I have never written a review before…read more I often think about reviewing Dr. Morris, but I worry about adding to the already high demand he's in--much like not wanting to share your favorite restaurant. Who wants to wait for a table?! But I'm trying to be a better person. I've sadly had the experience, many times, that psychiatrists aren't able to spend much time talking. I've come to understand that this has become normal because of the cost of care, insurance issues, and so on. As a mom of boys with ADHD, this has been very upsetting for me. I remember calling out one of my son's first psychiatrists for this exact reason. She didn't want to address the emotional side--just prescribe. I was informed by her that psychiatrists didn't have time to do psychotherapy. I wish I could say she was an anomaly, but she wasn't. And while I can empathize with how tricky it must be to navigate an overloaded, underpaid system, it still felt awful. This is why I'm amazed that I often feel like I get both talk therapy and medication support every time I see Dr. Morris. I've always been scared of medications, and he is so wonderful about remembering this, being understanding, and clearly explaining the science behind how a medication works, as well as any potential alternatives. His obvious understanding, fluency, and confidence are incredibly reassuring. And he doesn't do it in a dry, lecture-y way--he talks about it with the same passion he has when discussing Star Wars or Legos. Seriously, ask him about his LEGO collection. It's rare to feel truly listened to and to trust someone because they are so genuinely passionate about what they do. I honestly feel heard on any and all talk-therapy issues. You may wait 15 minutes for him--and that's because he will most likely go over with you too, making sure he fully listens. Actually, he's terrible. Don't see him. :P

He will not judge you and if you feel you are screwing up, he will be patient and warm. He is particularly intelligent and if he has personal anecdotes that are relevant to you, he's not afraid to discuss. Dr Morris is confident enough and humble enough to share his humanness. Go to his website and read that little blurb. if you like it then call his number and just listen to how calming his voice is. I've manipulated every psychiatrist I've ever seen [i'm not bragging...], but i knew from his website, his voice, and a brief conversation, i had to take him seriously, so in first session i told him all my sabotage antics and have been open like never before. He's the real deal. Mark Van Ness

I saw her several years ago. Like some of the other reviewers, I thought she was a kind, good…read moredoctor in the beginning, as that is the demeanor she initially presents. However, this woman does not know how to safely prescribe serious medications and she made things much worse for me. (Plus, what's been written here about no receptionist, her not getting back to you in a timely fashion, etc. is all true.) I went to her wanting to get off of Alprazolam, as gently and naturally as possible. It's the strongest of the benzodiazepines, which had only been prescribed for me by a DO off-label for back pain, not anything psychiatric...and before I knew what benzodiazepines were, let alone how bad they are! I was on 1.5 mg/day. She ultimately bumped me from that dose to 4 mg/day! This did not feel right to me. But I trusted her then. And I became a wreck! Anxiety through the roof and not feeling grounded enough to do things, especially driving. Her answer? She put me on Gabapentin, too! She took no responsibility for anything as I became more and more debilitated. In fact, she became angry and short with me, as another reviewer also shared. Also, once I began asking more questions as things were getting worse, her immense arrogance rose to the surface, as well. She's a wolf in sheep's clothing and, due to my experience, I don't believe she should be allowed to prescribe psychiatric medications at all. She's the kind of doctor that everyone is hearing about now, adding to the prescription drug problem in this country, who keeps throwing another med upon another med until the person is in a terrible mess, trying to safely get off of them. I ultimately found a great psychiatrist who knows the dangers of psych. meds. and works primarily with getting people off of them, not prescribing them (a rare bird). He got me off the Alprazolam with a slow, gentle taper (not trying to do it in two weeks or a month, as many MDs try to do, putting people in hell on Earth, and sometimes seizures, strokes and the like). He was absolutely horrified by how she had put me on so much of it, and so fast...and embarrassed for his profession. And since I sadly know that people who see a psychiatrist can still be stigmatized, I decided to write this review because 1) I wasn't given psych. meds for psych. reasons and 2) She is just awful and anyone considering working with her on meds should know of at least one person who found out that she's incompetent, to say the least. Stay away.

Dr. Chatlani, Dr. Parikh and Ryan are accomplished, mental-health professionals…read more Dr. Chatlani is a patient listener and carefully examines various angles of the issue/s and cuts through the bone with her guidance and careful advice. She is able to see several steps ahead. I could see that she was invested in my well-being. She is open. She is honest. She is humble. She is kind. And, she is a good doctor. Ryan is a terrific therapist who takes copious notes and can recall details from our conversation even weeks later. You know he is invested in the well-being of his patients. He has a difficult job but, makes it look so easy. He is the messenger of hope! He is not patronizing. He is honest. he is a really good therapist. Dr. Parikh - I am stunned at how amazingly good Dr. Parikh is. I can actually see her taking in every word, dissecting it and then going into the depths of the issues and making it relevant in ways that resonate deeply with me. Dr. Parikh cares! She is invested in her patients! She epitomizes the good one expects and prays for to experience in her profession. She is a highly accomplished health care professional. I highly recommend Savant Care. It took me over a decade to find the right place. And, this it. All three mental health care professionals deserve kudos on Yelp!

Arthur made the appt then on 2/3 (today) I received an email from Arthur that my appointment has been cancelled. I called in and was told that they have an appt tomorrow (No way for me to make it) or I can come in some time in March. To summarize, I waited 2 months for an appt, that was cancelled 3 days before. This company does NOT CARE about your mental health. I recommend contacting a doctor who does. This place is more like a factory than a medical practice. Yelp needs a 0 star option for Savant Care Clinic in Redondo Beach. Their response is HIPPA won't allow them to "divulge" anything. What a joke of an answer. There is no HIPPA. I set an INITIAL APPT 2 months in advance only to get an email l 3 days before telling me it's cancelled and to call the office When I did they told me they can see me in March. ANYONE seeking this type of medical help should go to a real practice. Not a factory like this place. Good rIddance mr operations manager.

I normally don't do Yelp reviews but I just finished my last day of virtual IOP today and was blown…read moreaway by the amount of dedication, care, and time the therapists, counselors, and group facilitators put into their clients. I've been in an IOP before and it was terrible experience, so I was reluctant to try again but I needed the help so I took a leap of faith and I am so glad I did. The cohort I was in was amazing, everyone was so loving, accepting, and talkative. We were known as the talkative group. Throughout my 3 months here, I think there was only one issue with the program that I had, and it was resolved immediately. Not once did I ever feel unwelcomed, silenced, or judged. I work in treatment as well and cannot wait to refer patients to you guys. Chris, Stephanie, Derrick, Heather, Erik, Sauncia, Sydney, Amber, Justin, and others I may be forgetting (sorry), you guys were amazing and I attribute a lot of my growth to you all. Thank you especially to my therapist Amber who continuously pushed and challenged me, you have no idea how much you've helped me in just 3 months. Saying goodbye was very hard, which is how you know something truly made an impact on you. I love this place and would highly recommend anybody who is struggling to give Clear a chance. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

I don't normally write Yelp reviews, but given how few existing reviews there are for this…read morelocation, and how profoundly impactful my experience there was on my life, I feel obligated to share so that others who are struggling like I was 4 months ago can hopefully make the best decision possible for their wellbeing. For those unfamiliar with PHP/IOP treatment, it's essentially a middle ground between regular weekly therapy and full hospitalization. If you're in a crisis and are not currently receiving any kind of psychiatric care, this place can help you; if you're already receiving care, but it doesn't feel like enough, or you feel like you need something more intense--without being admitted to a psychiatric hospital (the image I had in my mind was being restrained in a straight jacket and surrounded by doctors in lab coats)--this is EXACTLY the kind of program you're looking for. Essentially, it's a 3 month commitment. After speaking to the admissions team and doing a remote interview with the program director, Tim, you'll likely begin within a few days--possibly within 24 hours. For 4 weeks, you show up every weekday at 9am and leave at 3:30pm. This is the partial hospitalization program, or PHP. You'll go through an extensive intake process where you'll be asked some very personal questions (I was uncomfortable at first, but trust me, the staff here are super caring and kind and you'll get to know all of them really well). You'll be thrown into the existing PHP group (mine was around 10 people) which is also nerve-wracking--but again you'll be surrounded by people who are probably there for similar reasons as you, and everyone will be totally understanding and welcoming). You'll be assigned a personal care team consisting of a therapist and a counselor, each of whom you'll meet with individually once a week. There's also a nurse practitioner who you'll consult with weekly, who can assist with prescribing medications or simply supervising/monitoring any existing ones you may be taking. There's a 30 minute lunch halfway through the day, as well as 10 minute breaks in between each group session. The sessions include traditional group therapy (known as "open process," led by one of the therapists); dialectical behavior therapy (DBT, led by a counselor); reading/journaling exercises on a whole range of topics related to things like coping skills, causes of anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, social skills, communication skills, etc. (the list goes on and on); and some interesting once-a-week sessions like art therapy, sound bath, and drama therapy (it's not what it sounds like, trust me). After that, you'll transition into the intensive outpatient program (IOP) over the course of 2 weeks; this is known as the "hybrid" period--hybrid PHP for one week (attending PHP for half days only, either 9am-12pm or 12:30pm-3:30pm), then hybrid IOP for another week (half day PHP on Tue/Thur, and half day IOP on Mon/Wed/Fri). The remaining 6 weeks are the IOP portion of the treatment, consisting of the same half days, but only 3 days a week (Mon/Wed/Fri); these types of programs are a "revolving door" of people entering and exiting, some at the start of their 3 months and some at the end, so when you transition to IOP, you'll be in a new group--same staff and care team, some new faces, mostly familiar ones, just a different room than PHP and slightly different activities and program structure. You'll still meet with your individual therapist and counselor every week. After 12 weeks, you'll finish and will be officially discharged from the program. The staff can help you get set up with an outside therapist and psychiatrist if needed. Now, logistics aside, this place changed my life. I'm not "fixed" nor did I expect to be. I'm not even necessarily doing "better"--but I am different; I think just a little bit differently, I feel just a little bit differently, I think about my feelings just a little bit differently. My life is more or less the same as it was before I went through the program, however--there are now small but powerful glimmers of change that I notice as I go about my days, little cracks in the behavioral patterns that have been on repeat for years, tiny moments of clarity where I understand what I'm doing, what I'm thinking, what I'm feeling, and why it's happening. It may not sound like much, but my time at Clear was without a doubt the most profound 3 months of my life, and attending was quite possibly the best decision I've ever made for myself. Special thanks to Mike and Lilly for being such a chill and awesome care team for me, Tim for creating such a thoughtful and in-depth program, Caroline for being so welcoming every day at the front desk, and everyone else for cultivating such a safe, kind, and respectful space each and every day--Sarah, Hailey, Donovan, Thomas, Kelly, Lainey, Gavin, John, Kristina, Logan, Joanna, Alexis, Wendy, Nathan, Jamie, Christian, Amanda, and uh...anyone I'm forgetting.
