i've gotten acrylic here before and my nail tech shaped my nails beautifully. i got gel polish on it and it started chipping hours after i got them done. i am a barista and have my hands in water a lot but i've never had gel polish chip on me before. i recently got dip nails and they were so gorgeous, shaped well with a clean ombré. my only problem is my nail tech ripped my last set of acrylics off my nails and it was quite painful. read more

Rating this a 1 star because zero isn't an option. I came in saying I needed a manicure and a pedicure both gel. I went in for a French tip pedicure and after numerous times of saying that the line needed to be thinner I finally gave up asking because it just was continuously getting worse. I was then given an excessively long calf massage that left me with muscle pain while the technician watched the soccer game. When he was done I told him I still needed a manicure to which I was told they had no gel polish. I looked up and directly in front of me at a wall full of gel polish and to top that off a woman getting her nails done... with gel polish. I have come here many times to get both of these exact things done before. I am so disappointed, neither me or my family will be returning. read more

The first time I went to Ames nails it was fantastic so I went out of my way to go back today. I was very disappointed with the service today. My nails were done very sloppy and instead of a great massage I got my shin rubbed only. I had to ask the lady to put more polish on my big toes because they were so streaked. I've been going here for years but will not be returning. The quality of your experience really depends on who you get. on my last visit I was assigned an older gentleman who clipped off the tip of my little toe (painful but it healed after a couple of days). He then proceeded to tell me I needed an extra treatment for my legs because they were so dry. When I refused the extra $15.00 treatment he instead told me I needed a treatment for "toe nail fungus" and dry heals which amazingly cost $15.00. When I told him I didn't have nail fungus he suddenly didn't speak English well enough to understand I was refusing the treatmen. Rather than cause a scene, I just went along with it. I got the gel nail tip manicure and Amy did a great job. They also clipped my cuticles which was very nice, I've only seen that done on normal manicures. Very good quality job and Amy was very patient with what shape I wanted my nails. 10/10 read more

I usually love Ames nails, but my visit 2 days ago left me far from satisfied. The woman doing my nails was not gentle, and she was rushing the whole time. I was somewhat pleased before my nails were completely done. She didn't wait for the nails to be dry before moving on to the next step so I have chunks of the topcoat missing. My nails are not even the same length. I was on a time crunch so didn't ask her to fix them. I would go and get them fixed, but I'm worried I'll just waste another $50. I added several pictures to show different lighting. Only giving 2 stars because I like the color. Won't be getting my nails done in Ames ever again. read more

I wanted to get dip nails on my natural nails no extension and was exited to get some nice good quality nails for my formal coming up soon! i walked in and went to sit down on the wait couches... THERE WHERE CANDY BARS AND CRUMS ALL OVER THEM! one of the workers kids was jumping around everywhere and getting pay day bars everywhere.. nasty... absolutely not! Then it was my turn to get my nails done. the lady i had was terribly rude and snippy when i asked questions and was so focused on her kid running everywhere she didn't care about starting a conversation with me or focusing on her task at hand. she would leave off and on and the KID would sit in the chair and play with slime and poke it on the table. I've had pedicures done regularly for years.. however my first time here, also my last. my nail tech was not only not friendly but very rough. The whole process hurt from the beginning. She scrapped my feet so bad that I left bleeding. I was trying to pull my foot away and she asked "that tickle?" No.. it hurts. Then she noticed me bleeding and put a bandage on it and just said "sorry about that" and continued beating up my feet. I finally just said "can we just be done?" and she said "you in a hurry?" yes, yes now I am.. Thank you, Ames Nails for leaving me with open sores on my feet. Worst $42 I've ever spent. read more

Worst nail place ever!The lady that did my mom's toes appeared drunk or on something. She didn't even put lotion on her feet at all, she skipped all the parts and basically just ended up rubbing her calves and painting her toenails poorly, it was terrible and we paid over $80 for two pedicures and now my feet are terrible too. I really did not enjoy my experience at Ames nails. I will not be going again. I asked for an acrylic full set. The women rushed to finish my nails, and sliced my fingertips with the file and drill several times. I had several small cuts on my fingers that still hurt. The price was not worth the pain, although the actual manicure looks ok. read more

They turn a service of $100.00 into $235.00 with no explanation other than "don't you like it". I was trying to support their business but now understand all the bad reviews. Makes me sad. I usually go here and I enjoy it. They always do a nice job but today it was different. It could be because it's a busy day but they shouldn't rush clients that go there for the good service. I was there for maybe 30 minutes. The guy that did my nails was rushing and not so friendly. I paid less than $20 which is different because I usually pay more but it was because he didn't give me the "full service". Also I don't understand why they recommend to make appointments because people would call and the guy asked for time and their name but never wrote it down. People walked in and got seated before the people that have made appointments. You might as well just walk-in. Me and my friend went to get our nails done and they said about 15-30 minute wait so we picked out our color and waited. 5-10 more girls come in and ALL get helped before us. The other girls even noticed that they were getting helped first and would apologize to us. The workers would look at us and ignore us! Worst manicure of my life. Just got them done 5 minutes ago and she started painting them so far down that it looks like they've been growing out for a week. There was no hand massage. I've had many positive experiences in the past with Ames nails but this most recent one makes me never want to come back. I chose to go to Ames nails this time to get my acrylics done instead of Nikki nails because Ames nails was cheaper and I have had good experiences with them in the past. I had called earlier that day to schedule an appointment And when I arrived they were not ready for me at all. They told me to sit down and wait so I did which I did not mind at the time but I sat there for about 15 minutes before I was taken to a table to start getting my nails done. I waited another 20+ minutes for them to even sit down at the table and start doing my nails. I was not in a rush but I just got off work and I was really exhausted and hoped that this would be somewhat of a non-time-consuming appointment, but it was. When the lady started cutting my nails to my desired I pointed out that Two of the nails were very obviously crooked. When I brought this up to her she seem to be super annoyed and said no it's fine and then I said OK and proceeded to resume the nail appointment because I didn't want to fight with her. She also cut my nail length completely uneven in several of my nails where it was very obviously noticeable that one hand was longer than the other. It was so bad that my friends pointed it out and I ended up having to go home and cut my nails to even length myself and file them down. I don't mean to be a complainer but if I'm paying somebody $40 to do my nails I would hope that I would not have to go home and fix their mistakes myself. What the lady did next was very insulting to me and is One of the main reasons I will not be going back to Ames nails. Before she began to do the color on my nails she rudely insisted that I pay her before she started. I was extremely insulted by those that she would think I would walk out or refused to pay her, but just to be nice and the fact that I didn't want to fight with her I agreed and I paid. What Infuriated me more was that I noticed nobody else in the packed salon was asked to pay before the nail tech started the color on their nails. I've been to countless nail salons and never once was I asked to pay before the service was completed. It was extremely insulting to me that she felt the need to do this to only me. This was a terrible experience for me at Ames nails and I will not be going back. A two star is honestly generous but I only gave it a two star because after I had spent about a half an hour evening out my nails and fixing the nail techs mistakes that she's so blatantly ignored when I asked her to fix they turned out pretty well. But I would rather pay a little bit extra at other places to not have to fix errors myself and not have a rude and insulting nail tech. This experience was very disappointing for me and I really wanted to like Ames nails after it but I decided that I would rather spend my money elsewhere. read more

i went and got my nails done with my best friend for our school dance coming up soon. we both sat down at the couches waiting for our turn only to realize we were sitting on multiple different candy wrappers and crumbs left by one of the nail techs daughters. we were understanding considering that the child was young. when it was our turn we sat down and told the nail techs what we wanted. my nail tech was very good at her job and gave me exactly what i wanted but the nail tech my friend got was horrendous. she scratched all around her nails and left dip powder around her nails as well. the lady then left my friend in the middle of doing her nails for another client which then lead to her daughter playing with SLIME on the table my friend was sitting at. the nails my friend ended up getting was most definitely not worth $37, i don't even think they would be worth $5. Very slow workers. I sat around waiting for my appointment to start while I saw a few workers just sitting around seeing that I had been waiting for quite some time but very few did anything about it. I got a refill on a set of acrylics I received from a different salon, and needed two nails to be replaced on...and they did a VERY poor job. The two she had to re-add the glue came off much quicker than it should, they started peeling off almost right a way. A few of my nails were filed to drastically different lengths, when I asked her to fix them she huffed at me for correcting her. Most of them she still didn't fix and were still off on lengths after leaving the salon. And whilst getting the manicure, I told the nail tech many times that she was painfully filing my nails and that the heater was too hot, although she did nothing to fix it. I usually warn the nail techs that I have sensitive nails, in which I did and had to remind her throughout the session although she didn't change her methods. She was very rough while doing my nails, pulling on them and using a lot of unnecessary force. She clipped and filled a nail of mine so short and low that it started bleeding, I told her I was in pain and that typically salons have to be gentle on my nails but she did nothing to change.
