bleaching at another salon, Morgan absolutely nailed it. Was looking for a place to get my hair done as I haven't done it in 2 and a half years. So I thought I would test the waters and go in for an eyebrow wax. Now normally I'm not one to rant but it's been a month and they're still so uneven I can't get them fixed and we have family pictures on Monday. I will say the owner tried to fix them as best as she could but the damage was already done. I've also included pictures of when I got them done and how they are now a month later. It takes a lot for me to leave a 5 star review anywhere but my experience at Amity for my balayage and cut was a 5 star experience! The salon is beautiful, clean, and had a nice ambiance. The receptionist was great, I got a hand massage, a scalp massage, I liked the private/quiet room they shampooed in, I was comfortable and content the whole time and Deven whom did my balayage did an amazing job! It's always scary going somewhere for the first time when you are new to the area and I'm not sure why this place has a general 2 star review because I was very pleased with their service and will be back! read more

My experience at Amity was exceptional. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by a bubbly receptionist who offers you a glass of wine and is absolutely delightful to talk with. My stylist, Stacey was so sweet and helped me to decide just what color and style that would be best suited for the thickness and coarseness of my hair. Drove an hour to sit down with tonya i initially wanted lots of blonde but told her I would sufice with just highlights so long as I can leave today with anything not orange or red. I have brown hair so I knew it'd take another session for an ashy blonde but man oh man was I not expecting to be so disrespected and talked to so insensitively and around other customers too! she showed me two hair swatches of what my hair color would be after today and it was the exact color of my lighter highlight already in my hair. I asked more question about what was going to happen what's going in my hair reasonable questions and she eventually said we weren't vibing and that at this point she didn't want to color my hair. So we talked about cutting. I have long hair to my behind which I grew out with pride from being skin bald for years which was An awful time in my life so cutting too much made me emotionally hurt. she suggested nearly half my length had to go because it was "to damaged" which overwhelmed to heck out of me i Suggested we just cut a little and she then said at THAT point she didn't want to do anything. No color no cut. Had one girl come in for her opinion and then suggested a 3rd woman's opinion who does a lot of blondes but she was busy so while waiting I tried to understand why my my hair would have virtually no change to it if she were to color it. There was a time where I asked if the 3rd girl was coming to take a look and she said actually I'd rather not bother as the owner I don't want anyone here doing anything for you. when the girl passed by you asked her if she'd even want to look and she being nice and patient and understand said yes and answered my questions. let me explain to you what I couldn't in the salon cos if I'd say one word about this in there I'd start crying.. my hair is damaged from years of fertility meds, stress of JUST moving here and what have you. You judged my damaged hair and said you and no one else will help all I asked was to not cut half my length off maybe a bit less would be fine Because I don't want to be brought back to short short hair like I had when I was going through something bad. Second, you We're wishing you knew what my last hair person put in my hair but when I ask what's going In my hair you say it doesn't matter Or ignore and give up? with other customers around hearing everything about "at this point I don't wana do anything and no one here will help you" I was so embarrassed. I had to go to my car call my husband crying. its Either her way or get out of her salon. the other girls were nice but I feel like if tonya had said nothing to them and just heard what I would have liked they would have not agreed with her much. Got recommended by the salon owners mother, to be a model for her daughter "Tanya" the salon owner. I said yes! So when I arrive I say I'm waiting for Tanya, so not too long after that Tanya's mother messages me and says "no Tanya will not being doing your hair, it's the new girl" find it strange that Tanya couldn't tell me that her self.. Anyways the new girl starts on my hair and time passes and Tanya comes by and tells the girl the way she would have done the foils in her opinion, moments later Stacy "part owner" comes by and tells the girl to texture my hair. (Not even bothering to ask me if that's what I want). Time goes by and she has curled my hair and shows me the back of my hair in pictures. The next day I wash my hair because there was pink left in from the toner. I notice that my hair was not cut properly and I had uneven lengths. So I proceeded to call the salon and spoke to Tanya, mind you the "owner" and told her, I wasn't happy with my cut and asked if she could LOOK at my hair. She told me to "hold on a moment and then told me she would call me right back" never got a call back from her but I did receive a message from her MOTHER. She wrote me saying "my daughter is a high dollar hair stylist at a high dollar hair salon, she is booked for years". I still have all of her messages. I've never met her mother only through Facebook, never understood why her mother would message me when frankly it's not her mother's problem nor salon. I called a couple hours later and spoke to the other owner and she told me that I was rude and to never come here again. I was NEVER rude to anyone. I had my hair done at their salon it's totally their responsibility. Terrible business manners and not professional what so ever! Unprofessional and confrontational. I had an appointment scheduled for 12pm and as I was finding a place to park the receptionist called and said my appointment was at 11:45. She said they can still see me, but would have to just do my color and not the cut. I opted to reschedule thinking I had made a mistake. After rescheduling I looked at my calendar and the text THEY sent me and it was 12pm. I went in to show them the text I received and the receptionist was rude and condescending. After showing them that they had made the mistake they didn't offer any type of explanation other than rescheduling me or cut my services. I told them to cancel my appointment and I wouldn't be back. After leaving a review on FB the owner messaged me back and proceeded to call me liar. Said I parked in the middle of the road and said I didn't park where I said I did. I have NEVER been talked to by a place that is providing a service that way AND by the owner no less. She claimed she has video, but there is no sound in security video, so she has no clue as to what was said and how it was said. I found a place to go to that knows how to treat a customer.
