Worst home health care. More like no home health care. I have been home for 3 weeks from an in patient p/t & o/t facility after recovering from pneumonia. I was supposed to get in home therapy from Americare. So far I have had 1 in home p/t & 0 in o/t. Yesterday p/t was supposed to be here between 11-11:30 & a person named Leslie never showed up. I had to call this company 5 times yesterday to finally get a person to talk to. I was told I would get a call back or email. So far nothing. The OT and PT are wonderful. The administration, particularly related to the provision of Home Healthcare Aides (HHA) is absolutely terrible. The HHA coordinator lies, is dismissive, blames everybody but himself for the administrative and staffing errors that exist. Chris "guarantees" that "today will be different," and then nobody comes. They were sent to me by the hospital medical center in Valhalla. Nurse Lavern Graham was my case manager. She was very nice and helped get all my services but towards the end of my services I got billed for one of these services. So she admitted she made a mistake. She called the company to try to resolve the problem and she was so unprofessional. She hung up on the individual and when they called her back several times she refused to answer the phone. Anyway, it was her last day. She had me do her job call and try to resolve it. She didn't not pay the outstanding bill and was M.I.A. She said she would pay it. When I called the office they kept saying it wasn't her fault and that Lavern wouldn't know what my insurance covered. I couldn't believe it. Now I'm afraid I am going get a bill for all services and they just abandoned me with bills. I called to see is the doctor will continue to see me and I've gotten no response. The doctor himself said that he will continue to come even if my service is over. I would not trust this company. They told me that. all my services and equipment was free under my insurance and now I'm being billed. The office was rude and they all lied to me. BEWARE!!! I was on the phone with one who randomly pops in to often for a friend with dementia. It's Good Friday and an aggressive Eastern European woman began screaming at me because I was questioning her. I told her slow down and stop yelling it's a holiday maybe not yours but Easter week wend is ours! They tend to barge in knowing the woman has the beginnings of dementia that somehow gets ignored. I told her are you swiping her in's card like a Mastercard? She assured me she's some type of nurse, that's why my friend was hacking coughing and bedridden with either Covid or pneumonia. I wish I lived closer. Their attitude is atrocious, and I think but for the grace of god am I next with these ppl? If a person has dementia don't they know she forgets everything they say? I currently work at Americare, and unfortunately, my experience has been far from positive. The agency operates very unprofessionally, and I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone, whether as a patient or an employee. From the time I began until now, there has consistently been one issue after another. The customer service, particularly over the phone, is extremely poor. Most employees answering the phone are disrespectful and unhelpful, often keeping callers on hold for extended periods only to respond with an attitude. For those who may not speak English fluently, the treatment can be even worse, with instances of dismissive and condescending behavior. One employee who stood out as particularly disrespectful was Yamari. Unfortunately, I do not know her last name or ID number, as only first names are provided--a practice I find very unprofessional. My first encounter with her was absolutely disgusting. She was hostile, unhelpful, and seemed eager to hang up the phone. When I called back to address my concerns, she did not answer the phone at all. There are a few exceptions--I've encountered about three kind and professional employees during my time here--but overall, the environment is disappointing and disheartening. Terrible! My mother-in-law was discharged from rehab at the beginning of the month. She was supposed to get PT. They say there are going to come, but no one shows up even after repeated calls. Her PT evaluation was a joke. He had her walk two steps. She just got her first PT session today (30 days after rehab). This is after I threatened to complain to Medicare and the BBB. We are using Americare for live in assistance for my non-ambulatory mother with moderate cognative issues. In what I have concluded is a very challenging service industry, Americare has gone to great lengths to alwyas support and accomodate me and my family. The team that supports my mother includes social workers, nurses and a team leader who have without exception alwayhs responded to my concerns and questions. They have provided good aids and in cases where there were any issues have gone to exceptional lengths to correct them. I would highly recommend Americare as a service provider for a loved one. read more

My mother's home health care aides 1. refused to enter the house because of their Goldendoodle, 2. Waited around for someone to give them instructions 3. Never bothered to get to know their patient and my mother never got to know anyone's name. The PT arrived 1 1/2 hours late, asked my mother to walk back and forth, said she was fine, and left. The nurse who was supposed to help her sort her meds did nothing other than look at them and say "okay." She didn't sort or label anything. We wound up canceling their "services" because they did not provide any of the services my mother or stepdad needed. As far as the office staff, they don't listen to their voicemails, the aides either show up when you told them you would be at a doctors' appointment or show up more than an hour late. Poor communication amongst staff, patients, and family caregivers. Seriously, 0 stars. Do not waste your time. read more

My grandmother was supposed to have an aide 7 days a week, however the aides regularly failed to show up and no replacements were provided. One aide, Leslie, went on vacation, and came back with Covid-19 which she passed on to my grandmother and possibly other patients. The supervisors are unprofessional, rude, and inept. If I could give zero stars, I would. This is the absolute worst place to deal with. They lose paperwork, claim that the hospital sent in the referral canceled it same day. This happened two times in a row. The coordinator called them to fix the situation, and twice they have no paper trail of the conversation. They absolutely do not care about setting you up with home healthcare services. I have no idea what this place is but it certainly isn't here to help you. If I didn't know better, I'd wear the whole thing is a scam. I warn you now do not deal with them, if you're like me, and have a loved one in need, they will let that patient sit there and rot. We had one of our residents return to the group home after a hospitalization with a severe contracture of the leg and desperately needed a Physical Therapy evaluation. We thought a PT was coming the day after he came home. The hospital had sent them a script for PT services and referral information. No one showed up. I called and was told the case was on hold because they needed additional paperwork. The hospital sent them additional paperwork. Then they scheduled a nurse to come (said this was the first step to get the PT services) for Wednesday. No one showed up and no phone call to let us know. I called them again and was told that they decided not to take the case. They have held us up for a week with a patient who is in desperate need of these services. This HHA agency is absolute garbage. Impossible to get through to coordinators and they frequently don't send any employees to cover for my mother's regular aides if they're on vacation. I have to call them to make sure all my mother's days are covered, which means HOURS on hold and frequently getting disconnected and having to call back. So, basically, I'm doing THEIR job. My experience with Americare was the worst . I am taking my complaints to the BBB. How did they ever win a CMS award. I even called headquarters and spoke with the vice president who appears to be just as bad as the directors the supervisor the coordinators down to the clueless receptionist and others. After all they subjected me to inhumane behavior. I wouldn't have enough space to say what happened to me nor my aide. We both started on the same day and we will both leaving together. They will play with your paycheck, cancel your shift or put you on a shift without notifying you. They never pick up the phone, it's a constant battle with them. I was told that an aid would be coming her name Maria 2 days a week for two hours each day. Do not believe the lies. Reading these reviews hurt my heart and I'm afraid I can add nothing but the same. These people actually make life more stressful and dangerous for the sick and elderly. First, they probably won't even show up. Then, if they do, they don't have gloves and just pitch you their home catering business, spamming you for weeks in an attempt to get you to sign up. Basic tasks like the patient's hygiene are beneath them. NO ONE SPEAKS A WORD OF ENGLISH AND THE GOOGLE TRANSLATION APP SEEMS TO ALUDE THEM ALTHOUGH THEY ARE GLUED TO THE PHONE FOR MUCH OF THEIR TIME IN YOUR HOME. This group came to us through Medicare so they are also defrauding the US government by not providing the service they say they are.
