Tried this place for the first time because it's closer to my house to get propane,been going to propane place in garden grove for years,so wanted to try something closer So went here told the guy out side just needed to top it off,cuz it was half full,guy said ok,filled it and told me to go inside to pay,guy inside said its $20 for refill The guy outside didn't tell me this in that case I would brought my empty one,so the guy inside explain it to me,so I paid $20 bucks for some lil propane,for now on I'll drive all the way to garden grove,it would be helpful if the one outside explains before we do it Thank you!!! read more

Terrible service. Not reliable. Pulled out the day before event (AFTER PAYMENT WAS TAKEN) for a generator rental after two employees did not communicate correct info. Office manager was rude and said we can't speak to the store manager would need to drive in from LA to Long Beach just to speak with manager "he's not available by phone. You can only come into speak to him." Never again! read more

I have used American Rentals on a couple occasions. I continue to come back for good reason - not only are their prices competitive, but their customer service is impeccable. Each time I have called to inquire about a rental, be it party supply or building equipment, my questions are happily answered and I feel like the employees actually care about getting me exactly what I want. For an extremely last minute rental, I was provided with everything I needed, at a bargain price, and they did an amazing job at getting everything delivered quickly AND ahead of schedule! It made what was going to be a crazy, hectic day that much easier to handle. Everyone I dealt with was so nice and eager to help. I HIGHLY recommend American Rentals. I rented a carpet cleaner which worked perfectly. The plastic half gallon bottle of liquid soap got smashed and cracked by the cleaner on the way home. I savaged about a cup of soap. I went back to buy another bottle and they gave me a new bottle free. I've been coming here for 30 years. Good hometown business. read more

These guys are a complete rip off! After we pressure washed our rental they still tacked on a $150 cleaning fee!!! I watched them after we dropped it off, they just put it back with all the rest of the equipment on their yard, didn't even clean it! Don't make the same expensive mistake we did! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! It's crazy to me how this place is still In business. Needed a rental for my business and contacted this facility. Rudy answered the call and went over what the details were in order to schedule our rental. As I'm getting off the phone I tell him I will see you Monday... fast forward to Monday morning... I arrive with all my ducks in a row. Credit card for my rental and my ID. I was told about $200 plus tax per my phone conversation. THEY DONT EVEN HAVE THE EQUIPMENT AT THIS FACILITY! They want me to rent here and drive to downtown Long Beach to pick it up! And that's not even the bad part... I decide I'm in a pickle now so I will have to go get the equipment in Long Beach because I have guys at the job waiting to work. Then he hits me with a $1500 deposit!!!! Never once informed me of the deposit until I'm going to pay! How does this place even stay in business treating their customers like this?? Do yourself a huge favor and find another company to rent your equipment from! read more

American Rentals has been by far one of my favorite places to rent equipment from. Kyle was very professional, friendly, and courteous. We ended up renting a mini excavator for one of our jobs. The best part was they delivered to us and picked up the equipment when we were done. The cost to rent the equipment was very reasonable compared to other rental companies. Called around to different equipment rental companies about renting a 5k warehouse forklift for one day. This company had the right price, but they are far from professional. I gathered three quotes for my boss, American Rentals being the lowest, and told the sales rep. that I would get back to him and make the reservation as soon as my boss confirmed. They charged the corporate credit card and delivered the forklift, I did not authorize, a week early! We didn't even know the forklift had been delivered until an employee from a company we share a building with told us there was a forklift in the parking lot with our company name on it, keys in it and all. When I called to ask them to pick up the forklift and refund the card, I was treated like it was my fault and I was inconveniencing them! No apology, nothing. It took them 5 days to pick up the forklift and I'm still trying to get them to refund the charge to our corporate credit card. They do not care about their customers! I would rather use a different company who cares about their customers, treats them with respect and charges a little more. I wish I would have read their reviews on Yelp before I ever thought about using them. NEVER AGAIN!!! We're sticking with Sunbelt. . . read more
