The other post on here is just plain wrong for lots of reasons. Probably the number one reason is…read morethat this isn't the swim that Jessica Yaniv was talking about - she was organizing a one-time swim in ln Langley, and this was a monthly swim in Surrey. The other reviewer seems to be from Seattle, so maybe they are not familiar with the difference between Langley and Surrey? Also, and this is very much an aside, Jessica Yaniv's swim doesn't seem to be that bad? Admittedly I've only read the one article (link below), but it looks like she was trying to organize a body positivity swim that was top-optional, which is already the case in public pools. She seems to just have wanted the focus on the swim to be for body positivity so that trans people could feel safe and wanted. I've been to a few of the skinnydipper swims and it was super tame. Just a bunch of folks hanging out at the pool without clothes on, and everyone was polite and friendly. Only a few kids would show up and they were absolutely with their parents. It wasn't a big deal. In fact, the whole point seemed to be that it wasn't a big deal. Most of the folks there were long-time naturists. Also, for what it's worth, I never saw Jessica Yaniv there. https://www.nsnews.com/local-news/genital-waxing-complainants-topless-ok-youth-lgbtq2s-swim-proposal-delayed-by-township-of-langley-3104138

The Toast Collective is a space for a lot of people with different aims to get together, hang out,…read morehost events, and sometimes party. I've been to super chill jazz nights that turned in to topless dance parties, and art showings that brought the city's finest together over wine. This is the coolest spot to make some friends and book that event you always wanted to see happen. Their street view is an unassuming storefront, and through the door an open performance space, then couches, a bar, and a bathroom. The entire space is tiny, there's capacity for about 70 people in total and it gets pretty crowded pretty quickly. The art and displays rotate as their showcases change. Social programs are hosted by motivated individuals year round. They are very do it yourself and very politically correct, so if you're a snobby lazy jerk you might not want to socialize too long. But honestly, you'll probably fit right in with them, and the hip neighborhood they've been a part of for years. Contact them through their website with any ideas, and check the online calender for more dates.

I loved their Jazz hipster nights in a confined space. Truthfully this place was hipster before hipster was hipster. I heard Kent talk about for years about the toast collective, therefore, was really happy that I got to do this with him a few years ago.
