I came and did the class and I was hooked in the first 20 minutes. After the class, I inquired for long term participation and signed up for 3x a week. They had a Christmas sale that was awesome, the class was really good and it pushed me to step out of my house and workout with other people other than me. After a week or so, I decided to upgrade my membership to the 5x a week because it's just that good! All of the coaches are super knowledgeable, motivating and I feel like I'm a part of a community which is the most important part. I am so happy to be a part of this club and I hope more of my friends join me in this fun journey! I can't wait to continue to learn new techniques! First time I went in there he tried convincing me the gym I came from was garbage, mind you I trained at The University at Buffalo's Boxing Club, where it cost $100/year whereas Kokos charges $150/month.. it's safe to say my coach in Buffalo was doing this for the love of the sport and not the money, even though he was so well connected he had current pro boxers come in and train with our top guys. If you want to lift weights this place would be decent (if it wasn't overpriced and open 24/7) but as far as training to box or for mma I would never choose this place.

When I went to the initial assessment, what struck me the most was how knowledgeable he was. After the initial workout I sensed this was a trainer that could really help me. I am so grateful that I have been able to work with Jean-Sebastien. He has not only been a trainer for me, but a coach, a teacher, a confidence booster and a really funny guy. He can make the workout a joy rather than a chore. I love to ask him questions because he actually teaches you about your body, how it moves and how it works. He is also patient and listens to your feed back to guide him in creating the best workout for you. He knows when to push you as well to make it count. I have gained so much more than muscle and stamina. I have gained knowledge of my body. I have gained confidence. I have learned that with time and work I can achieve what I thought I could not do. There are many clients that have been here as long, or longer than me. I appreciate the classbased teaching, with an individualized touch. The coaches and owners know my name. There is such a sense of community here. I have a complete home gym, but I still love coming to CrossFit EW for the community and a class. I certainly push myself more in a group situation, and I appreciate the coaches watching each one of us, giving tips and tricks and pointers. They won't even go so far as to tell you how much weight to lift or give you additional exercise options if you're not comfortable with a particular exercise or if you were not very proficient in a particular exercise. I appreciate their expertise. This gym is not a typical CrossFit gym because it has a towel service, clean bathrooms, clean showers, plenty of parking, as well as a small bar area which serves protein shakes to order. The equipment is in good shape, and there is plenty of equipment for everyone in the class. You also don't have to clean up after yourself, like some CrossFit gyms, this place has a cleaning crew and the coaches are very good about keeping it clean. Of course you have to return your own equipment, you can't leave it sitting out, but those are the same rules for any gym. There are new monthly challenges, a whiteboard to post your personal goals, and fun member events sporadically throughout the year. This is a great gym to start your journey of fitness. They focus on physical and mental well-being, exercise, and nutrition. There are so many different classes and courses available, as well as individualized training. No notification on transition of membership and Elite (JoJo) tells me they knew nothing about Tribe's liability that should have sat on Tribe's balance sheet and discovered during due diligence of the acquisition. If anyone else lost money in this transaction, message me please. When one entity acquires another, they acquire their assets AND liabilities.

I came here from a booming BJJ scene where I trained directly under some of the better known names in the sport. My last school, in addition to being taught by two world class instructors, also fostered a philosophy and sense of community devoid of politics and ego while stressing unity in BJJ. When I moved to Florida, I was sure I had seen the last of this philosophy. This is simply not so. Like my last school and its affiliates, there are no "creontes" at ATT. All are welcome to come and go as often as you like. The instructors love what they do and provide a challenging, safe and fun training environment for kids and adults alike. Their partnership with the Longwood location makes it nearly impossible to miss a class if you don't want to. The students in the classes are friendly and helpful and only stand for your success much as they would their own, a few of them being amateur fighters. BJJ and MMA are the present and future of combat sports and American Top Team does a great job of representing them.

I see it as a tool in my son's empowerment journey.....the approach at Hero is one of patience, while maintaining fundamental discipline of karate. Video games, after school Art, stuff like that, I see as extracurricular. My son's drive to hit the mark and do the right thing and exercise discipline when in Michael's presence is mind blowing. Outside of karate, he lacks focus, self discipline, etc.. Once he steps on that, mat, I've never seen him so focused and dedicated. Glad to have him at HERO.
