I was trying to decide between a frameless and semi-frameless shower enclosure, and MJ was very kind and very responsive to discuss with me through many messages my options and costs. He looked closely at the pictures I sent and made constructive comments about what the shower enclosure would look like and answered all my questions in a polite and friendly manner, never ignoring me or failing to respond. Ultimately, I chose to go with a semi-frameless enclosure, which MJ does not offer (their specialty is frameless). Had I wanted to go the frameless route, I would have gone with MJ.

I also thought it was so nice of this company to text you when they would arrive within 30 mins. This is much appreciated instead of wondering when someone would come during your 4hr time window. The constant communication was welcome as well! On the day of my appointment, Tony was efficient and so thoughtful. Without even mentioning anything, he took off his shoes before entering my house to get the bedroom where the window was located! The customer service and efficiently was outstanding. The cost for the replacement was well worth it. After the new window was installed, you couldn't even tell something was done there. I definitely recommend MJ Glass for any replacement windows you need.

California Energy Consultant Service

My experience with California Energy Consultant Service started with an insulation estimate from…read moreMitch. He was knowledgeable, straightforward, and took the time to explain the project and costs. We were getting quotes from several companies, so we hadn't made any decisions. What really stood out was that Phil, the owner, personally reached out that same evening to ask how the appointment went and whether our questions had been answered, regardless of whether we hired them. Coming from an HVAC sales background myself, that meant a lot to me. I've always appreciated family-owned businesses, and an owner who takes that kind of interest in a potential customer says something about how the company operates. Phil and I ended up talking about a roof replacement we were also planning. I'd already met with six roofing companies, but that conversation convinced me to get one more estimate. We ultimately hired California Energy for both the roof and insulation. What followed was a complicated project with multiple contractors working at our house, changing schedules, and a few unexpected problems. California Energy has been very accommodating throughout. Jamie, our project manager, deserves a tremendous amount of credit for coordinating everything. She's had to work around other trades, adjust schedules, and keep things moving while making sure our concerns were addressed. I know it hasn't been easy, and I genuinely appreciate the effort she's put into it. I've also had the opportunity to work briefly with Tony, another project manager, who has been incredibly responsive, helpful, and willing to step in whenever needed. John and Oscar, who handled the roofing work, have been excellent. They've been professional, attentive to details, and willing to follow through on questions or concerns. I genuinely have no complaints about my experience working with either of them. The roof is now complete, and the old attic insulation has been removed. We're waiting to blow in the new insulation until some electrical work is finished, with a few minor items still to wrap up. I also want to give Jose a special shout-out. While working at our home, he noticed an existing issue with our HVAC system that could have become a very expensive problem. Instead of simply pointing it out and moving on, he advocated for us, communicated with our existing HVAC contractor, and helped get the issue thoroughly investigated. That ultimately led to the discovery that our two-year-old rooftop HVAC unit was defective, and our HVAC company is now replacing it. Jose could have easily considered that someone else's problem, but he didn't. We're extremely grateful for his attention to detail and persistence. Thank you, Jose! Not everything has gone perfectly, but with a project of this size, I don't expect it to. What matters to me is how a company responds when legitimate concerns come up. In my experience, California Energy has listened, communicated, and worked to make things right rather than brushing us off. That speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction. One thing that really stands out to me is how many employees I can name: Mitch, Phil, Jamie, Tony, John, Oscar, and Jose. Each has made a genuine impression and contributed to helping us navigate what has been a challenging few months of home projects. I think that says a lot about the people this company employs and the relationships they build with their customers. That kind of personal connection and accountability is becoming harder to find, and it's something I truly appreciate. We still have the insulation installation and a few finishing touches ahead of us, and I plan to update this review once everything is officially completed. Obviously, I can't speak to what their customer service will look like years down the road, but based on everything we've experienced so far, California Energy Consultant Service has earned an A+ from me. Phil has set a strong example as an owner, and his team has backed it up. From the initial estimate to managing a constantly evolving project, everyone involved has played a meaningful role in making this experience a positive one. I'm grateful we chose California Energy and appreciate everything their team has done for our family and our home.

The positives: Great communication, Alonso, Omar and Oscar…read morewere very attentive to detail and spent a lot of time making sure the end product of the windows and new trim is excellent. The negatives: a broken sprinkler, poor communication about permitting. Overall, we are very happy with the windows themselves. I wish the other details had been a little better, but big picture is that we are happy with the three contractors who spent all day in the sun and yet just powered through, not sacrificing quality work. Communication improved later, and we can already tell that these windows are better at keeping heat out than the old ones.

Outstanding Service & Craftsmanship. Highly Recommend!…read more Dimas is an absolute standout. From the very beginning, his responsiveness impressed me. He got back to me quickly when other glass companies took days or wouldn't even provide a ballpark estimate. That alone set him apart. I also ran into other contractors who pushed back on my project, even claiming it didn't meet Placer County code, and when I asked questions, they simply stopped responding. Dimas was the complete opposite: professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with every step of the way. What started as one shower door quickly turned into four because of how confident I felt in his work and integrity. And I'm so glad it did. His craftsmanship is excellent. Clean, precise, and high-quality. You can tell he genuinely cares about doing the job right and making sure his customers are happy. That level of pride and attention to detail is rare. Our newly remodeled bathrooms absolutely deserved this level of quality, and Dimas delivered. Beyond the work itself, he's just an incredibly kind, honest, and hardworking person. If you want to save time and work with someone you can truly trust, call Dimas. I couldn't be happier with the results and would recommend him without hesitation.

Truth be told, it was a bumpy install but I do not believe that is an ongoing issue. The more important part is that Lance has stood by his work & dealt with any issues that have come up fairly. Needless to say I was in a bit of a panic. I talked to multiple contractors quoting $12k up to $25K, using their expensive financing and telling me what system they would use, not letting me choose - it was awful. Lance came to my house and was the first HVAC contractor that talked to me, not at me, and had lots of options. He also told me about GoGreen, financing for HVAC projects, where I got a low interest loan, and also about a $2k rebate on my Fed Tax with a new Amana system. Whew! I was able to calm down and they got it installed before Christmas - and they also loaned me a portable heater for the duration! The installers were great and I was a bit of a pain, being nosey and wanting to understand everything. Even the office staff was kind with helping me get the GoGreen loan. I didn't have the money to replace the vent system and the too large plenum, so Lance suggested dampers to even out the flow. Said they would check everything in the spring after a season of winter. Now sadly, the bad. I was told I would get 2 years of free servicing on my new Amana system and when I called the office in the spring for servicing and damper check they didn't know what I was talking about and told me to call the installers. I really liked these guys but their follow-up and not servicing a new $15k system seems a little underhanded. I cannot get a hold of Lance and I need to find someone to service my less than one-year-old system. Not good but the heat-pump, so far, is working well.
