We used American Rentals in TC for our wedding on Oct 1 and were very pleased with the results! We rented three tents set up in an unusual way (an L-shape to fit around trees), tables, chairs, dishes, drinkware, flatware, linens, a portable restroom (flushed with running water!), and heaters. Everything arrived on time and was in excellent shape. The heaters were great and warmed up our tents and guests on a chilly fall day. I am a local business owner, and purchased a large high-end tent through this company for special events at my business. I had an agreement to have American Rental put up, take down, wash my tent and then store through winter. They recently had some staffing changes that involved their local manager contact (the company is based out of Lansing). When the company contacted me to see when I wanted tent put u p for the season, they said I had to pay $2,200 invoice. This was completely out of nowhere the day before they were scheduled to come out with tent. When I shared the details of our agreed upon terms back in the Fall (which were drastically different) with my contact at the time, the owner's daughter Emily basically said it didnt matter and that those were the new terms. I even had text messages verifying the charges I agreed upon. She said If I didnt pay they were not going to give me my property. I have never been treated as poorly as she treated me. I think this company is deceitful and fraudulent. I would never recommend them to anyone, especially a local business to Traverse City area. They are not local, and are managing from Lansing. They truly do not care about our community and want to inflate charges to justify the cost of sending crews and trucking from downatate. A business that lacks integrity does not deserve the business of the good people in this community. read more

We had a huge out door wedding on our property last summer, we ended up renting everything from AR, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a one stop shop for all of your rental needs! Chris was extremely helpful in clarifying our many questions over the year leading up to the event and in the end everything looked amazing! We did have a few hick-ups along the way with some of our things showing up pretty dirty, but the crew who helped with the full day set up made up for it! They were awesome and helpful and very apologetic. They did everything they could to remedy the situation. Overall a very good experience and being a one stop shop for a large event saves the head ache of shopping around! read more
